Floccesy Ranch
Our bold heroine and her Pokemon arrive, and are immediately accosted by Butz.
Butz: ALRIGHT, LET'S BA-
Lina: Um, I just wanted to give you a Town Map from your sister...
Butz: Oh.
She hands him the town map, then the two stare at each other silently.
Butz: ...Can we still battle?
Lina: ...Fine.
The events of this battle are similar to the first.
Butz: Not again...
A rancher and his wife approach, a Herdier in tow.
Rancher: Hey! Nice to see folks enjoying a battle!
Lina: ...You don't mind?
Rancher: Naw. If you went out of line the Mareep would handle it.
Mareep: -snarls-
Lina: ._.
Wife: Anyway, have you seen our other Herdier? It's been missing fro a while...
Butz: ...
WHAT? YOU HAVEN'T BEEN LOOKING HARD ENOUGH! IT COULD BE LOST FOREVER! I'LL FIND IT FOR YOU! -Runs off-
Wife: ...I haven't even told him the whole story.
Lina: He's like that.
Wife: But yeah, helping us look for our other Herdier would be nice. Normally they hang out together...
Lina: Got it.
She begins searching the ranch, obtaining a few new Pokemon in the process. Namely, a Flaffy named Shaun, a Lilipup named Sirius, and a Pidove named Riana.
Lina: I've heard there are Riolu on this ranch...
Riana: Why would you want to find a Riolu? Fighting types are mean!
Felis: At least you aren't weak to them. -shudders-
Shaun: Don't worry, they won't try anything around me...
Lina then comes across Butz again.
Butz: It must be deeper in the ranch! Come on!
Lina: OK, but I'm sure it's not much of a problem...
Butz: But Pokemon usually don't wander off by themselves!
Felis: Because we're SOOOO dependent on Trainers, right?
Lina and Butz continue further into the ranch, where Lina fights a few more Trainers and picks up some items, like Pokeballs and Paralyze Heals. Finally, Lina cones across the Herdier... Chewing on a man in some sort of special ops outfit.
???: Arrrrgh, stupid Herdier! Get off!
Butz: -from a distance- Good work, Lina! You look over there, I'll look this way!
Lina: Um...
Man: Hey ow you! Back off, ow unless you someow don't know who I ow am!
Lina: ...I do not.
Man: What?! We ow were ow the guys who ow terrorized the ow region two years back! Team Plasmow!
Lina: Plasma?
Susano: Oh boy! A bad guy! Now if we rescue the Herdier we'll be heroes!
Shaun: -sparks angrily- Hands off the Herdier.
Felis: Don't you Plasmorons usually wear dorkier outfits?
Plasma Grunt: Argh! -flings the Herdier off- Ugh, first I get lost chasing that mutt, now this! Take THIS!
Her flings an object at Lina...
Lina: Agh!
...Which is a Frustration TM.
Plasma Grunt: -flees while Lina is distracted.-
Lina: ...Why do I get a sense of foreboding?
Butz: -comes over with the Ranch owner- You found it!
Ranch Owner: Thanks so much!
Butz: You better thank us! That Herdier could have been lost FOREVER! Take better care of it! -runs off-
Lina: ...Again, he's like that.
Lina then continues searching for a Riolu, and finds one... Only for it to break out of her last Pokeball.
Riolu: Trololololol
Lina: ...Susano, show no mercy.
Susano: -Water Guns the Riolu into the stratosphere-
Riana: Told you they were mean. >v>
Our heroine returns to Floccesy, where Alder accosts her...
Alder: YOU HAVE SUCEEDED! Now, will you help me...
Lina: First, I have to find another Riolu.
After finding some Pokeballs and going back to the ranch, she does, and successfully catches it and names it Roxas. She also catches a Psyduck named Ludwig.
Ludwig: Quack! Quack quack quack!
Felis: Is that all you ever say?
Ludwig: Quack!
Felis: Why must this team get the weird Water types?
Lina then proceeds to use her new catches to stomp the two kids Alder wanted to have her practice against.
Alder: EXCELLENT! You have the makings of a true champ!
Lina: Kay, thanks, bye...
She attempts to flee, but is blocked by a strange man.
Man: MEDALS! They're like little mini-achievements, only MORE SO!
Lina: Um, that's very nice...
Man: Here, have a case! And a free medal to put in it! I'll stalk you in Pokecenters until you collect them all! -flees-
Lina: ...Why is everyone other than me so weird?
Gino: It's funnier that way, nyan.
Alder: -catches up- Oh, by the way the Gym in your howmetown is open!
Lina: OK then! See ya.
She heads back, new mons in tow.
