So apparently, two people died because I couldn't be arsed to open a door.

Seriously, if you don't at least open the door that Brom and Kieran are in, they don't show up after the chapter is finished, and when Neph is talking to Sephiran, she implies that Brom was killed. I feel like a lazy douche now.

Chapter 10 - Prisoner Release: Finished.

Ike, Soren & Volke: They were the first group that went sneaking into the castle, they ran around, out of sight of the guards, and eventually making it into a corner where they couldn't be spotted by a guard.

Mordecai & Mist: Second group to go through, Mordecai carried Mist through the area to avoid her being seen and getting attacked. They eventually reached the spot, but didn't notice that they were right on the edge of a guards line of sight, and they blew the groups cover before they could get set up in the treasure cell.

Whole Group: After that unfortunate mishap, the group piled into the cell, Volke having picked the lock and letting the group in, while Ike, Soren and Mordecai took out the people who were already nearby. After the initial wave of foes was down, Mordecai guarded the cell door, and Soren and Mist gave him support. He took out the vast majority of the castle garrison, but his gauge ran out before he could finish off the rest of the guards, so Ike took over and fought back the remaining guards. The group then headed towards the exit and Mordecai fought off Danomill.

Danomill: Fought with Mordecai, who actually had a bit of trouble killing him. He and Mordecai pretty much just traded blows for three rounds, and thanks to some healing from Mist, Mordecai ended up without much pain by the end.

VS Danomill: The Jailer of the building stepped towards Mordecai, looking at him in an odd fashion, as though Mordecai were some kind of prize...

"Oh, dear heavens... Look at the size of this one! Easy now—don't move. I'll not let such a trophy escape."

Mordecai felt unsettled by the man, who seemed as though he enjoyed the suffering he brought to the prisoners here.

"Your soul is twisted. It saddens me."

The man drew a very large sword, and brought it down far faster than Mordecai expected, the blade catching him in the foreleg. Mordecai charged the man, slamming into him and attempting to slash his leg, though he was stopped by the armor. The man took advantage of the failed strike, and before Mordecai could get back, he had driven his sword into Mordecai's leg, bringing out a roar of pain. Mordecai was able to pull away, but he had trouble moving, and was worried about how to stop the jailer, until he felt the wound on his leg begin closing, and the pain fading. He turned and saw the little girl who had traveled with him when they were sneaking through the castle, Mist, behind him, focusing intently and holding her staff over his wound.

Mordecai, filled with energy now that his wounds were healed, leaped over the large man who was now advancing on them, and slammed his side into the back of the mans legs. He toppled, and Mordecai pinned him down, and followed up with a quick slash to the throat, to kill the man quickly.

Up Next: I visit a very racist Crimean town, meet some Vigilantes, and fight my way to a boat, while trying to avoid the Black Knight. Sounds like fun.

You know, I don't think I ever alerted the guards in this chapter. Then again, that's because I always relied on the same guide, too chicken to try and guess my way through a stealth section. One of these days, perhaps if there's ever a draft run of this game on the forums, I should purposely alert the guards just to spice up the playthrough.

Seriously? Wow, so you've never gotten Brom or Kieran? The stealth section itself isn't really guessing. Anyone with 6 or more movement will be able to slip their way out of the guards sight range, and so long as you check to see exactly how far a guards sight range extends, you should be fine. The only reason I got caught was because I forgot Mordecai on a space just at the edge of a guards sight.

Oh, I've gotten Brom and Kieran before. I've opened their door, had (I think) Oscar initiate brief conversation with Kieran, and then left the two huddled in a corner and out of sight while the other guys slip past the guards and make their escape. As long as the door's open, it doesn't matter if you order them to head towards the exit or not.

Oh, okay. I wasn't aware that it was possible to open that door without alerting a guard. I thought they were alerted simply upon seeing an open door. I can make use of this next time...

It took me something like 35 turns but I managed to get everyone out without being detected—that includes Sephiran (despite not being necessary for anything) and Kieran (used the Direct command)—, all the treasure, and the boss dead on my replay.
