Well, we have several places to choose from to start our mission. Let's start easy. We head to Fabul.

Monk: Who goes there!?

Monk: Wait! I know them.

Rydia: It's been a very long time.

Monk: Lady Rydia!

Monk: And Edge of Eblan!

Rydia: The situation with the moon has thrown the entire world into disarray. How have things been in Fabul?

Monk: I fear that the Sylphs have been laying siege to our castle.

Rydia: What!?

Monk: The moon must be affecting them in some unfathomable way.

Edge: Seems to be that way.

Monk: But enough of this. Please, come in.

The Sylphs are indeed inside the walls of the castle. Talking to them has them demand to see Yang and fight us. We don't want to fight them. The shops are open, but monk weapons aren't exactly useful to us.

We grab some items from the towers, little of which is actually useful, then head for the throne room.

Rydia: Sheila!

Sheila: Oh, Rydia!

Duke Consort: And here is Lord Edge, too.

Rydia: Where is Yang?

Sheila: Away on business, sadly.

Edge: I haven't seen the princess around either...

Sheila: ...

Duke Consort: The two of them boarded a ship headed for Baron.

Golbez: ...

Chancellor: I'm afraid that's as much as we know for now...

Sheila: What of it? I'm not worried about them. My husband is more capable of protecting our daughter. Why, knowing him, I'm sure he's out there busting heads as we speak!

Edge: No doubt, no doubt. The King of Fabul is a strong man indeed.

Rydia: We'll find him! I promise you!

Sheila: Hold up!

Rydia: Yes?

Sheila: I want you to have this.

She gives us the Frying Pan.

Sheila: My husband needs this right now. As for Ursula...

She also gives us a Ladle.

Edge: What, no knife this time?

Sheila: What's that? You need another one? Sorry, but I'm all out of stock.

Damn. Golbez, that knife must still be somewhere in the Subterrane after we threw it straight into Zeromus, why didn't you find it?

Sheila: Anyway, I want all of you to be careful out there!

Well, nothing else to do here. Let's try Kaipo. This place is also overrun by the Sylphs. Maybe Yang and Ursula are here. No improvements in the shops, but it does remind me that we have a Beret that I can give to Edge for some extra Magic Defence.

Anyway, we check out Tellah and Anna's graves.

Rydia: (Tellah... Anna... Once again, the world is facing a chaotic maelstrom of war and violence... Now, more than ever, I hope we can receive your loving protection... And I hope you are there for Edward, too, wherever he may be.)

Tellah and Anna appear in the oasis.

Golbez: !

They vanish.

Rydia: (Tellah... Anna... May you continue to grant me your loving protection!)

Well, let's check in with the old couple that keeps managing to save our party members that get sick in the desert. They're talking about finding a man and his daughter currently staying with them. Sure enough, it's Yang and Ursula, currently asleep.

We head over to the beds.

Rydia: Yang!

Yang: Ur...sula...

Edge: Hope this does the trick.

We get out the Frying Pan.

Luca: Wh-whoa! What are you...?

Edge hits Yang with it.

You used the Frying Pan!

Yes, this message is seriously in the game

Yang: Ngh... Mmph... Come on, Sheila, let me sleep a little longer...

He wakes up.

Rydia: Yang!

Luca: This is just ludicrous...

Yang: Rydia! Edge!

Edge: You two are quite the couple, you know that?

Yang: Ursula! Where's Ursula!?

Rydia: Don't worry. She's right next to you.

Yang: Do not fret over me! You need to wake up Ursula!

Rydia: Ursula!

Edge: This is Yang's daughter?

Rydia: She looks so pale and gaunt. Something must be done... and fast.

Yang: Ursula!

Rydia: Don't overexert yourself, Yang.

Ursula: ...

Luca: She's moving!

Edge: Hey, Rydia, can you help me deal with this? I don't have the nerve to hit a lady.

Rydia gets out the Ladle and hits Ursula with it.

You used the Ladle!

Ursula: Mm... Oh, Mother... Is Father out training again?

Yang: Ursula!

Ursula: Father...

Edge: A mother's love triumphs over all, huh?

Luca: What the heck is up with this family?

The Sylphs appear.

Yang: The Sylphs!

Sylph: Yang... You were willing to risk your life for the sake of your child.

Sylph: As much as it pains me to say it, you were far stronger than any of us.

Rydia: You...

Sylph: Thanks to you, we have finally returned to normal.

Sylph: For now, both of you must rest. We will gladly lend you our powers!

Yang: Thank you, my Sylphs!

We get the Sylph summon. One down. If you fight and kill too many Sylphs in Eblan and Kaipo, you don't get this.

Edge: You've got fans in high places, don't you, Yang?

Some time passes.

Rydia: So this malaise has even reached the Eidolon King himself...

Luca: Rydia...

Edge: Come on, Rydia. Your bonds with the Eidolons aren't gonna lost to something like this, are they?

Rydia: ...You're right. I will bring them all back!

Yang: So you are headed to Baron as well?

Rydia: Yes.

Edge: Unfortunately, Baron Castle is protected by the same glow we saw covering the Tower of Babil.

Rydia: We'll find a way. If we can combine the Eidolons' powers with ours, anything is possible.

Yang: Let's get moving, then.

Yang gets out of bed.

Ursula: Father!

Edge: I'm afraid not, Yang. Not you.

Yang: What?

Edge: You need to recover first. You've got a wife and daughter relying on you. Remember that?

Yang: Yes... You are right about that.

Meanwhile, at Baron...

Cecil: How delightful it is to see all of you again.

Kain: Cecil...

Mysterious Girl: We had a promise. Let's have the Crystals.

Despite the fact that nobody who currently has their own body agreed to this, she takes the three Crystals from us anyway.

Kain: !

Cecil: With this, all of the Crystals are back in our grasp.

Kain: "Back," you say?

Cecil: Yes.

Rosa: Cecil!

Kain: Stay back, Rosa.

We cut back to the Falcon. That's all for now. Next time, another Eidolon.

No stats, we didn't fight anything this update, and the change in equipment I put on Edge is minor.

The Mysterious Girl can't tell Holy Dragoon Kain apart from Dark Kain. I would say this is evidence that she's actually built to tell people apart by aura, but a reflection Made Of Evil should show up significantly different from a Holy Warrior in those senses.

I think she's just oblivious in this case. As far as we know, she doesn't know about the two Kains, and aside from the armour they presumably look the same, so she's probably just assuming it's the same Kain. Someone should inform her that nobody ever seems to change their clothes on this planet unless they have a Heel Face Turn

Must get smelly.

Though come to think about it, Rydia did get new clothes after she returns from the land of summons. I guess the old ones no longer fit.

Okay, Heel Face Turns and aging cause clothing changes, but that's it.
