* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The title screen on the SNES version, or the character select screen in either version.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoxpMsi25W0 Ray's theme from the first game.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9FKhRfONZk The game over music from the original.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tyWLhIQ-_0 Marstorius' theme in the SNES version,]] which is actually superior to the arcade because it has an orchestral sound to it.
** Many of the themes in ''Dynamite'' count, OST ''and'' arranged.
* CharacterTiers: Like all {{fighting game}}s, they exist, although this series is one of the harder ones in which players can come to a general consensus on who goes where. [[https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Fighter%27s_History_Dynamite/FAQ See here]] for analysis on the tiers in ''Dynamite''.
* CultClassic: ''Fighter's History'', much like ''VideoGame/{{Breakers}}'', maintains a dedicated cult following to this day, a fate not shared by many of the ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' [[FollowTheLeader copycats]]. Being one of the better ones by a large margin as well as a decent series in its own right most likely helped.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Mizoguchi became a fan favorite due to his crazy and goofy personality, to the point that he quickly supplanted [[TheHero Ray]] as the face of the series. [[BreakoutCharacter This]] would lead to him not only becoming the lead character of the third game, ''Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!'', and [[{{Crossover}} crossing over]] into another Creator/DataEast fighting game, ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki'' for the UsefulNotes/SegaSaturn, but also making an [[UnexpectedCharacter unexpected appearance]] in Creator/{{SNK}}'s ''[[Franchise/TheKingOfFighters KOF]]: [[VideoGame/KOFMaximumImpactRegulationA Maximum Impact Regulation A]]''.
** Yungmie has her own share of fans as well due to the fact that she's quite TheCutie while [[AmazonianBeauty having some lovely legs]]. She also appeared in ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki'' alongside Mizoguchi, being the only other ''Fighter's History'' character to cross over to another game.
* FanNickname:
** Due to the phonetic pronunciation of her name (and possibly her appearance), Yungmie is sometimes referred to as Yummy.
** In English-speaking circles, Failing is occasionally used in regards to Feilin, who is widely seen as a lower-tier character.
** In Mexico, Marstorius is sometimes nicknamed "Masturborius" due of the phonetics of his name.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Jean's [[BigNo "NON!"]] in his ending, [[spoiler:when he meets Ryoko at the Olympics]].
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Samchay is either this or an affectionate running joke among the Japanese fanbase. Let it be said that during The Great Grapple 2004 (a ''Fighter's History Dynamite'' tournament [[ShapedLikeItself held in 2004]]), there was an all-Samchay tourney as a side event. ''48 players ended up entering it.''
* GoodBadBugs: The "Karnov/Super 100 Warp" glitch, which involves using his Super 100 Kick special combined with his down-forward HK slide. The trick causes Karnov to slide across from one end of the screen to other and has been accepted as a regular part of his gameplay due to its usefulness in terms of cross-ups.
* HarsherInHindsight: Several years later, Data East was involved in another plagiarism lawsuit, only this time they sued Face, the creators of ''Money Puzzle Exchanger'', which they argued ripped off Data East's own ''VideoGame/MagicalDrop''. The lawsuit resulted in the bankruptcy of Face.
* OvershadowedByControversy: The accusations of plagiarism the first game faced, to the point where Creator/{{Capcom}} filed a lawsuit against the developers, is perhaps the only reason why the series is even known at all.
* SerialNumbersFiledOff: The main reason people even remember the first game.
