Even to the end, Lang is a dick.

Also, we gain our next party member in this chapter, this one an old ally from the last game! We're gonna have a lot of archers in this party...

Chapter 6 - Nest of Evil: Finished.

Base: We've gained access to the Drill Grounds, but no one needs it right now, so we can leave it be. The only talk is Gordin and Lyra (2), wherein Gordin attempts to change his speech patterns to seem more dignified, but it just weirds out Lyra. He wonders if perhaps he might change his look, and contemplates growing a beard, the image of which Lyra finds amusing. Gordin still lacks a solution to his "look more dignified/imposing" problem. How's Everyone yields absolutely nothing of interest to me. Inventory stuff is managed, since we purchased some steel bows last chapter, and Ogma and Julian join us again, though Julian only for thief stuff.

First Half

Marth & Ogma: Chilled out until their part came.

Julian: Opened the door to the furthest treasure chest, receiving a large bullion and an equally large wound from the bishop up north for his troubles. He ended up fine though.

Party: Warren cleared up the mage on the east side guarding a treasure chest, while Gordin, Lyra, and Ryan held off and picked apart the armor knights and mages on the west side. They were finished off a turn after Norne and Frey came, and while Frey chilled out with Marth and Ogma (though he won't be doing anything later) Norne was fed a few kills, since she's only level 5, compared to the level 13 party. Then, Lyra and Ryan (the two with the highest defense) took to guarding the main entrance against the enemy reinforcements, with Gordin shooting down armor knights, and Norne picking off soldiers. Once that was done, the party split up.

Second Half

Marth: Traveled behind the eastern group once the bishops were dealt with, and opened their door, letting them charge in to attack.

Ogma: Recruited Samto after the western group opened their door, and then just chilled with Samto for the remainder of the chapter.

Julian: Looted the remaining two chests after the bishops were beaten, receiving a barrier staff and the Libra starshard, which grants +2 luck.

Gordin & Norne Attacked the eastern side, Norne first clearing up the bishop with Swarm and the one with physic, handing the key that one dropped to Marth. They charged in the turn after the other group, and dealt with the mage on their side while the other group dealt with their group of armor knights. Once they reached the armors, they drew them in, but they proved a bit sturdier than expected, even for Gordin. He took down one, but the other slipped by and whacked Norne, before he too was defeated by them both.

Lyra, Ryan, & Warren: Took care of the western side, charging in after Lyra opened the door to immediately draw out the armors, Ryan taking care of that. They picked off the two, though they took a couple turns to do that, so Warren got stabbed at that point. They soon dealt with their foes, and once everything was done, they grouped up with Gordin and Norne and prepared to take down Lang.

Lang: Fell to a collective, multi-turn effort by the party, with Gordin being the one who delivered the finishing blow. Norne was sadly unable to damage him even with a steel bow, but he eventually fell regardless. And, as a final act of douchiness, Lang leaves us one final present upon his defeat. When Gordin struck him down, Lang gave him Cancer.

Afterwards: Wendell tells us about the starshards being the shattered pieces of the once mighty Starsphere, and we learn that there is a group of mercenaries hunting us, leading to preparations to fend them off.

Up Next: We prepare to fight off a fierce Mercenary Squad that aims to crush us after our long fought battle.

Ah, Samto. It took me a while to figure out how to recruit him, even with serenesforest's recruitment guide. I was like, "Where's this 'Samto' guy? The only person with a portrait I see is Navarre, in the corner." I eventually found out that 'Navarre' is Samto. Guess the joke's on me that time on relying on a guide, when someone playing blind would immediately think to talk to Navarre.

Yeah, that's the one situation where the guide can mess with you, since they don't mention that Samto is actually "Navarre". I'm just glad there is generally always a talk about any characters that can be recruited in the base, or I'd likely have missed a few people here or there, simply out of not knowing how to recruit them.

OK, I laughed at Lang giving Cancer.

And yeah, I never got why the guides don't point out that Samto is Nabarl. Do they expect folks to just know?

I think they would expect you to figure out "Navarre is mentioned -> Ogma/Caeda join you -> Samto needs them to be recruitded -> Navarre is Samto", but it seems to require a bit of a logical leap for that to be gained. I do note that "Navarre" is acting a bit strange, since he seems scared when Ogma is mentioned, but aside from that, there isn't much to show he isn't the real Nsvarre.
