20: Innocent Flower Girls

Still no new mail, but Anette tells Raguna that she got a flower from Eunice this morning. He asks around town about the flowers, and everyone else says that Eunice came to them with flowers as well. Raguna walks over to the business district to greet Eunice, and she gives him a moondrop flower, too. She says that she likes to watch the flowers grow during the spring, and hopes that sharing the flowers with everyone will make them smile. Aww...

Unfortunately, Raguna is RUNNING OUT OF TIME to plant new crops, so he harvests the strawberries and turnips that he has and cuts them down to make room for the summer crops. Puyo is getting a little better at clearing out the rocks, but there's still entirely too much garbage on the field, so he goes down to the Green Ruins with Orcy in tow to continue his search for someone who can efficiently chop wood. His journey leads him to B3, where he runs into a wolf mage. Instead of trying to defeat it straight up (because he can laugh off its fireballs), he uses his Pet Glove to cool it down, and then gives it the name Maggey. He also snags one of the fungus monsters (called a Big Muck; he names it Biggie...no, not him), wondering what sorts of things he can get from it.

With Raguna's monster roster expanding, he'll need to grow some more grass if he wants to keep them well-fed. He also wants to expand his house again, but according to Kross, he's not going to have enough money or wood to make another extension yet, even with today's profits. A lab expansion costs 15,000 gold and 180 wood, while a forge extension (the one Raguna is shooting for, because he needs a tool update) is worth 20,000 gold and 240 wood.

But wait! Eunice isn't the only one who's feeling in a giving mood. Sister Stella gives Raguna a Toy Herb flower, which brings significantly more than Moondrops do, because they're so common.

The next day marks the last day of spring, and with no new crops to farm, Raguna decides to take a walk to Whale Island yet again, this time with Maggey in tow. While Maggey's fireball shower looks impressive, Raguna winds up doing most of the legwork. He still can't get the girl with the weird eyes to talk to him, so he goes back home.

Everyone around town is excited about the Beach opening up for the holiday. Raguna doesn't know whether or not he'd fit in, because he doesn't remember bringing a bathing suit. Maybe someone will provide one for him...

Kanno has a new assignment for Raguna: "I WANT...an EMERALD". So Raguna goes home and gets one from his not-so-secret stash. Kanno is mildly pleased, but now he wants Raguna to bring him a Thick Stick (uh...) Raguna doesn't have one of those, so he says goodbye and awaits the appearance of the Crown constellation (which he misses...again).
