Cloudy/Rain

It's raining tomorrow... I'd better check the Midnight Channel later...

Yu left the Dojima household, and went off to do some shopping...

"The police still haven't caught the killer? Those idiots! Can't they do anything right!? I tell ya, the world is chock-full of idiots! Those morons that ride around on their bikes in the middle of the night, for example! Guys like that can't do anything without each other! They're worthless! And lemme tell ya..."

I'll just do my shopping some other time.

Yu quietly slipped away from the strange-eyed boy...

I thought that guy was creepy before, when he hit on Yukiko all of a sudden, but sheesh. Where would he be unlikely to follow me?...

The riverbed of the Samegawa was calm today, though two men were already present. One stared wistfully at the waters, another quietly sobbed from the stump he was sitting on...

"Who in the world could've done such a..."

Hey, I think that guy's the council secretary that had an affair with Yamano... Let's leave him be...

The other man turned from the water to look at Yu...

"Boy. I see it in your eyes..."

Yu gulped.

What does he have on me? What does he know?

"... You interested in fishin', boy?"

Thank god.

The old guy looked rather... Intense.

"... Yes?"

"Ho ho! I'll lend you some of my old fishin' gear, then."

What.

"Um..."

"Fish a whole bunch for me."

And with that, the old man turned away, back to the river...

Those frikkin' goldfish are so small. Why am I so tired?

... Well, might as well get back to folding cranes...

Rain

Yukiko meet up with Yu outside school. Apparently, the rain wasn't going to last until nightfall. She then talked about Golden Week for a bit, as the two headed to class.

King Moron is being himself. Great.

"Next order of business! Midterms are comin' up next week! The results will be posted to humiliate low-scoring losers!"

... How the hell do you still have a job?

"Exams... That means our clubs are canceled for the week, huh?"

Yu turned to face his friend.

"... 'Our' clubs? So, you're in a club, too?"

Yosuke was suddenly flustered...

"Ah, nonono, nothing like that! Especially not with that cutie Yum- You wanna g-go study in the library?"

Figures.

"... Sure. Got nothing else to do..."

Yu watched the news with Nanako...

Holy crap. Criminal or not, stealing an ATM with a construction vehicle takes balls.

Dojima called, to explain why he was late coming home. Nanako picked it up, then, after a short conversation, sadly passed it along to Yu, then ran to her room...

"Hello? Sorry, but I'm going to be late tonight. Make sure you lock up before you go to sleep. And about that time off on the 4th and the 5th... One of the younger guys got sick. And, well, the case he's handeling... We can't just let it sit. Looks like I'm the only one who can take over for him."

Yu held himself still just a moment, then responded.

"Poor Nanako..."

I was actually looking forward to this, a little.

Dojima apologized again, then asked Yu to comfort Nanako in his stead...

After reading a short story to Nanako, Yu went to his room and folded cranes to keep his mind away from the phone call...

05/03 Tu (Constitution Day!)

Cloudy

Yu went downstairs and said his good mornings to Nanako, who was watching TV, as usual. She seemed rather down.

Understandable.

Then the doorbell rang.

It was Chie.

"Oh, cool. You're home. Hey, if you're free today, wanna go somewhere? Yukiko's coming, too."

Actually, she's probably the best person who could've come.

"Sure! Hey, you mind if I bring Nanako along?"

Nanako was surprised.

"Huh? I-I can come?"

Chie laughed a little.

"Yeah. Of course you can!"

Nanako dashed outside, Yu and Chie quickly catching up.

Yosuke seemed to be sad for Nanako, being taken to a department store for Golden Week.

"I love Junes!"

Nanako smiled brightly.

"N-Nanako-chan..."

Looks like someone's getting a fanbase. Gotta admit, seeing her happy makes me a little happier, too.

"But we were supposed to go on a real trip... He was going to make us boxed lunches..."

Nanako nudged a little towards Yu.

"Oh, so you're the family cook? Pretty impressive, 'big bro'!"

"Big... Bro."

Nanako shyly imitated Chie.

"Ah, really? Well, it makes sense- You do seem pretty good with your hands- Wait, wait, uhh..."

Brilliant as usual, Yosuke.

Chie jumped into the conversation.

"I-I'm a pretty good cook too, y'know... Probably. If you'd asked, I would've whipped up some boxed lunches easy as pie. Yeah..."

"Uhh, lemme think abou- No."

That was a bit harsh, Yosuke.

"Well, you wanna have a cooking contest or somethin'? Bring it on!"

Chie's on the defensive... Not a good sign...

"I never said I cooked. But I get the feeling like I'd win anyway."

Yukiko chuckled for a little too long from Yosuke's snip.

"I could understand that."

"What the- Yukiko!?"

Yukiko half-insulted Chie. Note to self- Avoid Chie's food.

Yosuke offered to have Nanako be the judge of this cooking duel.

"I bet we could make something almost as good as your mom's cooking, Nanako-chan!"

Nanako got a little somber.

"I don't have a mom. She died in an accident."

Yosuke apologized, but Nanako explained her feelings.

"Even if I don't have a mom, I have Dad with me. And now I have a brother, too."

... Me?

"... Thank you, Nanako."

"Yeah! I'm having a lot of fun today! I love Junes!"

Yu's friends promised to play with Nanako whenever she'd like.

"C'mon, Nanako-chan. Let's go get a soda!"

Yosuke led the girl off.

"She's a strong girl."

"Yeah. she makes me feel like I'm the little kid here. That's it! I'm gonna go get something for Nanako-chan, too!"

Yeah... I'm... Really happy she opened up like this.

Chie and Yukiko walked after them, though Nanako came back for Yu.

"Do you want something, too?"

"... Yeah. I wanna have a fun rest of the day with you."

Nanako smiled...

Time stopped for just a moment, and an image of a card bearing the number "VIII" and an abstract image of a sword and balance appeared before Yu...

Thou art I... And I am thou...

Thou hast established a new bond...

It brings thee closer to the truth...

Thou shalt be blessed when creating Personas of the Justice Arcana...

A wave of shining particles flowed out of Nanako's smile, and into Yu...

"Wanna share some takoyaki?"

Yu smiled and nodded at his...

...Lil' sis? Nah. Nanako's fine.

That night, during his usual volunteer work folding cranes, Yu made a pink alligator out of one paper, and placed a tiny white crane on top.

Nanako loves that book. I hope she'll like this, too...

05/04 W (Nature Day!)

Clear

"Sorry, Yosuke. I'm a little... Junes'd out."

"Oh, okay then. Yeah, probably for the best. See ya around!"

Nanako hanging around Kou and Daisuke... Seems like a weird idea.

Chie was visiting Daidara's that day...

No surprise there. Girl loves her fighting. I probably should hang out with her, come to think of it. We ARE supposed to be... Friends.

"Hey, Chie. You doing anything today?"

"Oh, hey, Yu! Wellllll, now that you're here, I've got some ideas..."

Chie lead Yu to the Samegawa riverbed...

"Now's the time to train, right? I tried to do it at home, but I... Accidentally punched a hole in the shoji..."

"Right. Considering what we're up against..."

Chie smiled and giggled a little.

"You think so, too? Great!"

"Yeah, I'm cool with this."

Chie beamed.

She explained that she felt incredibly weak, ever since she met her Shadow...

"Makes me feel like I've gotta work harder!"

She's really pumping up! Maybe I should... Nah, that'd be cramping her style.

"Thanks. Between you and me, we'll be unstoppable, Yu!"

Yu saw a second Chariot card materialize...

"Right then! We start with frog leaps!"

Oh, no. Nonono.

After barely surviving the rather intense training Chie had put them through, Yu returned home.

"Oh, Big Bro! Thank you for the present!"

Nanako was very happy with the origami alligator...

That's really good, huh?

Feeling a little rejuvenated, Yu went upstairs to finish his fourth bundle of cranes.

05/05 Th (Children's Day!)

Clear

Hmmm... I wanna try something new today. Where have I not really been?

Well, the grocery department here is pretty impressive, at least. Hmm... Those Tater Longs look kinda okay...

Yu browsed around the Junes Grocery Department, but quickly grew bored and left...

Yu decided to visit the Shopping District's Shrine next...

This Shrine is pretty desolate... Guess the rumors of there being a magic beast here were fal-

Yu's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the appearance of a yellow fox, covered in scars, wearing a red apron around its neck...

Why is it holding an ema?...

The Fox presented the plaque to Yu...

"Please help Grandpa's legs get better. -Keita"

Why did the fox give me this?... And what's this leaf on the back? It's not from around this area...

Suddenly, an elderly man hobbled into the Shrine grounds, scaring the Fox away...

He explained that no one maintained the Shrine, as well as how bad his legs had gotten, then noticed the leaf. Yu gave it to him, and he placed it on his leg, then...

What the hell.

The old man ran at incredible speed to the Shrine's donation box, placed a bit of money in, then ran off...

The Fox inspected the donation box and yipped in joy. It seemed to be carrying a large amount of those same leaves around...

So, it wants me to help grant the wishes of those around the area, so that the Shrine can prosper... How did it figure this out? And is it... Offering me the leaves, somehow?

Suddenly, time stopped for just a moment. A card bearing the number "IX" and an abstract image of an eye and a lantern appeared before Yu...

Thou art I... And I am thou...

Thou hast established a new bond...

It brings thee closer to the truth...

Thou shalt be blessed when creating Personas of the Hermit Arcana...

A wave of particles flooded out of the Fox's eyes, and into Yu...

The Fox gestured towards the box and a pile of emas...

I guess it'll help me with those leaves for a charge... And I think I'll have to help with those ema wishes too, huh?

Well, if I'm gonna be helping this guy out, I at least want a chance to pet it...

Yu gave the Fox a rub on the head. The Fox neither appreciated nor disliked it...

Fine for now. You'll learn to like pets, if it's the last thing I do.

Yu sat down to watch the news with Nanako...

So, they caught the crazy guy who stole the ATM with an earthmover, huh? Probably for the best, even if his audacity is impressive. A pity he used it for that sort of thing.

Dojima arrived home, to Nanako's delight. He apologized for breaking his promise about Golden Week...

Nanako explained how much fun she had with Yu and his friends at Junes. Dojima was very thankful. Nanako then noticed her father had brought home...

"Oh, that's a Junes bag! What's in it?"

"Well, today's Children's Day. So, I brought you a present."

Dojima handed Nanako an orange shirt with a cartoon platypus on it. She was absolutely elated.

Good to see her smiling. She seems to be doing it a lot more, lately.

Yu smiled a tiny bit.

"I got you one, too. Not that you're still a child or anything, but fair's fair."

Dojima handed Yu a pair of black swim trunks with an odd blue design on them...

Huh. It's actually sorta nice.

"Thanks."

Dojima told Yu that it was the least he could do. Summer was coming up fast, so they would be useful soon enough...

Dinner was a little more alive that night.

It's almost like I was always here...

Yu folded up another two hundred cranes that night...

This is far too much fun. That Antibiotic Gel reward's a neat perk, too.

First up, nice find with Mitsuo and Natatame.

Second, awwwww. It's so nice to see that Yu himself is starting to get affectionate towards Nanako.

And I spy a Persona 3 reference!

Yeah, you can find all four of...those guys just standing around doing nothing on certain days. I don't think there is ever a day where all four are out at once though. I think at most, there might be 2 at once. Usually, it's just the one.

Also, I think Yu is finally getting sick of the cranes.

Why would he EVER get sick of cranes? They're his only traveling friends!

...

God, that's pitiful.

It's good to here this feedback. I'm glad it seems to be liked.
