* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Was TK trying to win at all costs again Hunt, or he was putting a show knowing that he would retire shortly after? Considering that he chose to trade strikes with the mighty kickboxer and rarely looked to grapple as it was his specialty, he perhaps wanted his last match to be a memorable effort.
* BrokenBase: Exactly, ''what'' in the heaven is the TK guard? Some people believe that it is some type of butterfly guard, while other people think of it as a modified half guard, or even a spider guard; others believe it is an entire system of positions to avoid ground and pound, and finally, others believe that the TK guard and the much better known TK scissors are one and the same.
* HilariousInHindsight: "{{Hipster}} Kohsaka".[[note]]A very, very old meme had a caption of Kohsaka wearing hipster glasses and hat and stating "I beat Fedor before it was cool".[[/note]]
* MemeticLoser: For western fans, Kohsaka is known solely as the guy who "defeated" Fedor by a weird accident in some promotion and then went to take a beating from him in PRIDE, so they tend to assume he was just another Japanese tomato can. That Kohsaka went to the judges against Frank Shamrock, the Nogueira brothers, Randy Couture and Babalu, all in their primes and sometimes with Kohsaka carrying an injured knee, is usually ignored (or fully not known).
* NeverLiveItDown:
** Both his accidental victory against Fedor and his late beatdown to Fedor's hands. Kohsaka could be better remembered in MMA story as the second ace of RINGS, or the man who pioneered cross-training along with Frank Shamrock and Maurice Smith, but nah, he will be ever remembered by an accidental elbow and a bloody beating.
