%%* AwesomeEgo
* DracoInLeatherPants: Was a heel throughout most of his career, but was still popular due to his incredible skill.
* LoveToHate: Aside from Hennig's wrestling skills, one of the factors in his becoming a hit was his impressive skill at drawing heel heat.
* MisaimedFandom: During his run with the West Texas Rednecks, their feud with the No Limit Soldiers actually saw many WCW fans (especially in the South) side with them, since they came off as the underdogs and the Soldiers as bullies and {{Designated Hero}}es. Their goofy novelty song "Rap is Crap (I Hate Rap)" even got some radio airplay because of it.
* NarmCharm: The Mr. Perfect gimmick was a dorky gimmick when you get right down to it, but Curt Hennig was one of the few men in the business, if not the ''only'' man, that could've pulled it off.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Wrestling/CMPunk's stint as a commentator is very much like Hennig's when he was put on the ''[[Wrestling/WWERaw Raw]]'' broadcast team with Wrestling/VinceMcMahon while rehabbing an injury.
* RootingForTheEmpire: It can be really difficult to hate Mr. Perfect. Even when up against a beloved babyface wrestler.
* SoBadItsGood:
** WWF aired vignettes to promote the debut of Mr. Perfect, which showed him excelling at a variety of sports to a ridiculous extent and looking smug while doing it. The vignettes did work, however, as Perfect became one of the most hated heels in the company.
** His run with the West Texas Rednecks, specifically their song, "Rap is Crap."
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong:
** His classic [[Wrestling/{{WWE}} WWF]] theme was a knock-off of "Theme from Exodus". In fact, he used "Theme from Exodus" itself for a period after his debut before it was changed.
** His TNA theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir6-W89IsAI "Champion"]] was a combination of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions."
