Right after Mat leaves Perrin, Berelain comes in the room and tries to seduce him. Then Zarine comes in, and it goes exactly as expected. After that Perrin forbids her from coming with him to Two Rivers, as he’s actually planning to give himself up to the Whitecloaks, in the hope that they’re only there for him. Yeah, good luck with that.
Zarine runs into Berelain again in the hall, and they fight some more, and I so don’t care about either of these two, so this does nothing for me. At least Rhuarc gets to be awesome when he breaks it up.
The stuff with Perrin is more nice setup, but then things head downhill fast. I’m guessing the fight between Zarine and Berelain over a guy who doesn’t want either of them is supposed to be comic relief, but by now they’re each so annoying on their own that putting them together squares it. Though Perrin trolling Zarine over wanting to go with Berelain was pretty good.
