* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Composed by Tilo Alpermann, the soundtrack ranges from magical like the game's main theme, to boisterous with the Marquis de Hoto's {{LeitMotif}}; ethereal and/or otherwordly in the two tracks for the Clearing of the First Tree, and foreboding with [[spoiler:Zaroff's]] theme.
* DisappointingLastLevel: The [[spoiler: WizardDuel BossBattle]] lacked any puzzles and didn't establish much tension. The same goes for the stage before, where the player would have maybe expected that [[spoiler:Zaroff]] would pose a greater threat.
* FridgeBrilliance: Three out of four of the Lizard Consortium members seem to represent different vices/addictions, as seen when they start tempting the residents of Mousewood into [[DealWithTheDevil making deals with them]]. This makes sense considering that their modus operandi is convincing people that they (the lizards) "will be the solution" to their worries and struggles, just like how, sadly, people often turn to these things to cope with their own worries.
** The Huckster Lizard represents drug addiction. He sells a variety of potions to Mr. Hare, all of which only leave Mr. Hare unsatisfied and wanting more.
** The Banking Lizard might represent alcohol addiction, since he is an alcoholic himself. Alternatively, spending addiction might suit his job more.
** The Fortune Telling Lizard represents gambling addiction. His fortune-telling wheel is clearly rigged to give himself good results and everyone else bad ones. Yet Ludwig is so fixated on the idea that he ''might'' win that he gives away everything he owns to keep playing.
** The Building Contractor Lizard is the only one whose symbolic vice is less clear, as we get much less information about him than the others.
* QuestionableCasting: Averted with Jerry in the English dub, where he sounds just like an innocent young boy courtesy of [[https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5711943/?ref_=tt_cl_t1 Jed Kelly]], but played straight in the German version, where [[https://youtu.be/bMmfxBv5dD0?t=645 he sounds much older]].
* ScrappyMechanic: Some fans have complained about the uselessness of the hint feature. In theory, Marquis de Hoto is supposed to give you hints for each puzzle, but in practice, all he really does is remind you what your overall big goal in each portion of the game is.
