* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Does Advocat save Lillet (by asking Grimlet to kill her last, knowing she'll go back in time) because he simply wants to retain the chance to get Gammel's soul, or does he actually feel some duty as a teacher? Does he actually expect to get Gammel's soul at all, or does he just enjoy working with him? Or is it a trick to get the chance to get the ''student's'' souls? (We never see him successfully get Gammel's soul on any iteration, but he does manage to get students into contracts with him twice.)
** Bartido is very close to both Chartreuse and Lillit, going to great lengths to protect them in each loop. This is complicated by the fact that [[spoiler: both Chartreuse and Lillit are connected to the Philosopher's Stone and Bartido is a spy sent steal said object. While he does commit a HeroicSacrifice at the end of the 1st and 3rd loop for Lillit's sake, it's hard to say if this is a case of BecomingTheMask or if he never truly wanted the Stone to begin with as his motives for becoming a spy are never explored.]]
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: This a game by Creator/{{Vanillaware}} after all. Even though the there isn't a lot of variety the backgrounds, the designs for the characters and Familiars are very well done.
* LesYay: Lillet towards Amoretta, with one of her main goals being to keep her from sacrificing herself. While some of this stems from Lillet's desire to save everyone, her relationship with Amoretta goes even further. Lillet at one point says that the thing Amoretta lacks is love, and that she will give as much as she wants, and [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything a scene showing they slept together]]. [[spoiler: Plus Amoretta in the 4th loop sacrifices herself to save Lillet, and notes how she enjoyed the time she had with her.]]
* LowTierLetdown: Skull Mages are slow, relatively expensive, [[SquishyWizard have low HP]], and are the only Necromancy unit that isn't [[{{Intangibility}} Astral]] so you'd think that they would have an [[GlassCannon amazing offense]] or some sort of [[WeakButSkilled tactically powerful ability]] to [[PowerAtAPrice compensate for all of that.]] Except they have a so-so ranged attack that can [[CripplingOverspecialization only hurt Astral units]] and a spell to temporarily transform enemy units into Astral units, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero therefore making it harder for your other units to do damage.]] To make matters worse, you're introduced to them in a mission where you can only use Necromancy and [[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman you have to fight a lot of slow, fragile, Astral units]] as if the game was trying to trick you in to thinking that Skull Mages weren't a massive waste of mana.
* MagnificentBastard: [[DevilInPlainSight Advocat, Professor of Demon Sorcery]] is a [[EvilSorcerer devil]] who's wit matches his charm. Actually Mephistopheles, servant of Grimmlet, Advocat signed a deal with Gammel Dore after he sealed his boss becoming a professor, believing it easier to take souls over serving Grimmlet, tempting students with contracts. Against Grimmlet and Calvaros as threats to his selfish wishes, [[StealthMentor Advocat advised Lillet in the loop]], stealing the Lemegaton in a soul pact and protecting her. Having grown fond, Advocat taught Lillet how to cheat a devil, giving her means to defeat Grimmlet, laughing at his demise, as his ambitions continue, [[JerkassWithAHeartOfGold secretly hiding his love for the school staff]].

* OneTruePairing: Lillet X Amoretta, unsurprisingly given the LesYay between them.
