Scene 24: Final Paradise

Before the stage begins I revisit Malano to go buy some "7 Leagues Boots".

Scene 24: Final Paradise

This stage is all over. We have cities and temples in all directions. The good enews is most enemy squads need to pass by Dantcaste and Selam. So these will have to be our primary destinations. Also, most of the enemy squads are high Alignment, so we will want low alignment units to do the bulk of the fighting. We'll have a lot of work to do.

Babaltx is freed first for XIII: Death.

The High Monk Randals is rumored to be the biggest coward in the Empire.

Proana is freed for VIII: Strength.

This area is covered in beautiful spots, and is known as the most last paradise in the Empire.

The southern hidden Temple is freed by Destin for XIX: Sun. We also find a plate of death

I heard that the witch that lives in Ramoto came from the Sky Islands! As a matter of fact, that man Boltorano in Alagoyas used to say the same thing. Where's Alagoyas? East, in the Zenobia district.

Don't really see the point of this rumor, Boltorano is in Paras in the Pogrom Forest. Harmella is freed for XX: Judgement.

Hve you heard about the high monk Randals? He takes advantage in the people's weakness and religion to make himself rich! It's said only those who believe are saved.

I free Selam for XIV: Temperance. I then use the boots I bought to move some units there, while Canopus flies off to free more towns.

If he is called the High Monk, then Randals should be a member of the Temples. But no one has ever seen him in meditation even once!

Dantcaste is freed next (I: Magician), and I send Warren there using the boots.

The High Monk Randals is said to have recieved powerful black magics from Rashidi. He claims to be a man of the temples, yet uses black magic.

Vore Ai is freed for another XIV: Temperance.

I heard that even though Randals is a man of the temples, he is studying necromancy. If that is true, it could damage the reputation of all the temples on the continent!

Gafelt is freed for VII: Lovers.

Have you heard of the witch Tarut who lives in Ramoto? She keeps saying she is from the sky and that the Ogre Battle is coming again. Please... you want to stay away from nut cases like that.

Pullwatt is freed for XI Justice

Randals declared a "tax for the blessing of the gods" but we all know he's using the money to stuff his own face!

Canopus meets three eaglemen with two ravenmen. But Canopus' dual dollmasters devastate them. One unit, Dillan's (Lich, Mage, Devil, Twin Ninja Masters) meets a monk with two gold dragons, killing them both.

The SW temple is freed for III: Empress

Randals is an embarrassment to the name of the temples! He declares a "tax for the blessing of the gods" a tax for "tributes to the gods". Every time he opens his mouth it's "money, money, money". He acts like a mechant!

Dillan meets a monk with two Red Dragons II. Warren meets a Beast Master and Two Titans. No Challenge there, The SE temple is freed for XIII: Death.

Randals is an embarrassment to the name of the temples! He declares a "tax for the blessing of the gods" a tax for "tributes to the gods". To think a man like this is high Monk, it makes me want to spit.

Cook, an evil one with two Tiamats, meets a group of 3 Paladins and 2 Valkyries. It's a tough fight, in no small part because they are s outnumbered, but he narrowly wins. Destin meets three mages and a phantom. Warren meets three cherub and two sylyphs. The white magic does a number on the Ninja Masters in Warren's unit, killing them both. We free Ramoto for I: Magician and are told Tarut won't come out till the empire leaves. Warren kills a Muse with two wyverns as well as a monk with two gold dragons, finding a blook kiss on the later, which I use on my Evil One (Yup, turns out these guys too can use these!) I resurrect Warren's Ninjas and keep pressing forward. On one enemy he finds a Musashi blade, Str +12, Fire Elemental.

Skauten is freed for VII: Lovers

Randals calls himself a high monk, but he's in fact just a merchant. He used the confusion brought by the war and he bought the position from the Empire. Like they say, the worse someone becomes, the best they try to look.

Selam is freed by Rauny for XIX: Sun

I heard that one of the 4 Devas, General Luvalon is in Salarn Castle. Luvalon must have been called there by the High Monk Randals.

Jaubala is freed, but I do not draw, too many cards.

I heard that Randals is terrified that the rebels have come here. It seems he's not had a single good night's sleep since the fall of Zenobia. Well, at least it helped him with his diet!

The treasures suck, a broken sword and a spike shield. Meh.

Finally, I send Rauny to meet Randals. Randals is a Dandy, like the boss in Malano, Baron Apros. Which means random black magic attacks. He is escorted by 4 Evil Ones. Ideally, I would want to use World to defend myself, but I do not have one. Still, he is quite vulnerable to white magic, and I do have a huge stack of Judgement cards. And, of course, with Rauny's squad having Paladin Ashe and Fogel, he doesn't really stand a chance. On a side note, shame actual monks like Norn or Aisha cannot confront Randals regarding his blasphemy.

With the map completed, we must go meet the witch Tarut.
I have been waiting for you for a loooooong time. Just as Fellana has predicted, you, Destin, are a True Hero. Therefore I must give you this Gem of Truth. Take all three gems to Fellana in her shrine.

Before we go to Shangrila, the residents of Harmhella want to give me a Blade of Sigmund, +19 Str, Lightning Elemental. Sweet!

Anyway, with this done we mosey on to Shangrila. There we can meet the Goddess Fellana.

My name is Fellana, the goddess of Justice. I know that you are walking the path of good. The Gods smile upon you. I know that you have the power to calm this troubled world. However if this peace does not last then all is lost. If you wish true peace, collect all 12 stones of the Zodiac. If you can do that, then lasting peace may be possible. Please take this. It's the Tablet of Yaru. This Tablet will prove that you are heirs to the Stones of the Zodiac. Good Luck.

With the tablet of Yaru in hand, we must go to an interlude, as we hunt down the zodiac stones!
