Torn Asunder. (AKA Discord is still an Asshole)

Hello again, and welcome to my LP. Last time, we Found out about the Unicorn Knights, Found and acquired Rarity, Rescued Sweetie Bell from a burning house, and now have an idea as to where the espers are.

I found a cave to the west that was not there before. Something tells me that this is where the espers are.

Hmm, alot of paths to take... Wait, was that Sweetie Bell?! What is she doing here?

OK, this cave loops around on itself... You go the wrong path and you end up going in circles.

OK, I'm seeing Sweetie all over this place. I'm going to presume she is in the cave, and not that I'm going mad.

There are 3... idol looking things... around a beam of light coming down from the ceiling. Rarity notices that they are made from solid Jade. They look ancient. Bloom notices writing on one of them.

... I see Sweetie hiding in a corner watching us...

Rarity believes the idols represent three goddesses who are the stewards of untold magical potency. Bloom wonders if they are a warning, but Rarity thinks they are just a record. Twi feels that they radiate magic. Rairity says that these Idols are just shadows are bigger statues that they represent. She notices it is similar to the magic that Ramuh used to call out to her when she went esper. Rarity says that the real statues might be what is holding up the barrier to the esper world. Twi thinks it's some kind of beacon. These idols mush have attracted the espers.

OK, lets read that statues. One says that these statues are placed here by the espers, as a symbol of their vow to leave the Goddesses in peace, and that the espers have sworn to not let the goddesses powers be abused.

The second one says that the 3 Goddesses were banished here. In time, they started quarrelling, which lead to all out war. Ponies who got in the way were turned into espers, and used as living war machines.

The third says that the Goddesses realised that they were being laughed at by those who banished them here. They finally agreed with each other to seal themselves away from the rest of the world. With their last ounce of energy, they gave the espers back their free will, and transformed themselves into stone. Their one request was that the espers kept them sealed away.

So, the real statues are the goddesses themselves?

OK, off we go... AHH! Ultros just dropped down from the roof onto my party, knowing them out!

Huh? He seems to want the statues to get Daring Do's attention...

OK, the party has woke up. Boss fight time!

Hmm, I doubt Rarity's best attack spell will work, as it is water based... I think now is time for Twilight to Morph into Esper mode.

Heh, Esper Twi kicks ass! She is doing around 6000 damage with her spells!

Wait, Sweetie! Don't interrupt the fight! Rarity is understandably unhappy with her appearance here.

Wait, Sweetie is here to practice drawing? OK then...

Now Sweetie and Ultros are talking. Ultros seems angry at Sweetie, but Sweetie wants Ultros (Or Ulty, as she calls him) to pose for a drawing. Ultros doesn't seem interested. He says that she shouldn't talk to him like one of her kiddy friends.

Sweetie gives up trying to draw him. And then says she will jump to her death instead.

...

WAIT, WHAT?!

Twi tells Sweetie she can't do that. Sweetie then whispers something into her ear. Ah, I see. I smell a cunning plan here...

Twi gets angry at Ultros for upsetting Sweetie, and says she will not forgive him is she gets hurt.

Ultros asks what he should do then. (Wait, this is working?)

Bloom, clearly catching on, tells him to let Sweetie draw him, and to not be so heartless.

Ultros thinks for a while, then agrees.

OK... back to battle, with Sweetie in the party. Clearly, I need to use her skill, called Draw.

Ah, it seems that her skill lets her use one of the enemy's attacks.

Ultros sees the drawing, and realises that he is just a stupid octopus. (He didn't know his own species?) He then runs off.

Sweetie boasts that she is more useful than Rarity. Rarity gets angry, nevertheless, she lets Sweetie join us.

And back to my control.

...

What the hell just happened?! Why did that work?! That was both incredibly silly and incredibly amazing at the same time!

Well, this game is probably the best RPG of this style I have ever played. Granted my list of RPG's in this style is short, unless you count things like Pokemon, which I don't. Nevertheless, this game is awesome!

OK, I'm off to the next room. Huh, Its full of odd indented squares on the ground. What are they?

Oh god, they are pit traps! I fell one floor down, onto a maze of wooden bridges.

OK, there are several exits in this room, but I can only reach one. If I went down another pit I would have got to another exit I bet.

Ah, the path eventually leads to an esper! Quite alot of espers, actually. Rarity is getting worried. Blooms tells Rarity to take Sweetie and get away. They do. At least until they get forced back by more espers that move to surround us. Eep.

The party take a battle stance, but then a voice calls out saying "Halt!"

The espers back off, and the esper that cried halt walk towards us. Twi and the esper face each other.

Rarity senses a strong magic power coming from Twilight.

This is starting to look like when she first talked to an esper, and that did not end well...

OK, the esper is called Yura, and he finds the power that Twi is emitting familiar.

Rarity asks if they are the espers that fled trough the sealed gate.

Yura says that as a rule, they are not allowed to enter the pony world. They were gathering near the gate, wondering how they can rescue the espers that were kidnapped. Then coincidently, Twi appeared and opened the gate.

When the espers entered the pony world, they lost control of their powers. They leveled a city, and took innocent lives.

Twi says that was alot like when she lost control of her power.

Rarity thinks that perhaps there is a different Aura in the pony realm to the esper one that keeps the powers under control.

The espers are sorry for the damage they have done. Bloom says that it is water under the bridge, and that they should come and make peace with the empire. They agree.

Back to the town, Trixie and Zecora is waiting for us.

Zecora Greets the espers with us, and they do the same. Yura asks for forgiveness, but Zecora says that it is her that owes them an apology. It looks like peace will come easier than I thought!

Wait... Is that Discord's Laugh? Yep, Discord is here! With some Soldiers in magicteck armour. How did he escape from jail?

Ah, the soldiers attack!

Zecora asks what he is doing. Discord says he is under the emperors orders. I knew she couldn't be trusted!

Oh no, He plans to kill the espers for their Magicite! Which he does. :( He then tells the soldiers to burn the town. Which they start to do.

Zecora tells Discord to stop. Discord just gets a solider to kill her. Damn it...

Wait, she isn't dead, Just knocked out. And I control her now?

Ah, the party is still knocked out. And the empire guard with them? Either Discord is lying again about being under Gilda's orders, or the empire does can care about friendly fire. It could be either.

Well, lets get into a fight with one of the soldiers.

Crap, they are in Guardian armour, AKA that completely invincible enemy... Run!

OK, I doubt Discord himself is so strong, lets confront him.

Heh, Discord can do hardly any damage to Zecora, while she can deal a ton herself. This is too easy.

...

This is going to go horribly wrong, isn't it?

Well, Discord exits the battle, saying that Zecora is always willing to be a hero. Zecora calls for Discord to return to the battle, But Discord calls for Emperor Gilda, who arrives at the battle.

Yep, this is Gilda's doing. (So much for being over her Daddy issues) She tells Zecora to let Discord round up "these losers"

Zecora is confused by this betrayal. Gilda just tells Zecora that she needs a break from this stress. A LONG break. Oh dear...

Wait, what? Gilda vanished, and is replaced by Discord. Discord Kills Zecora. I knew this would go badly...

Discord starts calling out to the magic.

The screen cuts to the sealed gate, still behind that rockfall. The place starts shaking, and the rocks get blasted away. More espers escape, coming here to help. They fly to the town we are in.

Discord is boasting about his Magicite collection. He then says that it is take to change a few rules... He first uses him Magicite power to make the soldiers with him disappear. Because he can I guess. He then starts killing the newly arrived espers, collecting more Magicite.

Ah one of the espers gets a battle screen.

Wow, the espers attacks are doing little damage, and he is casting things like Fire 3! Discord just OHKOs him

Discord easily kills all the espers in one attack after getting board...

Crap, he plans to break through the sealed gate to get the rest of the espers!

OK, cut to sometime later, Discord is gone. The party is standing by a memorial in the town to Zecora. Twi lays down flowers. Twi says that magic only seems to bring death. She wishes she could have learned more from her.

Angel appears. He has a bad wound! Fluttershy is not with her. Err, what happened to her? My party assumes the worse.

Sweetie takes Angel. Blooms starts worrying about the other party members.

Ah, we cut to the Airship. Its running again. ^_^ It flies to Thamaresha, where we are, and unites the party. They have worked out that the Empire is lying. Yeah, we have worked that one out ourselves. Luckily, the party escaped before it was too late. Apparently, Celestia found out the plans by giving a lonely guard the "Sympathetic Mother" Routine, and got him to tell her everything then needed to know. Luna is not pleased by Celestia taking advantage of that Solider. Celestia is adamant that she was a perfect lady the whole time.

...

I hope that the "Sympathetic Mother Routine" isn't an euphemism for something else...

Anyway, Bloom tells the party that Discord killed Zecora. AJ is upset, saying that she was probably the only one who could have talked sense into the Empire.

Rarity asks to join us. Celestia asks who she is. Bloom replies that she is a dressmaker. Twi adds that she is also a Unicorn Knight descendent, and a capable fighter.

Sweetie says she wants to join in finding espers. Rarity says no. Luna agrees with her, saying she is too young. (Yet Applebloom is fine? I honestly can't work out w

Sweetie says "Who is this, Lady Macbeth?" XD

Sweetie threatens to sing a Lullaby. That seems to make Rarity give in, and let her come.

The party heads to the Airship, and Sweetie asks Celestia if she is really a Princess. Celestia says that she is, and asks if Sweetie has heard of her. Sweetie says she has not. Celestia doesn't seem happy with that, saying that after all this time she would be ready for that.

Anyway, on the Airship, Dash says that the empire are after the sealed gate and that they mentioned something about statues.

OK, cut to the sealed gate, Discord and Gilda are there. Yep, they are after all the espers.

Back to the Airship, Twi seems to be getting a headache. She says "The island... The world is being torn apart..." That doesn't sound good...

Oh wow, it cuts to some town, and yes, the land itself is being torn apart! Giant fissures are appearing! A chunk of land is floating up into the sky! (With some people falling off it, D:)

Discord and Gilda are by three statues. The counterparts to the idols I guess.

Gilda declared to discord that they will be unstoppable!

Back to the airship, the party can see what is happening. Rarity says that these statures are the origin of all magic, and that it is said that they somehow neutralised each other, and sealed themselves away. If the statues were moved out of alignment, then the imbalance of power would rearrange the face of the planet. Like what just happened I guess.

OK, Back to my control. I can choose to find the floating content or to just fly around on the overworld.

A better choice though would be to end this part.

Until next time. ^_^

Piece of advice: Events occur on the floating island that makes it the biggest point of no return in the game.

Therefore, if there is anything you still want to do, do it before going there, as things will never be the same afterwords.

To this day, I still don't know why they left the Mayor behind in the empire's trap. She was a real jerk in this version, but still... The supposed "leaders" of the New Luna Republic (The character Luna replaced was never implied to be allied with them before joining the party in the original game) are never mentioned again.

Now would be a good time to head back to Sweet Apple Castle to look around for treasure you couldn't get last time.

When you do get around to going to the Floating Continent, I suggest leaving Trixie behind. She does have scenes there, but she shows up for them anyway. Bringing her along to begin with can leave you undermanned.
