The expression 'Halcyon Days' is a reference to Greek mythology; Alcyone and Ceyx  * were so happily married that it pissed off the petty Gods, so they killed Ceyx  *. Alcyone's grief made her commit suicide,  * but the Gods then took pity them and reincarnated the pair as birds  *; or what are now called Kingfishers, more specifically. 'Halcyon Days' is the seven days during winter when storms never occurred  *; which just so happen to be the same days Kingfishers use to mate. The term more generally refers to a fleeting time of peace.  *
