WHAT!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAGIC IS ONLY ADDED BY THE LONG ARM OF THE PLOT?

Time to continue with the plot now that the boss has finally met it's end, hold up... incoming transmission...

Also, magic is learned after certain battles, not by leveling up. :P

BULLSPIT! BULLSPIT! BULLSPIT!

THE HELL KIND OF GAME IS THIS!? YOU CALL YOURSELF AN RPG!? YOU'RE NOT EVEN FIT TO CALL YOURSELF A SQAURE-MADE RPG!

THIS ISN'T HOW RPGS WORK! THIS IS STUPID!

No JRPG I have ever encountered ever made spells 100% plot specific, they grew on you, they grew with you, that's how powers and skills work in RP Gs, they grow as you grow, they don't grow as the plot demanded it! This is so stupid, so frikkin' asinine, so idiotic, it practically out JRPGs JRPGs, a task I never thought possible but here it is, it's doen it! It's taken linearity to the point that not even level grinding has a use! Congrats Square, you're officially:

THE BIGGEST IDIOTS IN GAME DESIGN

I mean MY GOD, Why even have a magic option in the first place if the game is just going to spit at you for doing it. Had I known this game was so frikking stereotypical that it would give you a middle finger if you even attempt to do anything beyond melee attacks, i would've picked up the stupid sword! The entire thing in the beginning was utterly pointless! It only served to screw you over for the rest of the game! EFF THAT NOISE!

This game serves only to screw you over if you like defense or if you like magic. It's so linear that it practically forces you to be melee and melee only! This game can die in a fire, i mean really, you are given the choice to Magic, Defense, or offense, and the only one that actually has any significance is offense?

Where the game designers even thinking? If this is a melee game pure adn simple why freakign bother with the choice at all? Why bother having magic in the game? The game would probably be improved if they had forgotten abut magic and skills and the staff and shield and just made you pure melee... I mean it makes sense, if Goofy is your sheildman and Donald is your mage, then obviously you're the fighter. Then why bother with the choice? I mean I know that JRPGs try to give the illusion of choice but to spit in your face about before the game evens starts is too much, simply too much. This wasn't the illusion, this was basically a big screw you saying "Ha ha! Sorry, we're far too Japanese to make the protagonist be anything but a melee fighter! Enjoy your keyblade and your useless magic, sucker!"

God, I am so mad, I am going to go work on my music projects. I don't need this stupidity.

I like being able to choose magic because seriously, more MP means more Cure, and more Cure means being able to survive the final boss.

What are you even talking about? What does getting magic after certain battles have to do with anything? If you don't need it until a certain point, you don't get it.
Do you like overeleveling your characters too much?

The stat differences you pick at the beginning are fairly minor (unless you choose to drop the staff, as -2 AP sucks), it mainly effects which abilities you learn through levelling. I actually like the staff ability order, as offensive magic is much more useful early game and you'll get most of the magic focused abilities early, and once enemies start building up ridiculous resistances to everything except Gravity (and some will even resist that, ugh), you start really building up your physical attacking abilities.

Mousa? Are you still here?

Because, if you are, then you should know this is the absolute most hilarious time to quit the game for this particular reason.

Because, you see, that cutscene you just paused so that you could write this rant? Immediately after that cutscene, you learn your first spell. Like, I'm not even kidding. You stopped immediately before you would've learned Fire.
