I guess that means I've gotten the true, true ending then?

Suddenly, the Dragon Temple starts to collapse! Roy tells the others to leave, and that he will take care of the rest. Cut to outside, and Roy runs through the entrance to the temple, meeting the party as they await his arrival. Merlinus is glad he's alright, and Roy is simply in awe that the temple fell apart. Merlinus thinks it's due to the temples age and the ferocity of the battles, which the structure simply couldn't stand. Merlinus notices Roy is carrying someone on his back, and asks who it is. Roy remembers her, and asks Merlinus for a favor...

And thus, the battle known as the Great Movement of Bern was put to an end.

After Bern's surrender, Etruria dismantled its government, but after careful consideration, avoided directly administering its reconstruction.

With Roy's help, Guinevere took the throne, and the New Kingdom of Bern was established. And on the day of her crowning...

The long months of war came to a close...

Roy congratulates Guinevere on her crowning, but she admits that there is still much work to be done in restoring her country. Roy apologizes, knowing that her association with Etruria and the fact that their army was a major factor in defeating Zephiel will likely paint her in a dark light, making it seem as though she joined to seize power. Guinevere is adamant in restoring her country and regaining the trust of the people, and Roy assures her that he will be there to help, should she ask. Guinevere asks Roy what he is going to do now, and he says he will return to Pherae, so that he may check on his father, and fix up the areas destroyed by war. Guinevere notes that with Roy's ability, he could easily reach a high seat in the Etrurian court, and this flusters him greatly. She laughs, and notes that the people of Pherae are lucky to have a leader such as Roy for them in the future.

A soldier comes in and tells Guinevere that the ceremony is about to begin. Guinevere asks Roy to accompany her, seeing as how he is the one who allowed her to bring her country back from the hate-fueled war led by Zephiel. Roy agrees, and the two walk out of the throne room.

Later, in Arcadia...

Roy speaks with the elder, mentioning that Fa is as energetic as usual, while the elder notes that she is being allowed outside more. Roy asks about the girl he sent here, and the elder sadly responds that, while they were able to restore her soul, she still won't do anything of her own volition. The elder is sad that the Arcadian's were unable to save her when she was first kidnapped, but he will do his best to return her to normal.

Now with Fa and Idoun, Fa tries to teach Idoun, showing her a tree, and trying to get some fruit by shaking it, only for it to fall on her head. This causes Idoun to laugh, which surprises Fa, but also causes her to start running around the previously emotionless girl, as she now wishes to tell Roy that Idoun laughed. Idoun follows behind her, but stops as a breeze is stirred, enjoying the breeze as it passes by.

Now Credits! While these roll, Idoun walks back to Arcadia.

And now for Final Character reviews!

Young Lion, Roy: 119 wins.

Roy turned out pretty well, all things considered. He was all around decent throughout, although his super late promotion made his usefulness lag, but he was able to catch up a bit near endgame.

Tranquil Knight, Lance: 153 wins

He was awesome throughout the game, and considering I got him at the start, that's a pretty solid record. Fast, strong, and decently durable, he was always able to get the job done.

Anima Child, Lugh: 170 wins

This kid started off a bit slowly, due to his general durability issues, but he turned out to be a really powerful fighter, with crazy amounts of versatility and power. Of course, he was still always frail, but his avoid at least got pretty good. He also gets an epilogue thing, so that's good.

Saint of Bern, Ellen: 25 wins

She was the last to class change, aside from Roy, and this put a bit of a damper on her usefulness. Still, in the end, she was an invaluable unit thanks to her staff abilities, and she's saved me dozens of time. Easily the most frail member of the team, and a bit slow, but her support with Lugh helped the both of them.

Wounded Tiger, Dieck: 145 wins

All around, one of the strongest physical fighters on the team, he was never unable to take down an enemy, save for the midgame, where his speed started to fall behind. Still, he was able to recover somewhat, and was always quite helpful. Also one of the most durable members of the party.

Lone Swordsman, Rutger: 135 wins

Rutger never disappointed, except in that chapter I recruited him in (singlehandedly causing me 4 resets, which is certainly something). He's always been fast, strong, liable to eviscerate the enemy with a critical, and unable to take a hit to save his life. Of course, the last concern stops mattering once supports came in, and his avoid flew through the roof.

Unruly Princess, Clarine: 51 wins

Clarine was always an odd one. She was obscenely fast and lucky, and her supports with Dieck and Rutger basically made her invincible thanks to her huge avoid, but of all things, her magic was actually one of her weaker points. She eventually got better, I do believe with an Energy Ring to help along the way, and her staff utility and passable magical ability (mostly due to enemies always having low resistance as well) made her very helpful throughout.

Doe of the Plains, Sue: 147 wins

Sue became about as helpful as Lance when it came to direct combat, her high movement and bows allowing her to take down annoying foes before they could cause any trouble, and her great skill, speed, and good strength assuring that she could take out many enemies. Her defenses were a tad low though, but she was never bad at dodging.

Crimson Wings, Miledy: 123 wins

Miledy was a bit of a latecomer into the team, and she took some training before she hit her stride, but once she did? Oh did she hit it. She had low resilience, but her defense was enormous, and her strength, skill, and speed even higher, making her a flying juggernaut that could crush many a foe.

Now there's just some C Gs for viewing pleasure, including one of Sue riding in Sacae, an awesome one of Roy and Zephiel battling it out, and one of Guinevere's crowning as the new queen of Bern.

My tactician Rankings

  • Tactics - C
  • Survival - A
  • EXP - A
  • Weapon - E (how does that rank even work?)
  • Time - B
  • Funds - C

and finally, B overall.

Honorable mention goes to Geese and Percival, the two side party members, who helped me throughout the game. They were both powerful fighters, but very inaccurate and generally just didn't measure up to the rest of the party.

Just one thing, the translation I used got really lazy with some of the Epilogue titles for the characters. Roy was Pheraen Prince, Lance was Green Knight, and Dieck, as well as Rutger, Sue, Clarine, and quite a few of the non-party characters, was just their initial class name. I looked up on Serenes what the actual ones were, since I kind of figured those were wrong. The only ones I used were Miledy's, which was Crimson Wings, since it was the only good one and was close enough to her true title anyways, and Lugh's, since his was just his normal title rearranged a bit.

All in all, I found Sword of Seals to be really fun. The game wasn't really what I'd call challenging in the same way as I'd call, say, Radiant Dawn challenging, but the map design was top notch, and the enemy usage was quite nice. The difficulty came more from the enemy staff wielders and ambush spawning reinforcements, rather than any truly powerful foes or anything of the like. Still, it did surprise me quite often, and I enjoyed the fresh story and the new tricks the game tried to pull on me, which always kept me observant and on my toes.

So, now that this is done, I want to ask you guys. Did you prefer this writing style, or did you prefer the style I used in my Tellius games run? I want to know, since I wouldn't mind using either style, and want to know which one you guys would rather read. Do know that some of the stuff I used in the first style, such as VS Sections and Comment Questions (of course the latter shows up simply by me asking questions) could be used just as well in this style.

And for a second question, what game do you guys want me to liveblog next? I won't be liveblogging my RD Draft, since I started last and don't want to slow the whole thing down (and plus, the Tellius games were done fairly recently), so I wish to ask you guys what you'd want me to do next, just like after the Tellius games.

  • Bow only run of Shadow Dragon

  • Ordinary playthrough of Sacred Stones

  • Blind playthrough of Genealogy of the Holy War

Also, regardless of choice, I'll be going on a bit of a hiatus until I finish the RD draft, but will get started with the next run soon after. See you guys in a while!

...I want to see you do FE 4 blind actually. Since FE 4 is so different, it might be fun.

I liked the style you used for the RD playthrough, with he versus sections and such, but this was nice too.

I enjoyed following your adventures with a game I have knowledge of, kind of wish I'd been playing the Tellius installments while you blogged them. Either format's fine with me!

To contradict that statement, Shadow Dragon or Genealogy would be cool since I haven't played them. (The difference being that you haven't either; well, Genealogy at least.)

So 1 vote Sacred Stones, 1 vote Genealogy, and... Which game would you prefer I do of the two you'd like to see, Montago?

I'll go with Genealogy as a tie-breaker in case no one else votes.

Alright then, so Genealogy with 2 votes and Sacred Stones with 1.

Voting is going to be open until I finish the RD draft, whenever that may be (at least a week or two more, if I had to put out an estimate), so there's still plenty of time.

I'd like to see Genealogy too. And just like with this run, I'll probably play kind of alongside you, even though I've never played before.

The whole our runs coincide wasn't intentional, it just kind of happened.

I vote Genealogy, mainly because it's my favorite Fire Emblem, and the fact that its blind means that I'll be sure to peek in every so often.

Having finished my RD Draft today, I'm going to be starting my next run soon. Voting is thus over, and Genealogy wins with 4 votes. All things going smoothly, I should be able to start the game tomorrow.
