Nurse: Of course!. Hmm, no injuries since last time. Electricity reserves aren't full, but they are high. I'd say she's doing just fine.
Yellow: (She. Got it.) I just wanted to make sure she's in top shape.
Pikachu: I think he's being overcautious. We haven't met another opponent strong enough to worry about yet.

Yellow: All right, Pikachu. I think it's worth checking out Route 21 to the east. We'll need to go there eventually, so we might as well scope it out early.
{Route 21 is somewhat rocky, but there are brick paths to guide travelers. However, Yellow isn't the only traveller here...}

Yellow: Yeah, Purple. Wanted to check the place out.

Old Man: Ahh, I've had my coffee now and I feel great! Sure you can go through! I'm sorry I was so rude to you! I see you're using a pokedex. I'll show you how to catch Pokemon as my apology!

Yellow: There's another section to the city. What's this huge building... A Gym? The sign's too worn out to read...
"This Pokemon Gym is always closed. I wonder who the leader is?"
Yellow: If no one's here, I can't get a badge. There are supposed to be eight Gym Leaders... but does this make it seven or something? ...Let's just move on.

"Are you going into Viridian Forest? Be careful, it's a natural maze!"

"I came here with some friends! They're out for Pokemon fights!"
Yellow: Fine with us. We need to build up our strength. Right Pikachu?
Pikachu: Right! ... I ended up coming back here after all...
Lass: Hi, do you have a Pikachu?
Yellow: Yes. Now see her in battle!

{The first opponent is a female Nidoran. Pikachu uses Thunder Wave, then Thundershocks to defeat her.}

{This one starts with a Metapod. They can Harden themselves for defense, but lightning attacks cut right through. Next is a Caterpie, but it falls easily enough, giving Pikachu another level. The last enemy is a Metapod, which has no way to hurt Pikachu at all.}
Bug Catcher: Huh? I ran out of Pokemon!
Pikachu: So this is the code of a Trainer.

Pikachu: There aren't any stronger Caterpie in these woods.

Pikachu: That was strange. Metapod can't normally remember how to Tackle. Is this some Trainer power? ...Ah! A head on attack. With my speed, it will be even more powerful!

Yellow: Looks like it can't defend against everything, though.
Pikachu: Pi...Ka... Yellow... My charge is almost used up. We need to go back...
Yellow: Pikachu? ...You look pretty tired. We probably should head back to the Pokemon center to rest.
{On the way back, Pikachu ses her Quick Attacks to defeat a Caterpie that tries to block their way. After that, Yellow is able to keep the both of them out of tall grass on their way back.}
Yellow: (It looks like Pikachu's powers are pretty high compared to the other pokemon around here. Maybe she'll be able to stay afloat in spite of being alone.)
Pikachu: Yellow. I don't quite understand you, but... trusting you isn't a bad thing.
