* BaseBreakingCharacter: Sonya, with the fans being split between those who consider her as a total JerkAss who doesn't like being with Yasuna and the fans who think of her as someone who is just bad at being overall nice.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Agiri's anime incarnation has gained a significant fanbase due to her voice alone.
* FanNickname: Depending on who you ask, the Unused Character is named Botsu Kyarawhich is pronounced the same way as "unused character"(没キャラ) in Japanese. She was also nicknamed Mishi during the time the anime was airing.
* Fanon:
** Sonya being Russian is one of the most common headcanons, if not the biggest of them all. The creator has never confirmed it, yet most fans consider it as true.
** Agiri as TheStoner. It has only become stronger following Ai Takabe's arrest.
* FountainOfMemes: Has become this in Japan, with the ending dance and the first manga volume's cover being parodied with characters from countless fandoms.
* FridgeHorror: Of course Sonya would have a fear of ghosts; she's afraid of the spirits of the people she's killed coming back to haunt her. Makes one wonder if despite the manga's joking nature, deep down she's more messed-up than she lets on...
* HarsherInHindsight: Fans occasionally joked that Agiri was TheStoner. Then in 2015, her voice actress, Ai Takabe, was arrested for cocaine possession. After the incident, cocaine jokes have become much more frequent, but Takabe has since retired from voice acting (and the entertainment biz altogether) because of it.
* LesYay: The interaction between Yasuna and Sonya sometimes reads less like they're just friends, and more like the former is trying to win the affections of the latter.
** In Episode 5, Yasuna asks Sonya to run across the beach with her like a couple.
** The ED, which is a duet between the two's voice actresses, contains lyrics that sound like a love confession.
---> I love you, so much so that
---> I want to kill you
* MemeticMutation:
** The ED's dance segment has become this to the point of AscendedMeme levels. RealLife attempts have been made, merch has been sold and people still parody it to this day.
** The first manga volume's cover counts too. Both Sonya and Yasuna are edited into other characters who are friends, enemies, siblings, etc.
** Sonya and Agiri are figments of Yasuna's imagination. A meme that originated in 2ch when the anime was airing, complete with an ASCII code version of Charlie Brown.
** Nice desu ne! Originally said by Yasuna in Episode 1 of the anime, this line has since then become somewhat of a meme.
** Tonka trucks.
** GUUURL, NINJAS GOTTA POO POO TOO! stands out in particular due to it originating in the anime dub.
** The comment sections for the newer manga chapters as of 2019 are full with remarks about character deaths and saying it's the final chapter.
** A panel at the end of Chapter 58 depicting Yasuna half-buried under a tree accompanied by the sound effect "Ba-Baan!" in Japanese has become a popular parody on Pixiv.
* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: Agiri's voice. Her voice in the English dub (courtesy of Creator/RozieCurtis) is also very pleasant to hear too.
* ShipsThatPassInTheNight: Fans often ship Agiri with the Unused Character, despite the fact that the two have never had any real interaction in the show. Hell, the jury's still out on whether or not the latter even knows Agiri exists!
* SoBadItsGood:
** The anime's opening is an atonal mess, but for many viewers the chaotic, high-energy nature of the song perfectly captures the absurd nature of the anime.
** The anime itself has NoBudget and the art style is simple, even crude at times, but this perfectly accentuates the bizarre humour this show is known for.
