Prologue: Welcomes and information

Hello, all who are currently reading this! This is the opening page of what will be the storage place for all my liveblogs of the Fire Emblem series of games. In here, I will be updating chapter by chapter as I play through the games and hopefully make those updates as fun to read as possible!

The next page will be a Table of Contents, since this will eventually get fairly large, and it will make categorizing which games are being covered in which liveblog installments much easier.

Continue forth onto the next page, and hopefully enjoy your time reading!

One thing I know is that this game's version of the Arena is inside the castles. Since you didn't mention it I'll assume it's unavailable in the prologue, but you might want to check again later.

I should try to start this sometime soon so I can follow along.

That was probably one of the greyed out icons then. Cool, I'll try that out in later chapters, namely for Ardan, since he isn't gonna be killing much, although I could lug him over to the second castle and have him take on the boss, since he seems pretty good, just really slow moving.

I think you can only have 7 arena fights per unit per chapter

Ah darn it. Well, Ardan (and some others) can level up with that, and then hopefully do stuff.

Also, anyone have any idea what Duel does? Is it possibly a name change? I know Pursuit is just doubling, and Adept is obvious (Serenes says that it used to be Continue), but I have no idea what Duel does. Noish didn't seem to use it, opting to critical people for surprisingly high damage, given that it apparently doubles damage.

I have a feeling Duel is Wrath on Serenes. Always critical when HP is below (Max/2)+1. Pursuit happens as long as your Attack Speed is greater than theirs, Continue treats weapon as a Brave weapon. Nihil (Awareness on Serenes) nulls all criticals, all enemy skills, and all effective bonuses.

Critical bonuses are x2 and effective bonuses are treated as criticals, unlike later games where's it's triple damage and triple might respectively.

Duel is speed related, and has basically the same description as Pursuit. Thanks for the elaboration on criticals though. I was wondering why Noish was doing so much damage with them.
