* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: 3d or 2d discussion aside, there is no denying that the games pixel art is [[http://www.tibia.com/abouttibia/?subtopic=screenshots gorgeous]], especially in the never released areas.
* BrokenBase: Many patches enraged players, since they usually disturb the status quo of the class balance.
** In the rare occasions that the game is brought in Discussions about MMO's and video-games in general. One of the first thing people will bring up is the games lack of sound of any kind, usually resulting in people either defending the fact (it would just be distracting) or shruging and claim its just something you'l have to live with.
* EpilepticTrees: Popular within the fanbase. Especially early on the game had loose plot threads everywhere, such as the Ferumbras quest, hints found in some books ingame, the actual quest only added a few years ago.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Most of the players are from Brazil. And the game is even more popular in second place Poland, and while it owes most of its popularity to word of mouth, other factors include the fact that it's free, will run on any PC and has very low bandwidth requirements. For reference, Germany, who developed the game, constituted about 1% of the playerbase (as opposed to 26,56% from Brazil, 24,38% from much smaller Poland and 8,65% from Sweden).
* GoddamnedBats: Extremely common. [[BigCreepyCrawlies Giant spiders]] are often accompanied by tarantulas, [[SmashMook Behemoths]] have cyclopes and dwarves, etc. In fact, as your [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe shielding]] stat only applies when one or two creatures are attacking you at once, pretty much ANY creature can become this.
* HilariousInHindsight: During the first years of the game, the developers told a player that it would probably be impossible to reach level 100 because of the huge amount of EXP required. At the moment, a few players have passed level ''1000'', and passing level 300 is, while still rare, already somewhat mundane. Also, the first player who reached 1,000,000,000 experience points (around level 395) caused a glitch on the official website.
