* AlternativeJokeInterpretation: Pilot X's reaction to Paulie telling him [[YouCanKeepHer he can keep his mother as he holds her hostage]]. Was Pilot X disappointed that it wasn't enough for Paulie to accept his challenge to a battle in outer space, or was he [[EvenEvilHasStandards caught off-guard by Paulie's apathy towards his mother's situation]]. While he forces Paulie to fight him anyway, his [[BigWhat initial reaction]] still leaves room for interpretation.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The [[https://youtu.be/UC_cRPEtxaM Torpedo Run theme]] is a surprisingly catchy theme for the naval battle challenge.
** [[https://youtu.be/_OoRKLc7HMU Pilot X's theme]] that plays in the second half of his [[FinalBoss boss fight]]. It doubles as both a BraggingThemeTune and TheVillainSucksSong for Pilot X, from the singer boasting Pilot X's accomplishments while Pilot X himself shows signs of a VillainousBreakdown with excuses.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: While some cutscenes come across as random, a very notable instance is in Paulie's adventure mode. In it, Paulie has a dream of performing opera only to get crushed by a pig, sending him into a CatapultNightmare. This has nothing to do with his storyline and isn't brought up again.
* BrokenBase: The use of stereotypes. Some argue that since the game [[EqualOpportunityOffender goes after all of the nationalities featured, including the Americans]], it's part of the humor. Others argue that even with that, the fact that some characters like Sammy Wasabi and Sheik Abdul look like caricatures and end up borderline racist, especially with the case of the Banditos.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: It's probably safe to say that among the Freaky Flyers, [[BigBad Pilot X]] is the one who steals the show.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Despite Andre's attempts at connecting with Johnny, his long lost twin brother, always resulting in him being dismissed, the moment Andre gets the movie career and contract Johnny barely missed out on by chasing after Traci Torpedoes, he immediately says that if Johnny's not on board and they're not a duo, he'll not sign anything, forcing the director and agents to sign them both on.
* JerkassWoobie: Traci Torpedoes is an abrasive jingoist, but the revelation that she was created solely to serve the German airforce is sad in its way. Not to mention the constant harassment from sexist creeps and the other revelation that her sisters have been relegated to jobs in the sex industry.
* SignatureScene: Pilot X’s cutscene in Johnny Turbine’s adventure mode where he poses as Traci and reveals himself, mainly due to functioning as Pilot X’s EstablishingCharacterMoment (as, while you can select anyone, Johnny is the default character) and Johnny’s [[SkewedPriorities nonchalant reaction to the ordeal.]]
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: "Freaky Flyers Reprise" sounds an awful lot like the ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' theme song.
* ThatOneAchievement: Getting all missions done in a level in one run whilst still getting first place. On some stages this isn't too bad, but on others it requires nearly inhuman timing and meticulous planning. Whats worse is that if you want to complete the game with 100% completion, you HAVE to do this with every stage!
