* AccidentalInnuendo: John saying he would "only take it from Tom" in episode 115. He was actually referring to an apology for the difficulty in accessing the Bugle email account.
* BrokenBase: When it comes to the Audio Cryptic Crossword, people either joined Andy in championing it or, like John, see it as akin to the Third Reich. Also, when Death Threats to the Bugle was a regular feature, a vow was made by certain listeners to hunt down any Buglers who manage to put their death threats into action.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Tom the Producer was initially unheard from and unspoken of by John and Andy - by the time of his departure in Bugle 107, he was a much-loved (and much-wearied) member of the squad, who phoned in from Australia just to say goodbye.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: The Greatest Email Ever Sent, "Volcano Porn", the terrorist arse-bomber, and Andy's story about delivering his own son.
** Also the entirety of Episode 69, otherwise known as the Penis On The Roof episode, featuring the infamous Eton Roof Game
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: John's speech about his Iraq war veteran wife in Episode 176:
--> "I was and still am hugely against the decision to go to war in Iraq. And equally could not be more proud of what she and those she served with were able to do in conditions that I'm extremely glad I can only imagine."
* HoYay: The American talking about ''Film/ThreeHundred''. John and Andy at times. Both are married but they've known each other a long time and finish each other's sandwiches....
* NeverLiveItDown: John's role in the disastrous ''Film/TheLoveGuru'' is NEVER left unreminded by Andy, Tom the Producer, and even the listeners.
** John's role in Film/TheSmurfs is starting to take this role.
* TearJerker: John's speech mentioned above can fall into this when he talks about exactly how bad the conditions in Iraq were.
---> John:"The war lives on with us, in our home and will until the day she dies. Some of the blood spilled in Iraq was hers, alongside those that she tried to save - in the midst of streets of violent chaos - some successfully, some not."
