1* HilariousInHindsight: Scotland is portrayed as being small and reliant on Britain as a whole, but with a strong and rapidly-growing IT industry linked to an EU that's unified enough to operate Royal Danish Air Force infowar planes over Edinburgh to support a special operation, whereas the US's aging infrastructure due to its earlier tech upgrades drags it economically behind. One real-life economic crash later, and independent Scotland/functional EU is looking less likely by the minute. Although the situation will rapidly become more viable and likely again with the economic recovery, and further increased in likelihood with the Brexit fiasco.
