->''"You know what cool is? You're looking at it!"''

Carlos Edwin "Carly" Colón, Jr. (born February 21, 1979) is a Puerto Rican professional wrestler, eldest Carlos Colón's four children (who is one of the three founders of the Puerto Rican World Wrestling Council).

Initially dipping his feet in the family business to amuse himself, peer pressure to aspire for more and the fact he almost instantly caught on with the WWC fans lead to Carly becoming a thirteen time universal champion and the youngest person to hold the title to boot. Still, Carly did not expect his wrestling career to last up until he got a developmental deal with Wrestling/{{WWE}} where he, known as Carlito Caribbean Cool (eventually shortened to just Carlito), won the United States Championship in his televised debut match against Wrestling/JohnCena, became only the second Puerto Rican to win the Intercontinental Championship after Wrestling/PedroMorales, and became one half of the first Unified Tag Team Champions of the brand extension era alongside his brother, Primo. He and Primo have also held the WWC tag team titles[[note]]Which he has also won with Konnan[[/note]] and the Puerto Rican Wrestling tag team titles.

He was released from WWE in 2010, after which he returned to WWC, splitting his time between it and the indie circuit. He would later make a short return to WWE in 2021[[note]]where it was rumored that a full-time run was imminent but things fell through[[/note]] before making a full comeback in 2023 and aligning with the Latino World Order.

Among the other promotions Carlito has left a mark in are Family Wrestling Entertainment, where he won the heavyweight title belt, the Ecuadoran Wrestling Alliance Revolution and the Costa Rica based First Wrestling Society, where he was World Champion of each, The Millennium Wrestling Federation where he won the undisputed title, the Funking Conservatory where he has won the television championship belt and the Peru based promotion Imperio, where he won the world title in his debut. The list does not stop at them either. Back in his home WWC, he went on to win the Puerto Rican Title belt from TNT.
----
!!"I spit in the face of tropes that do not want to be cool!":
* TheAce: He is the only wrestler to win a WWE title in two debuts. (His televised debut, which was also his debut on the [=SmackDown=] brand, and then in his debut on the Raw brand). This actually worked against him in real life as Wrestling/JimCornette accused him of just coasting by on the knowledge he was more talented than the rest of the OVW roster. On the other hand it might have worked out for the OVW roster, as his stints back to WWC eventually got some trainees spots on the WWC shows, which is always a helpful experience.
%%* AerialWrestler: As a face but even then he would just as often use it a feint to transition into another move than actually jump into anybody, which Mighty Python discovered [[EntertaininglyWrong when he expected Carly to wrestle like the typical high flier.]] Carlito did have a pretty corkscrew moonsault though.
* AfroAsskicker: He used to provide the page image. Carlito continued to wrestle with an afro even after Shawn Michaels demonstrated the drawbacks to it. In fact, don't draw attention to the drawbacks even to be helpful, it seems to make him wrestle better despite them. [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carlito_7806.jpg Here's]] Sean Carless's take.
* AlliterativeName: Carlos Colón, Carly Colón, Carlito "Caribbean Cool" Colón, his name and primary nickname could be angled to this any number of ways. Further still "The Cool Canadian Caribbean Connection", which was WWE.com's pet name for his pairing with Wrestling/TrishStratus but could refer to Carlito himself after he became a Canadian citizen.
* AlliterativeTitle: Canadian Wrestling's Elite ''Caribbean Cool Summer'' was a reference to Carlito's television title shot at Tyler Colton.
* AscendedExtra: Started out as a camera man in WWC.
* AuthorAvatar: He initially set out to start his own company but eventually became a partial owner of WWC, so he has other authors to keep him in check.
* BashBrothers: With Wrestling/{{Konnan}} up until Konnan hit his sister with a guitar. Then Savio Vega until Carlito dropped him at Invader #1's suggestion.
* BatmanGambit: Carlito poisoned the apple he usually eats, knowing Wrestling/TheBigShow was going to beat him up and knowing Show could not resist spitting apple chunks all over Carlito the way Carlito usually does to other people. If Big Show had simply not decided to take Carlito's apple, he would not have been poisoned.
* BattleCouple: With Trish Stratus, whom he just happened to save from [[Wrestling/JohnMorrison Johnny Nitro]] and Wrestling/{{Melina}} while looking to get revenge on Nitro. The two then fell for each other. Later with Brie Bella... against her sister Nikki, who was aligned with the Miz and John Morrison.
* BattleStrip: Early on in his career it was his wife beater. And [[CheapHeat the response to it]] would threaten to blow a hole in the roof. Later on in his career, he signaled that the end was nigh by unwrapping tape around his arms.
* BigDamnHeroes: Coming to his father's aid against Ray González, before he was a wrestler at that. Saving Trish from Johnny Nitro and later Wrestling/{{Edge|Wrestler}}. Attempted but failed with Randy Orton, who gave Trish an RKO while Edge held Carlito back.
* BigEntrance: One of his unofficial Red Barons, "The King Of Puerto Rico" was earned in 2005. Know how Wrestling/PrinceNana would brag about having members of The Embassy flown to the arena via helicopter? Carlito Caribbean Cool actually has been taken to a stadium in Caguas, Puerto Rico that way! For a WWC rematch of sorts against his little after getting injured wrestling for Smackdown.
* BitterSweetEnding
** The Universal Title was "frozen" after Carly and Bronco #1 were both down and three counted at the same time at the conclusion of Broco's title shot during Carly's 8th reign. Carly would later decisively beat Bronco, only to be stripped of the title, as he could put off his move to WWE no longer.
** At WWC Aniversario 2011, he retained the universal title belt against Wrestling/{{Abyss}} in a street fight (AKA, Monster's Brall) put got put through two chairs afterward and unable to stand while Abyss walked off.
* BraidsOfAction: Early in OVW, Carlito wrestled in cornrows.
* BrilliantButLazy: He's shown he's more than capable of handling his own against the likes of Wrestling/RandyOrton and Wrestling/JohnCena, but doesn't really care about his big losses and would be more content schmoozing, picking up women and the like, something Wrestling/RicFlair [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech calls him out on]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57HbCGhhL7o here.]]
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Eddie/Primo's Abel. They usually manage to get along though. When they do not, Carlito is usually the Cain. Primo often instigates the feud, but only because Carlito is such a jerk he has to be brought down a peg. (for instance, Carlito told the OVW staff he had no brother)
* TheCameo: In Wrestling/MontelVontaviousPorter's first music video, "Holla To The World"
* CaptainErsatz: Carlito's initial promos and actions on Smackdown made him out to be essentially [[Wrestling/ScottHall Razor Ramon]], but shorter. He would quickly undergo CharacterExaggeration regarding apples and from there eventually develop into something distinctive. Carlito and Razor Ramon would eventually have a series of encounters in 2007 under WWC.
* ChainPain: Unsuccessfully tried to turn this on Wrestling/TheOneManGang. It worked better when he defeated John Cena by hitting Cena with his own chain in his first Smackdown match. This trope later became the focal point of their feud as Carlito stole the chain and gave it to a hired thug named Jesus Aguilera to add insult to injury. John Cena would only refer to his fanbase as the "chain gang" once he finally got it back.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: And we're not just talking about his FinishingMove! The move is actually a back cracker version of the lung blower but Jim Ross started calling it the backstabber in reference to Carlito's betrayals of Wrestling/TorrieWilson, Ric Flair, Chris Masters and his brother Primo. Better yet, ask his father, whom Carlito turned on when he questioned why Carlito allowed his enemies of eleven straight years, La Artilleria Pesada (the tag team of Thunder and Lightning), to run loose while leaving Ray González out to dry after he helped unmask them.
* {{Crossover}}
** He continued to work at WWC shows even after he was called up to the main WWE roster. One storyline that started in WWC and ended in OVW revolved around his brother and sister refusing to believe the up until then {{face}} Carlito was wrestling as a {{heel}} in the continental United States. His feud with Rowdy Wrestling/RoddyPiper is a storyline that started on Smackdown and finished at a WWC event.
** Also, his semi regular partner Savio Vega is partial owner to rival promotion IWA.
** Shaquille O'neal (who would later be a guest host on Raw) hit Carlito with a folding chair for trying to disrupt a Miami Heat game.
* DamnedByFaintPraise: When Eddie Kingston pinned him after kicking Carlito in the balls when the referee was not looking, Carlito congratulated him "For beating someone who used to be on TV" and then giving him the backstabber.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: Pinned John Cena for the United States championship in his debut match.
* DemotedToExtra: His career looked pretty promising in 2004, but WWE buried him mostly due to real life drug problems which he refused to fix, leading to his dismissal. Carlito stated his drug problem was fairly recent and he wanted to be fired which is why he refused to go to rehab. He did rehab after getting his wish.
* DirtyCoward
** Hiding behind Jesus Aguilera during his feud with John Cena and Matt Morgan during his feud with The Big Show. In WWE he even had shades of it as a face, such as when he and Primo were confronted by The [[Wrestling/LondonAndKendrick Brian Kendrick]]'s bodyguard, Ezekiel Jackson and Carlito announced his intentions to slap "the big one" after Primo made his move.
** Also in his match with Ray González, where Carlito's head could have been shaved...back to the way it was before.
** His refusal to fight El Illegal Chicano face to face when El Chicko Illegal started finishing opponents with a knockout punch. ''Camino a la Gloria'' shown it might have just been a ruse.
* DistractedByTheSexy: During his father's WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, Carlito seemed a bit more interested in the two women leading his father to the stage than anything else.
* DrugsAreBad: During the IWA invasion of WWC, Savio Vega taunted Carlito Caribbean Cool with a medicine bottle, saying he will always see Carlito as a tecato for refusing rehab in WWE. He did this to provoke WWC into accepting the challenge laid at IWA's Summer Attitude event.
* EloquentInMyNativeTongue
** When he tried out for WWE he was asked to "spic up" his English. This trait had most disappeared by the time of his official debut however, the occasional misplaced pronoun aside.
** Played straight in IGF, IWS, DPW, QPW, STHLM and GWF even if you're assuming Japanese, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Swedish or German could be his third language.
* EnemyMine
** Ray González whenever they have the opportunity to face Thunder And Lightning(apart from their time in La Familia Milenio, which was mostly IWA anyway). Otherwise González prioritizes fighting Colóns. Ray González has also teamed with Carlito to fight Invader #1 and Invader #1 has teamed with Carlito to fight Ray González.
** Carlito Caribbean Cool and Wrestling/{{Chavo Guerrero|Jr}} worked together to unseat Monster Pain as the World Wrestling League World Champion, but their efforts proved to be in vein.
* EvilIsPetty: After Carlito and La Revolución injured Ray González in a cage, very likely ending his career, Carlito went into Rayting Minimarket and started to rearrange the merchandise.
* {{Expy}}: Lakay appeared on Latin American Wrestling Entertainment shows weary a white wifebeater and carrying shovel, just like Carly used to. His straw hat is a nod to Carly's father, but his stern attitude is still closer(if even more serious) to Carly than Carlos.
* EyeTake: When he and his NXT Rookie Michael Tarver were on losing streaks, Carlito yelled at the audience watching ''WWE Superstars'' to respect him and sported this look throughout his resulting match with John Morrison. Despite being a ten minute bout on a BShow it was perhaps the best match Carlito had all year just because of that expression. While wrestling the likes of Extreme Tiger, Mesías and Wrestling/LaParka in Wrestling/{{AAA}}, they made sure to zoom in whenever Carlito did his crazy eyes.
* FaceHeelTurn: Dragon Lee was attacked backstage, rendering him unable to compete at ''Wrestling/WrestleMania XL''. On the April 26 episode of [=SmackDown=], it was revealed that Carlito was behind the attack on Lee, turning heel and leaving the LWO.
* FinishingMove: The Backstabber (Double Knee Backbreaker)
* ForeignWrestlingHeel: In Ecuador, though he ended up dropping the War title belt to an Ecuadoran in Florida, inverting the trope.
* FullNameBasis: In OVW and WWE, he was never addressed or referred to as "Carly Colón" or "Carlito Caribbean Cool" anywhere else but his profiles on their websites. In WWC, he's almost always referred to by the entire title [[OneSteveLimit to distinguish him from]] El Sensacional Carlitos. The two have even teamed together but are usually kept far away from each other. Incidentally, there is an (s) in Carlitos because he was originally drafted up by the IWA as a {{parody}} of Carlos and Carlito Colon, but he became popular enough for WWC to hire [[ParodyAssistance without altering the gimmick]].
* FunnyAfro: Early in his WWE it was but the butt of many jokes and subject to a lot of physical abuse.
* GameBreakingInjury: His broken arm, which lead to him taking painkillers...
* GenerationXerox: {{Subverted| trope}}, he's the sibling who looks the most like his father and also the one who behaves the least like him. The one who looks least like daddy but is otherwise most like him is Eddie.
* GenreBlind: Yeah, he seemed to have never watched Looney Toones, or else never expected its tropes to apply on a wrestling show during his encounters with Wrestling/{{Hornswoggle}}. Poor Carlito, expecting WWE to make sense.
* GlassJawReferee: Carlito's {{exploit|ed trope}}ation of them lead to Hercules Ayala being named the referee for his and El Mega Campeon de AAA's Universal title match at WWC ''Euphoria'' 2011.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: At the July 2015 ''Noches de Coliseo'' in Monterrey, Estrellita tried to kick Carlito's ass for exposing Hijo del Ninja's by pulling down his pants. Carlito settled for whipping Rico Rodriguez and Barbi Hayden at her. Then they launched Carlito himself into her.
* HappyDance: Before doing the figure four leg lock, one that often involves stomping on the hamstring.
* HammerSpaceHair: His [[DesperationAttack momentum shift]] move in ''Day Of Reckoning 2'' sees him pull an apple from here. The former page image of AfroAsskicker was also of him holding weapons in his hair. He'd take up the apple move in actual matches later, just not the in the hair.
* HasAType: His attraction to a woman is directly proportional to the size of her butt, which Carlito attributes to himself being "half black".
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: As of March 2015, he basically became what Ray González was when he debuted to fight him. He even started bullying González's non wrestler son.
* AHeroToHisHometown: Though Carly was initially hit hard enough with TallPoppySyndrome that ''The Sun'' had an article about it. Carly was viewed as a sellout in Puerto Rico for signing a deal with the WWE. The signing was was even mocked by WWC's rival and former WWE developmental territory, the IWA. Once people actually saw his work in OVW and WWE, Carlito overcame the syndrome and became a hometown hero. He received a standing ovation when he made a brief return to Caguas Puerto Rico to wrestle his brother following the 2004 Survivor Series, despite the fact Carlito was still a heel.
* HeyThatsMyLine: His reaction whenever Primo said "That's cool!" when they were a tag team.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: During his 2005 Intercontinental Title defence against Wrestling/RicFlair, Carlito got the upper hand after hitting Flair with a mid-air dropkick. Rather that attempting to pin Flair, he left the ring to retrieve his apple, intending to spit it at his opponent as was his trademark. When he got back into the ring and took a bite, however, he walked into a right hand from the Nature Boy that knocked his mouthful of apple down his throat, and was still choking on it when Flair locked in the figure four, forcing him to tap out in short order.
* HypocriticalHumor: He teased Wrestling/AshleyMassaro for not taking care of her hair, then took it personal when she questioned this ''without'' making the obvious comeback about his. Carlito has admitted to doing very little to take care of his hair since he joined WWE.
* IntergenerationalRivalry: He is of the younger generation concerning his longstanding feud with Ray González. Technically he and Ray González Junior of the the same generation, but Carlito is so much older than the younger Ray that it still started off as PickOnSomeoneYourOwnSize.
* {{Irony}}
** MNM made their Smackdown debut on Carlito's Cabana, with Carlito proclaiming them to be "cool". John Morrison and Melina by proxy wound up being Carlito's most persistent enemies in WWE down the road. Also, his Bolin services teammate Da Beast would later be a regular foe of International Super Stars Carlito and Wrestling/{{Santino| Marella}} as Shad Gaspard in Crime Time.
** Carlito is the sibling most likely to turn on his father, his other siblings or the Victors, having a longstanding feud with Victor Jovica in particular. He's even faked starting his own company for misdirection in a hostile takeover of WWC angle and worked directly for WWC partner turned rival WWL while WWC was using their media platforms to criticize WWL. It was ultimately the more loyal, on and off camera, siblings Eddie and Stacy who lost their patience with Jovica's refusal to adopt pay per view and launched their own breakaway, Latin American Wrestling Entertainment, for real.
* {{Jerkass}}: Parodied as a face when he was a self proclaimed, proud jerk ass. One who found other people's (Randy Orton's) jerk ass behavior as a challenge to his own as the jerk ass of Raw.
* {{Jobber}}: A jobber team in his old Carly persona with [[Wrestling/MikeBucci Nova]] before they got called up to Smackdown as Carlito and Simon Dean(and had nothing further to do with each other).
* LatinLover: You know, if the lady is cool. Also, if a man was his opponent during Carlito's GorgeousGeorge phase in OVW (before he grew out his afro) or a woman was just unfortunate enough to be booked as his opponent on the indies, they'd quickly find out some of the moves in his arsenal resemble GRatedSex more than technical grappling.
* LetsYouAndHimFight
** Cost himself the WWC Universal Title this way in January of 2015 by choosing to go after a confused Ray González while the two of them were surrounded by La Revolución rather than team up. La Revolución went on to attack both of them and then set their sights on the third Universal title contender Mighty Ursus, yet González, Colón and Ursus still kept fighting each other.
** Finally averted, [[FaceHeelDoubleTurn when Carlito joined with La Revolución and Juan Manuel Ortega against Mighty Ursus.]] This was especially unexpected because Ortega had been on a campaign to rid pro wrestling of the Colóns.
* ManlyFacialHair: After dropping the GorgeousGeorge gimmick he grew a gotee to show how straight and macho he was. This eventually grew into a BeardOfEvil after his second heel turn, but after turning face again Carlito has been much regardless of how much facial hair he decides to leave on.
* MessyHair: Carlito intentionally does as little as possible with his hair. Sometimes it forms into a somewhat recognisable style inspite of his lack of effort, but most times the closest thing to "groomed" it looks like is as if he started something and then decided not to finish it.
* TheNapoleon: Not initially though, as he debuted when Smackdown still had a pretty strong cruiser weight division, so he was actually taller than almost half the roster. Definitely so on Raw though, and later with the abolition of the cruiser weight division. Also {{invoked| trope}} by Razor Ramon during their WWC feud, where he would refer to Carlito as "mini razor", even though their characters had nothing to do with each other, since Razor was a Cuban drug dealer, and Carlito was a guy from Puerto Rico who spits apples in people's faces.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: After his 2023 return, one of his first actions was to accuse supposed fellow LWO member Santos Escobar of intentionally leaving behind the brass knuckles that Creator/LoganPaul would use to hit Wrestling/ReyMysterio to win the WWE United States Championship from him at ''Crown Jewel 2023''. Escobar would later snap and split violently from the LWO, hospitalizing Rey and even attacking his longtime former partners and friends Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde. And even after Santos's FaceHeelTurn and saying some ''very'' nasty things to Rey, he's never said that he intentionally left the knuckles there to screw Rey over. So at best, Carlito's was right but should have handled the situation much more delicately for the good of everyone. At worst, Carlito was wrong and it was his very accusation that made Santos feel betrayed enough to leave the group.
* NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat: He suspected Wrestling/EddieKingston's tag team partner, Black Jack Marciano, of being homosexual, but said that was fine since there was a new law in New York that allowed him to settle down with Eddie.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: The Colóns (Carlito and Primo) were going to unify the World Tag Team Titles and the WWE Tag Team Titles in a match against Wrestling/TheMiz and Wrestling/JohnMorrison at ''Wrestling/{{WrestleMania}} 25''. This ended up as a dark match before the event.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Carlito is only three years younger than Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson but he looked like a student dating his teacher while he was with them. Not that either looked bad, just that Carlito looked boyish. Once he grew out his facial hair a little he looked more his age. By contrast, [[Wrestling/TheaTrinidad Rosita]], who he's been paired up with in FWE, is twelve years younger than him but it just looks like a junior dating a freshmen.
* TheOldestTricksInTheBook: La Parka Jr. taught him the "Look up at that, now look down at this!" trick in the WWL. Carlito thought it was really clever.
* OneSteveLimit: An example between two different promotions but worth mentioning since he was one of the few wrestlers who worked in both at the same time. Carlito feuded with a stable known as "La Familia" in both WWC and WWE on Smackdown, the former group could be distinguished as "del Milenio". Also, Carlito's talk show ensured Wrestling/ColtCabana wouldn't be able to retain use of his ring name on Smackdown the way Second City Saint stablemate Wrestling/CMPunk had.
* PecFlex: It's 2016 and the body guy is more cut than ever. His love for showing off lead to the an indecisive finish with Mr. 450, leaving the WWC Universal Title vacant ''again'' in September. He almost failed to regain it later in the month, having 450 beaten several times but being too busy bent over the ropes to give the audience a better look at his abs/biceps to realize it.
* PowerStable
** A member of Bolin Services in OVW, with Da Beast, The Giant Killer Mike Mondo and Kenny
** The Carlito Caribbean Company, who aimed to take over WWC. However, once they managed to get the company's stocks Carlito's accomplices turned on him, forcing his dad to set things right.
** Joined the [=lWo=] upon his return to WWE in 2023.
* RealMenLoveJesus: After stealing Wrestling/JeffHardy's slammy award, Carlito gave an acceptance speech in which he thanked Jesus along with [[Literature/TheTwilightSaga Team Jacob]], everybody's favorite place-Puerto Rico, and himself. The reason it was most likely not in reference to his old bodyguard is that that man was always referred to with a hard ''H'' sound while Carlito used a ''j''.
* RedBaron: Aside from "Caribbean Cool" becoming this after getting dropped from his ring name, Wrestling/JimRoss also dubbed him "The Southpaw From San Juan" due to being about the only left handed man on the WWE roster. "Bodyguylito" in FWE and House Of Hardcore due to his cuts at the time. "Bad Apple" in Kamikaze Pro, as that was the name of the show he debuted on.
* RememberWhenYouBlewUpASun: He got chants of "You Beat Cena!" at Wrestling/{{N|ational Wrestling Alliance}}WA New Jersey, which in turn lead to "Cena Sucks!" chants ringing out in a promotion that from then on would likely never have Cena under its banner.
* RingOfFire: Ended up in such a match after defeating Mighty Ursus in a steel cage match only to be jumped by the latter and friends and be put through a flaming table.
* TheRival: John Morrison in and out of WWE since they started as tag team partners in OVW. In WWC, he feuded with El Mega Campeon de AAA. At the same time he teamed El Mesías, who is the same man, in Wrestling/{{AAA}} itself. Carlito has also fought Chris Masters ''a lot''. His feud/friendship with "Puerto Rican Dream" Invader #1 carries over from his father. Then there is "Mr. Ratings" Ray González. Not only did Carly become a wrestler to beat Ray but they both use the figure four leg lock.
* RuleOfCool: And if you're not, he'll spit in your face. Literally.
* RunTheGauntlet: Put in a "Three Faces of Death Match" at ''WWC Aniversario 2010'' in which Carlito would have to run the gauntlet against three mystery opponents.[[labelnote:spoiler]]They were Orlando Colón, Wrestling/BookerT and Ricky Banderas, whom he knew very well.[[/labelnote]]
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: When he was sent to find the Undertaker on Smackdown, under threat of termination, and actually succeeded.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: OVW ran an angle where Carly would start showing up to training sessions late after joining Bolin Services. When Jim Cornette yelled at him for it Carlito's response was that he was a star now and could do whatever he wanted.
* ShovelStrike: A shovel was his signature weapon during his feud with La Familia de Milenio, and the shovel was a prized possesion of his brother for a few years while Carly was in and out of WWC.
* ShmuckBait: After running down why a peace offering Rico Casanova wasn't cool before challenging Tokyo Monster Kahagas for the CCW Heavyweight Championship belt, Carlito said he would give Casanova a chance to defend himself, to explain to all the people why he was in fact cool. Guess what happened as soon as Rico began speaking?
* SiblingTeam: With his brother Primo. They in turn teamed up with Wrestling/BellaTwins Nikki and Brie.
* SiblingTriangle: Nikki Bella hit on Carlito while his brother, Primo was flirting with Brie Bella, Brie neglecting to tell everyone on the Smackdown roster she had a twin sister. {{Hilarity ensue|s}}d until [[Wrestling/LisaMarieVaron Victoria]] and Wrestling/{{Natalya|Neidhart}} revealed the Bellas' "secret". The brothers took it surprisingly well.
* SignatureMove: As a face/tween: Knee to the gut-running knee lift-clothesline, Springboard back elbow, fireman's carry flapjack. He also used the figure four leg lock and a stunner in OVW and WWC. He used a rock bottom early on too.
* SleevesAreForWimps: Carly Colón started out wrestling with a shaved head in jeans and a wife beater. Later he'd wear no shirts with long gloves or arm bands, inverting the trope.
* SmallNameBigEgo: His heel turn in WWC saw him proclaiming himself to already be a Puerto Rican icon and calling the audience sheep for paying more attention to the national basketball team's victory over USA than to him.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Presumably Carlitos is from confusion with that other guy. Where Carleto comes from is a mystery.
* {{SpicyLatin|a}}o: {{Defied| trope}}, as though Carlito is definitely one in real life, various coworkers of his will let you know it, his WWE in ring persona was all about being "cool". He did have some temper flaring moments during his face runs though.
* SpitefulSpit: If he has an apple handy and you're uncool enough.
* SummonBiggerFish
** Vendetta Pro Wrestling commissioner Christian Cole booked Carlito in a match with Billy Blade due to disputes with Blade over who owned the company and Billy Blade's many disparaging remarks about "you kind of people", which in this case were Puerto Ricans.
** Alpha Omega Wrestling gave their former Desert Champion Dexter Milhouse one last chance to earn a shot at the belt during their ''Genesis'' event by wrestling Carlito, the catch being that if Milhouse lost they wouldn't [[LoserLeavesTown give him any more matches of any kind at all.]]
* SuperDeformed: [[http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131027182227/prowrestling/images/thumb/0/0b/Carlito.png/200px-Carlito.png In some of his WWE merchandise]] he was depicted this way.
* TalkShowWithFists: Carlito's Cabana, which he started on Smackdown after interrupting Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin while he was in Piper's Pit, claiming no one wanted to see those two uncool geezers and got his ass kicked for it. Carlito later decided to drop the Cabana order to be taken more seriously in response to being drafted to Raw but then initially being passed over for Eric Bischoff's survivor series team against Smackdown. Before doing this he got to feud with Wrestling/ChrisJericho over whether Carlito's Cabana or the Highlight reel would get particular guests. In Metro Pro Wrestling he brought it back, or rater he hosted "[[SelfDeprecatingHumor Carlito's Recession Cabana]]" since he could not afford any props.
* TalkToTheFist: Carlito's response to (the admittedly superior mat technician) Mentalo taunting him during a match for Canada's Wrestling Elite Title.
* TaughtByExperience: Carly's always tried to be a scientific wrestler but going abroad against the likes of Mentalo and Kendo [=KaShin=] taught him he had a little ways to go. It also meant when Two Time, Two Time All American American Wrestling/JackSwagger came to WWC to soften Carlito up for Ray González Swagger no longer impressed. He had the advantage over Colon for about a minute on the mat, but in that time Carlito was able to figure Jack out and have him asking for a tag out.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Carlito finds this page lacking in the proper gratitude its makers should be giving. Carlito does not think they understand what a gift he has given them by allowing them to watch him wrestle and educate the world on the tropes he displays while doing so. Carlito would show you all how it is done but editing wikis is not cool.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Apples, of course. But Carlito does not like them enough not to spit them at you uncool people behind your uncool screens.
* TrainingMontage
** His training sessions with Issac Rosario were shown in the lead up to his first real WWC matches.
** Carlito was ''used'' to help train Wrestling/VinceMcMahon in one of Vince's montages
* [[WildCard Tweener]]: When he made his full time return to WWC following his departure from WWE. He's remained an asshole, but he has a few [[{{pet the dog}} nice]] moments and tends to be cheered against others who could be called "rudos".
* TyopOnTheCover: When ''Guyana Times Entertainment'' announced he would be appearing on ''Maximum Sport'' they spelled his name Carleto, even though posters for the event went with Carlito.
* UnderwearOfPower: Started with pants at first. Then went to underwear/tights. Then went to wearing PaintedOnPants after that.
* UrExample: The first World Champion of Peru based Imperio.
* WorkedShoot: The WWC face book page was full of scathing criticism of then new promotion World Wrestling League, a week before Carlito, one of the WWC owners, started working for the WWL and eventually became a contender for their top title. It had to be an act unless someone was purposefully trying to get fired.
* WouldntHitAGirl
** ...unless they're booked in a match with him. Don't book women against Carlito casually.
** This trait got on Wrestling/CandiceLeRae's nerves, which lead to her relentlessly pounding on him, only stopping to yell at him to hit her. Carlito initially settled for {{deadly dodging}}, causing her and Wrestling/JoeyRyan to collide but when that wasn't enough it looked like Carly was finally going to fight back...only to be double teamed by the two before he could do anything.
* WrestlingFamily: Has a brother (Eddy, Primo), sister (Stacy), cousin (Orlando, Epico), uncle (Jose) and father (Carlos) who are also professional wrestlers.
* WrestlingPsychology: Early on in his career a complaint about Carly was that his charisma on the mic was not matched by his in ring psychology. He has wrestled as a methodical technician, gymnastic show boat, unhinged madman and playful flirt all believably through different moves and body language since, so perhaps he got better?
* WrongGenreSavvy: Carlito was convinced masked wrestler Rey Fénix (who helped Wrestling/{{Sting}} beat Carlito in his Puerto Rican debut) was really Ray González [[CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown trying to get around the fact he had been forced into retirement.]] This was a reasonable assumption, especially to those familiar with González's IWA run, but not even seeing the two in the same place at the same time could convince him otherwise, to the point Carlito put his hair on the line to prove it. After learning it was WWC booker Ricky Santana (González's former tag team partner) at ''Crossfire'', Carlito was so upset he told the crowd to go ask for refunds, though he noted company founder Victor Jovica would not see enough problem to give them.
* YankTheDogsChain
** He and Eddie were only WWC Tag Team Champions for a day before La Artilleria Pesada won the belts back.
** At ''BTW 1150'' he beat Flex Armstrong for the Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight Title only to lose the belt at the very next show, the very next day, when Armstrong invoked his rematch clause.
* YouAreNotReady: After losing the Universal Title to Wrestling/AbdullahTheButcher, this Carlito's advice to Eddy, who was the Puerto Rican Champion at the time, was going to face Adullah in a "Clash Of The Champions" match. (The Puerto Rican Champion won, proving Carlito wrong).
* YouHaveFailedMe: He gave Rico Casanova backstabber for accidentally costing him his War Title defense against Pablo Marquez at a Coastal Championship Wrestling Event.
