Now begins the senseless murder of my own soldiers...

This time, for the sake of getting Norne as well as Gordin!

So yeah, here's how everything went down in the Prologue before we get archers.

Prologues 1-3: Finished.

Marth & Abel: Killed everything. The end.

Prologue 4: Finished.

Beginning: Sacrificed Cain and Frey to the Sable Order, since I need two dead units before the end of the chapter or else I can't get a second archer. Frey rode in to valiantly get impaled by them, and Cain cosplayed as Marth to lure them away.

Jagen: Meatshielded for Gordin when they were still in the little compound that we found him in.

Gordin Soloed his way through the chapter once we got him, soaking in the experience from the enemies front line after they opened the door thanks to Jagen's meatshielding. The pegasus knight reinforcements also helped. He then just sort of stomps on the remaining foes, and Marth grabs him a steel bow from the village, which he uses to take down the enemy captain.

Captain: Engages in a ranged duel with Gordin, which Gordin prevails in thanks to his steel bow.

Ending: Marth seizes, Draug comes to lead him off, and Norne walks in and joins the party! Two archers now. Cain is then found out for the fake he is, and dies praying for Marth's good fortune.

Alright then, that was a pretty easy start. And now we have two archers, which is all we'll have for a bit, especially until chapter 4, when Reclassing becomes available and we can fill in some empty slots.

Up Next: Chapter 1, nothing much to see, although we get Caeda, who I will likely use as a reclass unit for later. She can't fight until then though.

Comment Question: Would you guys count Ballisticians as bow units? They have their own weapon type, but they are commonly archer related in other games, and I was wondering what you guys thought.

What exactly does a Ballistician do other than operate Ballistae?

You should count Ballisticians. They kill flyers and you need all the help you can get, besides.

@Montago: not much, but due to them being archer exclusive siege weapons in almost all other games where they aren't their own class, I was wondering what you guys thought about the idea of including them.

@Doctrain: Mostly, I want to include them since this seems like the only group they could really be part of save for possibly a "Misc." units group, but that would only include them, Xane (Woo, a third ballistician, since where on earth will I get another dragon stone for him to use?), and the dragons. Honestly, I'm not terribly concerned about them, but if most people would be fine with their inclusion, I think it'd be fun to bring them along as well.

I count Ballistician as bow units, though this is mainly because in games where they aren't units, other bow units use the ballista.

Xane can't imitate Manaketes anyway.

Time for Trivia!: The bow you got from the village was probably Norne's.

Cain (or rather, the canon sacrifice, Frey) lives btw, but this wouldn't be shown until the sequel...which we never got! Huzzah!

Alright then, I think I'll use them then. Thanks for the input!

I suppose that makes sense. He's apparently a manakete who can't shift anymore, like Gotoh, so it'd be kinda cheap if he could just mimic one for the same effect.

Yeah, the conversation from that village basically mentions Norne, now that I think of it.

Oh, they do? That's pretty cool, and hey, the translation patch for New Mystery of the Emblem will be finished soon, so eventually we will get to play it.
