Go To

After returning from some errands, Haruhi finally begins to witness what it is that the Host Club does.

The Prince, Suoh Tamaki flawlessly swoons three girls. Haruhi is amazed and baffled at what he does. Hibari Kyouya, the club's Vice President and cool type informs Haruhi that Tamaki is the club's most requested host and their President. The girl sitting next to him is Ayanokoji, one of Tamaki's regulars.

Shifting targets, Haruhi overhears the conversation between the Twins Hitachiin Hikaru and Kaoru and two of their customers. Hikaru teases Kaoru of trying to act like a daredevil but once began to cry. Hikaru begs for him to stop, Kaoru apologizes, saying that he was so cute while crying, and the two embrace. While the girls squeal. Once again, Haruhi is confused and informed by Kyouya that ''forbidden-love" is their schtick.

Next to the twins are the seniors, Hunny, the lovely type, and Mori, the wild type. Hunny takes a bite of cake and comments on how delicious it is. While, once again, the girls are swooning. He stands up yelling "Haru-chan!" Jumping up and embracing Haruhi, asking to join them for cake. Mori picks up Hunny by the collar and tells him to go back. Haruhi can't believe what happened, for a second it looked like Hunny...shrunk! Kyouya laughs and begins to ask if Haruhi has been seeing things. Going back to the subject, he introduces Mori as the silent type. Unamused, Haruhi goes to the door, but Kyouya warns Haruhi of all the "awesome" moments they have of him.

Haruhi couldn't believe it. The Host Club would use blackmail to keep Haruhi in check. "That's the smile of a devil." Haruhi mutters, referring to Kyouya. Tamaki intervenes and states that Haruhi will never get any customers with that attitude. Trying to give pointers, Haruhi wonders what bests describes him. Until one word comes to mind.

ANNOYING

Those words pierce Tamaki like a spear and send him flying into the wall. The other members are astounded by knocking out Tamaki. A small can falls out of Haruhi's bag as the other members wonder what it was. Haruhi explains that it is instant coffee. The hearing of these words suddenly revive Tamaki as he claims to have heard rumors of this "instant coffee" and how poor people used it by mixing it with hot water. Tamaki is willing to drink it, to the amazement of everybody in the room.

Ayanokoji passes Haruhi as she exits muttering: "Ever since you've been here, it's become a mess. Sorry, I was talking to myself." Ignoring her words, Haruhi aids Tamaki with making the instant coffee. After serving it to all the girls, it's finally closing time. While cleaning up, Haruhi wishes only to study. Tamaki questions why Haruhi can't just study at home. Haruhi explains that his Father has to work at night and sleep during the day and struggles to support the family and that his mother died 10 years ago. Tamaki breaks down in tears and decides to teach Haruhi the necessary skill to become rich: hosting. Tamaki changes Haruhi's terms for the debt to getting 100 customer requests.

One thing can only go through Haruhi's mind at the time.

"I don't want to!"

Commentary-Gah, I'm so tired. The second half of Episode 1 will be worked on tomorrow. It's late and I should be sleeping by now. Haruhi seems to get into many uncomfortable situations. For both ending so far, it ended with Haruhi's situation degrading. Hang in there!

I'm still really impressed by the similarities of the Drama and Anime. The visual effects are Animesque and definitely relate it even more to the Anime. Hunny isn't a Cute Shotaro Boy but considering that it's supposed to be (kind of) more realistic it would make sense. I mean seriously what kind of 17/18 year old hasn't gone through puberty...And I wonder if they'll every explain why he shrunk. That's got me thinking.

Well hopefully I can finish the second half tomorrow. Although I kind of already know what will happen, having read the series and such.
