Well, I guess it's time to head into Baron Castle.
...Or we could be blocked from entry by the guards.
Soldier: No one may pass... Orders from the king...
Ceodore: It's me! Ceodore!

Ceodore: Can't you see who I am!?
Hooded Man: Let's go, Ceodore.
Ceodore: Huh!?
Hooded Man: We're wasting our time here.
We head back to the fields outside the castle.
Ceodore: Those guards were strange... So pale. And what's more, they didn't even recognize me.
Hooded Man: Just like before...
Ceodore: Huh!?
Hooded Man: We can sneak into the castle through the waterway in town.
Ceodore: You seem to know a lot about this... but isn't the way locked?
Hooded Man: Someone has got to have the key, right? Let's have a look around the town.
Back into town, then. We eventually head to Cid's house. Cid's not here, but his family is.
Cid's Daughter: Oh! Prince Ceodore! The waterway key? I'm holding on to it for my father, actually.
She gives it to us.
Cid's Daughter: My father should be in the castle, right? Tell him to stop pushing himself so hard, okay, Prince Ceodore?
Well, into the Ancient Waterway we go! Enemies are still the same as in FFIV, so Thunder spam is the way to go. Except when Electrofish or any kind of crocodile is around.
A monster in a box in the second room gives us the very nice Coral Sword. This very nice Lightning-elemental sword goes to Ceodore.
Later on, we find a Soma Drop. Once again, leaving these for end of tale, but it's probably going to the Hooded Man.
And as soon as that, we're out. We head into the castle.
Ceodore: Father! Mother!?
Hooded Man: Ceodore... Your parents are in the castle?
Ceodore: Yes.
Hooded Man: What are their names?
Ceodore: My father's name is Cecil, and my mother is Rosa.
Hooded Man: !
Ceodore: What's wrong?
Hooded Man: No, nothing...
Ceodore: I'm going ahead to check up on them!
Hooded Man: Wait!
Ceodore: What is it?
Hooded Man: Watch yourself...
Ceodore: I will...
Ceodore rushes inside. Guess we'll be without him for a while.
Black Mage: Um...
Hooded Man: What is it?
White Mage: Well, our mission was only to accompany you on your way to Baron...
Hooded Man: Yes, that's right.

White Mage: We need to bring word of this crisis to Mysidia.

But that black mage is the only person in this tale capable of Black Magic!

Fine. The two mages leave.

Well, let's head into the castle dungeon.
...Lots of unconscious soldiers?
Hooded Man: What on...? It's not opening. Ceodore is in danger! I need to hurry!
We head for the throne room. Huh. Empty. We head to leave.
???: You are...?
Hey, it's Cecil!
Hooded Man: You're all right...
Cecil: Of course I am. I need to be if Baron is going to continue keeping peace in this world.
Hooded Man: You've changed...
Cecil: Do I know you?
Hooded Man: ...
Cecil: If you're just a stray beggar, then please leave immediately. I am a very busy man.
Hooded Man: Pardon me...
Out we go. That didn't seem very Cecil-like. We meet Ceodore again in the middle of the castle.
Ceodore: There's no one here!
Hooded Man: Yeah... looks like it.
Ceodore: They... did the monsters get them all?
Hooded Man: Looks to be that way...
Ceodore: I couldn't even find Cid's airship, the Enterprise...
Hooded Man: You didn't? Let's just pray he got out safely.
Ceodore: I hope so...
Hooded Man: Now is not the time to dawdle.
Ceodore rejoins us. Let's just head out the front door.
Soldier: How did you get in here? Leave now.
We head into the field again.
Hooded Man: So, what are you planning to do now?
Ceodore: I'm going to look for the Enterprise!
Hooded Man: I see.
Ceodore: ...What about you?
Back in the castle...
Soldier: Your orders, my liege...
Cecil: There was an uninvited guest here earlier. I don't know how he got in, but he did.
Soldier: Our orders, then...?
Cecil: I have never met the man before, but there was something about him... Go after him. The kingdom of Baron must protect the world's peace.
Soldier: Understood, Your Majesty...
What the hell, Cecil? Back outside...
Hooded Man: Looks like our stay here has been cut short.
Ceodore: Huh!?
Ceodore, stop saying "Huh!?". Please.
Hooded Man: Come on, let's go.
Ceodore: Go where?
Hooded Man: We're going northwest... to Mist Cave. Hurry.
We learn Cross Slash after this. Cross Slash combines Ceodore's and the Hooded Man's attacks on one enemy for 7 MP, as long as Ceodore isn't wielding a bow (which he shouldn't anyway).
Well, that's all for now. Next time, we head for Mist.
