* DieForOurShip: In the case where Nadia isn't a complete jerk to Titeuf, some people didn't react too well with the introduction of Ramatou, since Titeuf begins to forget his crush on Nadia because of this new character.
* {{Squick}}: With all the ToiletHumor and other disgusting humor, readers may gets squicked multiple times by each comics.
* TearJerker: [[http://zepworld.blog.lemonde.fr/2015/09/08/mi-petit-mi-grand/ This story, drawn by Zep, puts Titeuf in a situation of a refugee]] (in response to the refugee and migrants' crisis in Europe). Because he finds himself in a situation of [[WarIsHell war]], it also doubles as NightmareFuel.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Some people felt like this about the latest books, since some think that it doesn't have the same "spirit" as the first ones, and especially for giving to Titeuf [[DieForOurShip a new love interest : Ramatou.]]
* UncertainAudience: The early albums, especially. See below for details.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: The later albums, arguably: American audiences might be surprised that such a series that near-constantly touches controversial subjects is mainly meant for pre-teens or even children. Even the slightly Bowdlerised animated version, or other media, may not be totally immune to this.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: The black-and-white first entry, even by European standards, was obviously never meant to be for children, and was more about adult themes from a child's point of view. Because of MisaimedFandom and the AnimationAgeGhetto, the author decided to make the series LighterAndSofter and more kid-friendly as time passed.
