* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Who was it that asked Savitar if killing Iris will really be worth it: Killer Frost, or [[FightingFromTheInside Caitlin]]?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Music/{{AURORA|Singer}}'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTwdGRHl5Mw&feature=youtu.be "Murder Song"]] eerily fits the scene of Iris' death.
* FridgeHorror: Lyla uses one of the containment cells to hold an invaluable power source; ''King Shark's'' cell, to be precise. Look closely, there's traces of blood around his jaw.
* HarsherInHindsight: Abra Kadabra had previously claimed that Barry learning Savitar's true identity would allow him to beat Savitar and save Iris. Ultimately, Barry figured it out on his own successfully...yet in the end, it still didn't matter and Savitar won anyway.
* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: While Creator/GrantGustin's credibility was already proven numerous times in the past, his ActingForTwo this episode got him even more praise, particularly him showing the desperation of TheHero and the complexity of the BigBad.
* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt:
** Iris' death might be believable...if it actually aired during May 23rd, which isn't until ''next'' week. However, given that Henry Allen also died before the finale it might be a subversion...
** Likewise with Barry actually leaving Snart to be eaten by King Shark, given that Barry recruits him before his actual death in the Season 1 finale of ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* MemeticMutation:
** Barry's SkywardScream being captioned with '''[[VideoGame/MegaManX4 WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOORRRR!?!?]]'''.
** Many fans joke that the reason Julian is absent in this episode is because he's still sobbing after Caitlin told him last episode that she never loved him.
* MoralEventHorizon: We already knew Savitar ''would'' cross it by killing Iris, but here that finally happens--especially since we now know it's essentially a version of ''Barry'' who did that.
* ShockingMoments: Savitar actually kills Iris ''before'' the finale.
* SpiritualAdaptation: At least regarding one scene. Specifically, the one where Barry is cradling Iris' corpse is compared by some fans to an eerily similar scene from ''VideoGame/MegaManX4'' where the [[RedIsHeroic red-clad hero]] holds his deceased LoveInterest ''also'' named Iris. It does not help that both deaths involve {{Powered Armor}}s, powerful stones, and a {{BFG}}.
* TearJerker: The scene where Savitar kills Iris. Barry just cradling her in his arms just makes it more heart-wrenching.
