Okay, with no suggestions, I'm going to bring Rydia, Rosa and Kain along. We'll need Rydia and Rosa later so we may as well get their levels up, and I like Kain. A teleporter at the end of B10 takes us to B11, a very mechanical looking floor. The enemies here are mostly Clockwork enemies, which can be given a Confuse-like effect by hitting them with Thunder.
From the start, we head as far north as we can, then west, then as far south as we can to find a Poison Axe. I think the name for that's self explanatory. We then head north, west, and north as far as we can to get inside.
We immediately head outside through the west door. We then head as far south as possible, netting us the Moonring Blade, a nice boomerang which unfortunately is outclassed by the better katanas, meaning it's not worth it unless we bring more than one of the ninjas.
The (purple) Save Point is just east of here. We rest up, avoiding the cutscene for now, and head south, following the path to a Crystal. When we approach it, three orbs appear and a siren starts up.
Ceodore: This feels so strange...
Kain: Oh, no... They can even resurrect this!?
Rosa: A warning alarm!
Gee, Rosa, I could not have guessed that, considering when we walked up to something like this the last... however many times this has happened, a boss was summoned.
Rydia: This force... I've felt this before.
Golbez: (The Giant...!)
The Crystal shatters, and reveals the CPU.
Golbez: There it is!
Rydia: What is the meaning of this!?
Kain: The Giant's heart!
Rosa: They've revived even this!?
The CPU is functionally identical to his FFIV version. The Defense Node's heals are more dangerous than the Attack Node's lasers, so we kill it first and leave the Attack Node alone, as killing both triggers instant death counters. The CPU uses Reflect, so Rydia will mainly be using Sylph. Just like in FFIV, I can auto battle much of this fight, with Rosa using Curaga, Rydia using Sylph, Kain using Jump and the other two using Attack. The Attack Node falls shortly after the CPU.
Ceodore: Did... did that machine come from the Crystal as well?
Kain: (Even the Giant of Babil?)
Rosa: Could the Crystal actually recreate such a device?
Rydia: What is happening to us here!?
Golbez: (They've even rebuilt the Giant's control core. Why?)
Our rewards for winning are the Yoichi Bow, a very strong bow, and the Yoichi Arrows, very strong arrows. Neither have any special effect, but are quite good for damage.
We head back to the Save Point and trigger the cutscene. That night, Ceodore approaches Golbez.
Golbez: You need something?
Ceodore: N-no...
Golbez: You're... Ceodore, yes?
Ceodore: Uh... yes.
Golbez: I had no idea he had a son at all, much less one your age.
Well, do you know how hard it is to deliver mail to a spaceship moon?
Ceodore: I, er... They say you are my father's elder brother.
Golbez: Was.
Ceodore: What?
Golbez: I brought the world to the brink of destruction. Since then, I've hidden myself away from the universe.
Ceodore: So what made you come back now, then?
Golbez: What?
Ceodore: Why did you return to us during this time of crisis?
Golbez: ...
Ceodore: Did you... come to help us, then? To help my father?
Golbez: I did.
Ceodore: Um... Do you mind if I ask you one more thing?
Golbez: What is it?
Ceodore: What is it like on the moon that you call home?
Golbez: Are you curious?
Ceodore: Well, of course. Part of my lineage is Lunarian, after all...
That's it. No Band this time. Only Rydia needs to come next update, so four slots are open to suggestion. If I may make a suggestion, I'm fine with keeping this current party though, as aside from Kain, we will need to use them later. Se you next time.
