* AntiClimaxBoss: [[BigBad Roarke]] at the end of the film. [[spoiler: Justified by his PowerDegeneration.]]
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: "[[http://youtu.be/-6C7wpQ6Mdg Velvet Itch]]" by Bass Drum of Death. The Rider's own [[https://youtu.be/WO_mfxOwyPc?t=99 guitar-riff leitmotif]] in the film's score is also incredibly striking.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Several things the Rider does are just... random. It seems to have been done to emphasize how not-human he is, but the sequence where he spends about half a minute revolving in midair after being hit with a flashbang definitely stands out as a "wut" moment.
* CompleteMonster: [[PsychoForHire Ray Carrigan]] is a sadistic mercenary involved in all kinds of crimes, including drug and [[ArmsDealer arms trafficking]], as well as [[WouldHurtAChild kidnapping children]]. Hired by Mephisto to capture the young Danny, Carrigan and his henchmen attack the monastery where he's hiding and mercilessly massacre all the monks before catching the kid and his mother Nadya. Despite their history, Carrigan prepares to execute Nadya while smiling maniacally, but he's stopped by Ghost Rider who eventually kills him. However, Mephisto later resurrects Carrigan as a demonic being with the [[WalkingWasteland power of decay]], so that he can continue his mission. After testing his new powers by horribly killing a random civilian, Carrigan goes to the Sanctuary, where he [[CruelAndUnusualDeath brutally slaughters]] every monk while cracking jokes and treating the whole thing like a fun game. Then, he kidnaps Danny and brings him to Mephisto, knowing full well that the demon is planning to sacrifice him to steal his body and become powerful enough to rule over the world. When Johnny Blaze, Nadya, and Moreau come to save the kid, Carrigan gruesomely kills Moreau, tortures Johnny [[ForTheEvulz for his amusement]], and tries again to murder Nadya. Even though he started as a normal human being, [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters Carrigan rivals high-level demons in sheer sadism and cruelty]].
* ContestedSequel: Either the movie was an improvement over the previous movie or the worst of the two films.
%%* EnsembleDarkhorse:
%%** Moreau.
%%** If you're not a fan of the NarmCharm, it goes extra for Nadya as well. Her entire story is perhaps the only good thing about the film.
* FridgeBrilliance:
** Why is the Rider so ''[[AxCrazy incredibly psychotic]]'' in the film? Johnny's been keeping him locked away. He hasn't had any fun in a long time, and suddenly he's been given carte blanche to do whatever it takes to find [[AntiChrist Danny]]. Let the slaughter begin!
*** Could also explain why Johnny himself acts so absolutely friggin' ''nuts'' through the whole movie, and actually seems to calm down during the period when he's de-powered. It's repeatedly said that the fallen angel that inhabits him is literally insane.
** The Rider's line in the first trailer released on-line also shows that in addition to being completely out there in terms of his brutality, he also has a disturbed sense of humor when he kills someone.
--->'''Ghost Rider:''' Roadkill.
* HamAndCheese: Creator/NicolasCage is ''clearly'' having fun this time around.
%%* NarmCharm: TheMovie.
* SignatureScene: The Ghost Rider converting the gigantic mining machine (also known as a Bagger 288) into a hellfire-spewing monstrosity is considered the most memorable scene in the movie.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Every scene with The Rider is generally praised, from his redesign from a heavy metal album cover to a charred skeleton wearing a constantly boiling leather jacket to any time he takes control of a vehicle and sets it on hellfire to wreak havoc.
