Bishop Black's Journal, Entry #3

Dear Journal...yes! Third time's the charm!

After my break's finished, the first thing I did was check out that goth girl's place...stop looking at me like that, imaginary peers. It was on the way to the Mayor's office, and I would have to meet everyone eventually. The fact that she had gorgeous eyes and a cute smile were minimal factors at best, I swear!

I introduce myself, and the girl says her name's Violet. I found out the main reason she didn't move out is because her younger sister Poppy is still trying to sell flowers in the town square. She then told me that she heard the mayor wanted to see me, and I had a feeling any further relationships would be put on hold until I got through Rosy's next 'tutorial'. You know, I've had these powers for a fair bit now; .

So I waltz into Rosy's office, and she asks if I could construct a podium with the essence of Red Apples. She gets me to follow her to a small grove near one corner of town, where she has me pick up at least ten of the things even though I'll only need to use four. Picked up a few green apples and yellow orchids while I was there, and then I headed to my workshop. After making sure I was following the blueprint that Rosy passed onto me, I put the podium together, and then painted the essences on. I suppose I could've just placed apples beside the podium, but that would probably take people's attention away from the speaker.

It's gotten rather dark by the time I walk into Rosy's place again. I find her sleeping on a chair, and it suddenly dawns on me that she doesn't have a house here. Perhaps she spends so much time working here on the development of this town that she doesn't need another place to stay. That, or she's some kinda dictator that's making sure she'll never get run out of that office. Either way, I find a bunch of chairs facing a wall, and decide that the podium would fit perfectly between the two. Rosy thanks me, and rewards me by giving me a few blueprints for regular stuff; tables, beds, et cetera. I also get a fancier chair blueprint that I could paint more essences on, and...a ficus for my house.

Rosy then asks me if I could help out Poppy, who I've already learned is Violet's flower-happy sis. Before I leave her office, I act nicely towards the mayor to thank her for the plant, and I pick up a few happiness essences as a bonus. I then step outside, and see that the flower shop is just a few steps away. However, before I go inside, I kinda want to check out the hotel that's unusually grand for a village this baron. The only guy left working there is that klutz from earlier, who calls himself Buddy the bellhop. It turns out that we have some similarly nerdy interests, but he asks if I could do what the Mayor said and help out Poppy, since she needs my help more than Buddy does. I'm nice to him before I go, but I get sadness essence from him. Considering how many people must have worked here long ago, I guess he's just shocked that someone's finally treating him well.

Turns out that Poppy and Violet are as different as day and night, which is something I could've guessed from their names alone. She's spunky, she loves cute things, and she wants me to build her a new flower stand with Yellow Tulip essence. I've never been good with kids, not even when I was one myself, but I didn't want to let this little girl down. Heck, even if helping her wasn't a job forced upon me by the local government...man, that sounds twisted now that I think about it...there's just something about her face that was just south of obnoxious in the adorable department. How could you refuse a face like that?

So, I decided to gather a bunch of spare essences over in the town's small orchid, and update this journal while waiting for more tulips and apples to sprout. I doubt that anyone really needs the twenty or so Red Apples I've already amassed, but I've always believed that it's better to have more than you need than less than you need. Call me greedy, but this logic has never failed me before.
