Crushes and Mothers! ...Wow, that came out wrong.

Some Day One Day

The song starts with what sounds like an acoustic, but... steely. And... Ooh, it sounds like Brian's singing! The music is fairly gentle, even after the drums and lead guitar come in; think "More Than A Feeling" meets Train. The vocals are fairly soft as well. I know I've heard something like this, but I can't put my finger on it. Again, it's a bit tough to describe this one; you'll have to listen to it to get it.

This one seems like a man who's finally gotten together with someone he's had his eye on for a while. The second verse seems to just be him describing how he feels with her, and the last is... kinda weird, but a little ominous. Just a little. Overall, it's a nice little bit of fluff ^-^

A Loser In The End

This seems to be a bit of a junky, gritty song. It suits Roger's voice, though. And let me tell you, he really growls in this song; essential to any Roger fan. It's got a very nice funk to it, and May's solo around the middle is great. There's not much else to it; it's different but not very varied. And by that, I mean it doesn't switch tunes every 5 seconds, so it isn't really an issue.

It starts off with narration about a mother who's sad that her son left that day. It goes into her struggle after he left; after all, she took care of him for nearly 20 years, and all she gets is a goodbye. The chorus is Roger telling the boys to keep their mothers in mind, you don't want to lose them. Then he speaks to the mothers, saying they'll stay in their son's hearts if they "let them have their fun", and that it hasn't been that long since they were young. Roger Taylor, I salute you.

Final Thoughts of Side White: It's sweet, it's sad, and it has Brian and Roger singing. What's not to love? Admittedly, it had a rocky start, but it proved itself in the end. I'll be looking forward to Side Black.

Next time I'll be looking at "Ogre Battle", "The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke" and "Nevermore"! Stay tuned, folks!
