Big things are happening on TV Tropes! New admins, new designs, fewer ads, mobile versions, beta testing opportunities, thematic discovery engine, fun trope tools and toys, and much more - Learn how to help here and discuss here.
These are what we call the 'YMMV items.' Things that some people find in this work. We call them 'your mileage might vary' because not everyone sees these things in the same way. This starts discussions in the trope lists, a thing we don't want. Please use the discussion page if you'd like to discuss any of these items.
YMMV: Halting State
Hilarious in Hindsight: Scotland is portrayed as being small and reliant on Britain as a whole, but with a strong and rapidly-growing IT industry linked to an EU that's unified enough to operate Royal Danish Air Force infowar planes over London to support a special operation, whereas the US's aging infrastructure due to its earlier tech upgrades drags it economically behind. One real-life economic crash later, and independent Scotland/functional EU is looking less likely by the minute.
Paranoia Fuel: The bad guys can tack you and listen in on your conversations whenever you have your phone turned on. And they have compromised CopSpace.
