!!The film:
* HesJustHiding: [[spoiler:Collin]] might have only been taken back to the croc's lair for later and left alive like [[spoiler:Kate]]. [[FreezeFrameBonus The newspaper article at the end mentions the croc killed two local men.]] One is obviously [[spoiler:Neil,]] but the other could have been whoever shot the flare and died in the boat instead of [[spoiler:Collin]].
* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: Kate's loyal, adorable dog Kevin inspires this in the climax after there was already a big debate about whether to use him as bait and the group found another option. [[spoiler: Only it turns out that yes, Kevin is a goner this time.]]
* NarmCharm: The film is full of NightmareFuel, so it's pretty jarring when the old [[Series/TheMickeyMouseClub Mickey Mouse Club]] [[http://youtu.be/7HkBW_FgobM "Never Smile at a Crocodile" by The Paulette Sisters]] starts playing with the end credits.
* RetroactiveRecognition: The young British girl is a pre-fame Creator/MiaWasikowska.
* SpiritualSuccessor: To the 1987 film ''Film/DarkAge'', an earlier Australian production about a killer crocodile starring Creator/JohnJarratt.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The animatronics and digital animation used to bring the crocodile to life are pretty kick-ass at times.

!!The {{Roguelike}} video game:
* GeniusBonus: Each game, all potions, rings, wands, and staves start out unidentified and being a random color/material. For example, a potion might be white, or yellow, or blue; a ring might be topaz or moonstone; a wand might be copper or titanium; a staff might be oak or avocado wood. In all four cases, ''one'' of the possible choices is a joke. One of the possible potion colors is plaid; one of the possible ring gemstones is kryptonite; one of the possible wand metals is mercury (try holding up a wand made out of a metal that's liquid at room temperature!); and one of the possible staff materials is fall (a "fall staff", [[Theatre/TheMerryWivesOfWindsor get it?]]).
* GoodBadBugs: The PC version had some notable bugs that allowed a savvy player to cheat, as explained on the GoodBadBugs/{{Roguelike}} page.

!!The book:
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: A young adult novel about middle schoolers that deals with child abuse, drug production, alcohol poisoning, gruesome burn injuries, and PTSD in kids.
