The Moment I Liked The Game

Back at Olympus where I encounter one of the better parts of the game, the fighting tournament.

The training was a piece of cake and you know what? I liked fighting through the tournament. Took me two tries to do it, and my friends advised me to use the Aero shield so now I understand that it's actually pretty useful. But yeah, fun stuff, fun stuff.

I mean seriously, this was legitimately a lot of fun to do and it only took me two tries to get through the tournament and I loved all the themed enemy groups. The hardest fights were the armour limbs, those are always a pain.

The fight with Cerberus at the end was fantastic I have to say, though I'm not sure why Nabirius and Nic said it was difficult. I'd say it was challenging and though it required a lot of running and dodging (My specialty) I had little issue getting on Cerberus's back and knocking the tar out of the middle head while my poor companions were sadly cannon fodder.

Now Hades I have mixed feelings about. I like the character a lot, but the game doesn't do him justice. The voice is there but not the emotion, he's eyes are constantly half open and he doesn't really do all the wonderful facial movements that to match a more dynamic body and smooth voice, and he always looks like he's frowning. And while his moment with Maleficent was slightly confusing, I get the feeling he's a bit of a Lancer in this little group of Disney baddies and he wants to be the guy in charge, the main man calling all the shots. I can dig it,a little in fighting,a some back stabbing, I mean they're villains after all, technically all the Big Bad of their own series.

Though it is interesting that the villain progression has been the inept and mean Queen Of Hearts who isn't really involved, to the puppet Clayton who is like evil but very much a low level evil in comparison to the others, to a real big bad Hades. And after this it's Jafar.

My problem with this section is that it's WAY TOO SHORT! I mean it's like the game tries to give you a little taste of fun and then takes it away. Far Far away. Good bye fun Olympian fighting tournament. Bye bye, toodle-oo, adios, sayonara bye bye.

So with no where else to go sadly enough I must go back to Traverse town becuase I've apparently picked up some Gummi Ship pieces that may hopefully help me go to other worlds.

I wasn't prepared to be spending as much time there as I did though...

Olympus Coliseum is revisitable several times for various weapons, skills, items, and the Keyhole.

Also, this isn't really a spoiler and you'll probably rant about this too, but you don't fight Hades in the main story. He's an optional boss in the 4th tournament.

Olympus Coliseum is the shortest world in Kingdom Hearts, though. And it's much longer in Kingdom Hearts II.

Yep, you'll find lots of excuses to go back to the Coliseum throughout the rest of the game. Four additional tournaments, plus two bonus bosses.

It's also the only world that's been in all of the games in the series so far.

Just wait until you do Monstro. Your rage shall pierce the heavens.

Actually, Hades is more like the uninterested Sixth Ranger of the Five Bad Band. He really doesn't care about the villains' scheming; he's really out to make Herc miserable, although he's Affably Evil to everyone. And don't you knock on James Woods. Don't. You. Dare. (He's more fired up in II, by the way.)

^^I already said I loved James Wood like 2-5 installments ago. I said that the game animation wasn't good enough for his voice.
