Chapter 17A: (Horses, horses everywhere!)
Another quick Chapter.
- Considering how close to the end of the game we are, and how close to level 20 the two of them were, I decided to just go ahead and promote Ephraim and Ewan at the beginning of the chapter, so that they could have more movement, and so the team would have 2 healers.
- At the start of the chapter, I sent Tana out to fight the southern heroes, so that she could collect the Brave Axe that one of them held. From there, she flew off to the side island and took down the mages that were there, collecting the Fimblvetr in the process.
- Meanwhile, the rest of the units took the main river path to the fortress. They had just made it to the central island when the Wyvern riders and Druids that were on the northern side reached the area. The NPC Syrene was able to take out 2 of the druids, and took a pot shot at a Wyvern rider, before sitting out for the rest of the fight.
- In order to quickly take out the Wyvern Riders and save the River Folk, I decided to have Eirika break out her Sieglinde sword. The other units were able to help out with these Wyvern Riders, though a couple people had to double back to keep the Folk safe from a rear assault.
- From there, Ephraim cut through the Druids that were guarding their master. Once Tana took out Lyon's guardian Swordmaster, Ephraim went at him with his Siegmund lance. He was able to leave the possessed prince wounded, and after getting some healing, he finished him off on the enemy phase. Since the other units were able to rescue the River Folk, the team was awarded with a Rescue Staff.
