John is amazed at Jane's smile, and curses himself for not going after her
. He considers putting his number on her windshield, but decides against it, because he believes that she gets hit on every day. Unusually upset over the prospect of never again seeing someone he's just met, he ponders skipping work, having already decided that they're perfect together.
If you tried the other options, you'll see that, with the exception of the one that gives you the bad ending, they hardly make any difference. Worse still, you just passed the only point in the game in which the wrong choice doesn't immediately end the game.
The interview happens. If you saw Installment 5 (or 7), you'll know what happens: the job is cancelled and Jane isn't hired. So now, we're up to the same choices as in there.
