Nynaeve goes back to Ailhuin’s house, and finds that Sandar has been hypnotized into working for the Blacks, and Egwene and Elayne are already captured. She puts up a good fight, including a solid punch to Liandrin’s face, but eventually she gets stuck with the air trick, and they’re carted off to see Be’lal. With thirteen Fades also on the way, so the prophecy is taken care of either way. Nynaeve and Elayne do some nifty double bluffing, but it seems it doesn't work, and they're taken to the Stone.
This is actually the first time we’ve seen Liandrin in this book, so the chapter has quite a job to do in reintroducing her as someone very dangerous now that she has no reason to hide. And it definitely accomplishes that, while also nicely sidestepping the potentially problematic setup of the girls all being captured for the men to save. Nynaeve is able to get some good hits in, and we also hear that Egwene almost had to be killed before she stopped fighting, so they retain our respect.
