* DesignatedHero: Han begins the book by mind controlling Leia and kidnapping her, the spends the rest of the book wondering when she'll fall in love with him. At the end of the book they get married.
* EnsembleDarkHorse: Go [[EnsembleDarkHorse/StarWarsLegends here]].
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Luke's reaction to C-3PO's announcement that Han is the hereditary King of Corellia: ''"I should have known."'' Despite his rough, cynical edges, Han has always displayed the qualities that Luke associates with royalty: bravery, loyalty to friends and family, and a willingness to lead.
** After Zsinj and the Nightsisters are defeated, Mother Rell and the Warsinger tribe insist on giving Han chests of gemstones, both as thanks and as fair payment for their planet, which he claimed to legally own. Han protests that he doesn't want them, because 1) he considered his claim void as soon as he discovered there were people living on Dathomir; and 2) he only did what he did to save everybody, including Leia and himself, and it would be dishonest for him to accept any reward for it. Leia convinces him to accept, pointing out that the tribeswomen have no other use for the gems, and she intends to marry Han in royal style (i.e., very expensively).
** Luke's parting words to Teneniel and Isolder:
--->''(to Teneniel)'' You will give birth to a daughter first, and she will be strong and virtuous, like you... ''(to Isolder)'' Remember to serve the light side of the Force. Though you will never wield a lightsaber or heal the sick, you have some light within you. Be true to that light.
* HilariousInHindsight: Go [[HilariousInHindsight/StarWarsLegends here]].
* FanNickname: Isolder IS Space Fabio!
* NarmCharm: The book has a lot of goofy ideas (Han winning a planet for one), but manages to be a fun read nonetheless.
* {{Squick}}: If you read this book through [=McEwok-colored=] glasses, [[KissingCousins you will start to think about Jacen and Tenel Ka]], though they're thankfully not related (it was a close shave, though). Also, the idea of Yoda being a big flirt in his youth.
