Episode 1 of 26, part 2 of 2

The second half of the episode opens with Nana opening her eyes, with a slow instrumental version of the opening theme playing in the background. We quickly discover that she's sleeping under a blanket on the porch outside, and she promptly stands up... followed by the other Nanas. So far none of them have figured it out, and they set off to make more chocolates.

Back inside, the Nanas are going to wash up... only to jump backwards into a circle, do a few actions in sync, and decide that "it's just a mirror image... wait not it's not what's happened?"

"You look like me and you look like me and you look like me and you look like me... There are so many, who are you?"

I think Hitomi's answer is the best: You're all Nana. The Nanas, naturally, are confused at this statement.

Scene change to outside, and the Nanas are all sitting on the porch in a straight line, with Hitomi and Grandpa opposite them. Hitomi's complaining that carrying 7 teenage girls a decent distance one by one is not easy. Grandpa explains some of what we already know, that the crystal in the microwave was what split Nana. He also explains what he was doing with the microwave: Trying to solidify light, due to a childhood dream. Yeah, Gramps, most people don't have such unlikely dreams...

Anyways, the project was almost complete, but Nana turning off the microwave screwed it up. Yeah, nice job ruining your grandfather's dream, Nana.

Anyways, we flash back to the present, only to find that the Nanas have already gone to the kitchen and are making the chocolate and the card that goes with it.

Grandpa manages to give a quick ID of all the copies: "There's an angry Nana, a happy one, a sad one, a slow one, a brainy one, and one who's a little bit strange." And that's not counting the original Nana, either. Hitomi notes that the copies are a bit too in sync...

By this point, the chocolate's done and wrapped up... and there's an issue. Namely, which Nana gets to give the chocolate to Yuichi? This results in the copies getting the ability to fly from out of nowhere, with Nana left in the dust. A few new holes in the roof and much depression in Nana are developed as a result. Grandpa theorizes that the crystals are the cause, and this allows Nana to begin a chase, as she too takes to the air (and turns those holes in the roof into one big hole)...

Up in the air, Nana finally figures out what it is that Yuichi is taking pictures of. Good for her, since I didn't get it myself! Oh, and she figures out that she needs to give the chocolate to Yuichi herself. Meanwhile, closer to ground level, the copies are arguing over who's the real Nana (spoiler: None of them.) and making sure you remember that Nana means Seven. Oh, and they're bursting through paper windows, destroying bridges, destroying supports to a building, and tilting another building over; nothing too major.

At this point, Nana comes and reverses the damages by herself (well, except for the paper windows). The copies stop for a minute, and that's all the time Nana needs to grab the chocolates. This prompts a chase that ends up with the Nanas all in a ball, rolling down some stairs. The land in a bush... and promptly hide from Yuichi, proving that despite being split up, they are all still easily embarrassed. Then the Trio walks by, stating they plan on give Yuichi chocolate themselves. Hello, incentive!

The Nanas quickly come up with a plan... and then look at the screen and say "uh-uh". Looks like we'll have to watch to figure out the plan!

Skip forward a few hours.

People are gathered around the sakura tree, wondering what happened to it. But we don't care about that stuff, do we? No, we care about how the copies steal the Trio's chocolates, and lead them throughout the crowd, before finally tricking them into giving the chocolates to some adult (he does says he's 40). This, by the way, is the start of the Trio's days as the show's Butt Monkeys.

Now the Nanas run up to Yuichi and give him their chocolate, and then run off. Mission successful, right?

"Excuse me! What's your name?" Yeah, he doesn't recognize Nana...

Later, back at the house, the copies find out that Nana forgot to put her name on the card...

Hitomi tells them to cheer up, but still unhappy; after all, next year they'll be in the middle of the high school entrance exams around Valentine's Day. And it's not like they have all that good a chance of getting into the same high school... Cue the light bulbs above the head!

They'll just have to get into the same high school as Yuichi! Hitomi likes this idea.

Nana's voiceover:

"And so, that's how I became seven different personalities, on the day the sakura tree mysteriously bloomed out of season, and the day I began the two hardest quests of my life. A quest for love, and a quest to get into the same high school as Yuichi. Wish me, I mean us, luck!"

Cue the end credits.

Next episode: The Nanas go to school; chaos (and School Guidance Councilor Dan Green) results.
