1* OneSceneWonder: Zawisza Czarny is technically present for a bit more than one scene (chapter and a half, to be more precise) but he still appears briefly while making one hell of an impression. In a series where most knights are presented as selfish, cynical, cowardly, arrogant, excessively violent or all the above, Zawisza is a true-blue [[KnightInSourArmor if jaded]] KnightInShiningArmor who outright says he is willing to stick to his ideals even if he's aware they will likely lead him to an untimely death.
2* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotPolitical: Some of Sapkowski's references have an anachronistic tinge to them and might be seen by some as commenting on modern events. The author doesn't help: One scene has a Hussite commander proclaim that their novel ideas combining infantry, wagonry and firearm tactics with a prominent use of psychological warfare "... shall be known by the trembling masses under a new name... terrorism". ''Yeeeaaahh...''
