Go To

When we last left off we stayed up very very late. So late as a mater of fact that we fainted and didn't wake up again until 9am. Through the magic of TIME TRAVEL we rewind to 4am catch some sleep a bit earlier, so we can wake up at our normal time. Unfortunately, our luck doesn't work that way and we instead wake up at 9am, and this time we are sick to boot. So time traveling even further back try to go to bed as early as 3am, and hope that works more in our favor.

Once again we wake up at 9am, but at least we aren't sick so I decide to stop playing with time, and just get on with our day. It's the day before Electra's birthday, so we should make sure to take the time to craft that second gauntlet today. First though we may as well do our morning routine of going next door to the inn to check the board for new jobs. While making our way there I also notice that our stamina and health are not in peek condition, so I decide that today we better take it easy.

The only things on the board are a story line job from Electra to deal with some boulders that have been causing sailors a number of accidents, and two more basic jobs. One of them is still the one with Kelsey asking if we can get him some grass, and the other is a job from Joe to beat him in a fishing contest. None of those seem to hold much promise for today, but just to make sure I have at least one active quest, I take the job from Electra with the logic that rocks at sea will be dealt with using my Golem's stamina and not mine.

Before leaving the inn, Lily asks if we have a moment to chat and we enter into YACS. Luckily by this point they haven't been hitting me every five seconds so I'm actually interested in this one. The conversation centers around Lily welcoming us to the island and offering to cook us an official welcome meal. As she starts to walk to the kitchen she trips over her own feet, then gets back up and finishes her “epic” journey.

Just as she is about to start cooking her two sisters show up and usher her out of the kitchen, and say that they'll do the cooking and that she should instead keep talking with me. Back in the main area of the inn Yivvy and Syntic talk with Lily telling her that she should take up cooking in secret so she can surprise her sisters with her new talent. The other two sisters then come out and serve us some food that oddly does nothing for our stamina or health. At the end of the sequence though our friendship level with Lily has increased to level 1. Even though level 1 seems fairly low, this technically makes her our best friend.

From there I make my way to the barn to brush all my animals, and milk my cows. Then it's off to Spring Island to tend to my working monsters. To finish up with my daily chores, I release the spirit from my inventory to improve my island just a bit more. Now it's off to the mansion to make a birthday gift. Once the gauntlets are made I look over my options on things that I can create and see that if I go to the store and get some yarn, that I can use that and my fleece to attempt to make some handknit hats.

This though is a level 12 recipe so I'm fairly sure it's going to be next to impossible for me to actually create. I figure it can't hurt to much trying though as I wasn't really planning on doing to much else with the fleece I have on me. Unfortunately, even though I'm sure I've seen the store selling yarn before it seems right now he is completely out of stock. Being that I was really in the mood to craft something, I instead head back over to the inn and heat up my milks, so that I can say I did something productive today.

Once again while I talk with Lily a bit while I sell my produce to her, and she informs me that from now on I can get a part time job here at the Inn if I don't have anything else going on with the day. However being that I've been pushing myself so hard, I head over to the bath house and thankfully find that I am able to get rested up to both full health and stamina.

Remembering about the job I have at this point, I head back to the mansion and talk with Electra about the boulders at sea. Seems like a fairly straight forward job, but my eyes practically change to money signs when she says my reward will be 5000G. I'm so motivated by this reward, that by 12:30 I've not only gone and cleared the boulders, but also moved Delzbin back to the island I've been using for adventures. I quickly head back over to Electra to gather my reward, and then try to find a way to make Syntic do a happy dance.

My happy dance involves me going back to the inn, and taking a new quest that's just appeared. This one is from Sierra and it's something to do with a ghost that's in the ocean. While at the inn, Mako Eyes reminds me that there is a market opened up today near the church, so I decide that now is as good a time as any to see what's on sale.

Coincidentally Sierra is also up there, and she tells me about a creepy yellow light that that she seen out at sea that she thinks is a ghost. I reminder her that there are no telephones, and that means I can't call the ghost busters. She insists I go check it out, but promises no reward. I think I'll get to that when I want to.

At the Market, James tells me that he can expand my house or my storage, both costing 10000G. I'm currently up to 9307G, and this seems like such a great deal that I decide in just a bit I'll go down to the inn and work at making some money before the market closes. Before going down though, I encounter someone new that offers a special sort of service for me. She is Jocelyn and claims to be the daughter of Indiana Jones, and has followed in his foot steps. If I bring her artifacts I find, she'll appraise it for me. Finally Joe is selling some weapon abilities for 1k a pop.

As the thing that appeals to me the most right now is that house upgrade, I jump back to the inn and start playing the milk game. 12 milks later, I've increased my funds up to 11059G and after some brief consideration I decide to eat some of my squid to restore my stamina and go another round of milk. Six milk more and I'm up to 12103G, so I head back to the Market to get not just my house upgrade but also a special move from Joe.

Once I've purchased the house upgrade, I see that I'm able to now purchase more things like a weapon and accessory area, a crafting area, and a cooking area. As I've been doing mostly cooking, I take a glance at the prices there. I see that I can get a Basic Kitchen for 1000G, a Basic Oven for 1000G, a Basic Mixer for 500G, an Advanced Mixer for 1500G, a Basic Steamer for 500G, and lastly an Advanced Steamer for 1500G. There are also a number of grayed out things that I can't even consider getting yet.

As I still have 2103G I decide to get the basic kitchen, and then go talk with Joe about that special attack. From him, I purchase Wind Blast the Dual Blades Ability that he has on hand. Back at the house, I see that my house is significantly larger, but all I can do with the added area is use a cutting board to make some various uncooked dishes provided I had the ingredients. The one recipe that jumps out at me is the pickle recipe needing only 1 cucumber and level 7 in cooking. While I don't have any cucumbers right now, that is one of the plants that my Goblins are working on growing. Of course I'm not sure if I'll even use that recipe as it only has a value of 90G and I have no idea how valuable the Cucumbers are on their own. Though I suppose even if it was worth the exact same, it would still be useful simply for the skill gain.

Now though we have a problem. I have only 103G because of all the things I've been buying, and I would like to buy some more of that inexpensive stuff for my house. The reason this is a problem is that I don't even have enough money right now to get me started on the milk trick, without selling something else out my inventory.

So what I do is I sell all but one of my small fleece to raise my total money up to 499G. This gets me started on pulling in more money, though I am a bit disappointed that I didn't turn my fleece into something more valuable first. Ah well I'm sure I'll figure out something they can be turned into soon enough. After a bit of working in the kitchen I soon have just shy of 6000G, plenty to purchase all the kitchen upgrades I can right now.

Now I know a number of people consider this cheating, and would say make money in a more legit way and just take your time getting those upgrades. Personally though I do not consider it cheating, but just tedious so I will try to avoid doing it to much. Sure, you might say that I've already done it to much, but ultimately it must fall on me to make such decisions.

Though I'm in for a bit of a surprise when I get up to the market, and that is that I can NOT afford all the goodies I thought I was going to be able to. More correctly by buying the basic kitchen a number of things such as a basic pot and what not were unlocked for me to buy. Not realizing there was new things, I starting getting things down the line. So while my kitchen is upgraded it is by no means fully upgraded for this point in the game. Don't worry though, I'm not going to go back and do the milk trick more right now.

However back at my house, I see that my kitchen is looking nice. Now anything I could work on in the Inn can be worked on here, and some even more advanced dishes. On one of my earlier jobs I was given a fish as a reward, and so to break in my new kitchen I use the cutting board to make some tasty Char Sashimi.

Now though, I think I should go on some sort of adventure while I still have daylight hours, and that job of going to find a ghost seems like just the thing to do. While I don't find anything to do with a ghost, I do find something called a temporary island. Apparently it only stays up as long as Delzbin holds it up, but as soon as he lets go it sinks again. Well I guess we'll check the island out to see what we find.

On this nameless island I find fairly quickly a strange slime like monster, that I consider finding a way to tame. Not knowing anything about it though, I can't decide if I should get rid of one of my goblins or sheep and in the end decide that the slime must be something that's best to fight. I also find an ant monster, that I want to tame but because it's clumped in with other monsters I end up knocking it out. I am momentarily saddened by this, but then remember I didn't have a slot for it anyways. In the center of the island I find a treasure chest, and inside the treasure chest is a treasure chest. Yes you read that right, a chest in a chest.

But then the horrible happens, and I'm knocked out by a group of monsters. I'm not sure how they did it so quick because one moment I looked at my health and stamina bar and they had both been nearly full. The next moment I see that while my stamina is still fairly full my health is completely gone, and Yivvy is telling me to wake up. Next thing I know I'm waking up in my room at 10AM the NEXT DAY!

About the only good news is that I still have everything I had gathered from the island, and the game reminds me that someone's birthday is today. Now here's the real kicker, is you all know by now that I have no qualms about going to a previous save if something stupid like this happens. However, I don't recall having saved it all the previous day, and I know for sure I didn't save it right before going on this adventure. So I'm going to have to chalk this one up to a learning experience and move on.

For now though, I'm going to save it and we'll continue from here next time.

I'll admit, getting KO'd in such a way does seem like quite a shame. And you didn't even get anything out of it, like the time you stayed up all night long! But, if mistakes were never made, we'd have fewer things to learn from. Here's hoping that your next few in-game days are more enjoyable!
