''Jeannie'' was a short-lived AnimatedAdaptation of ''Series/IDreamOfJeannie'', produced by Creator/HannaBarbera for Creator/{{CBS}}. In this incarnation, Jeannie (voiced by Creator/JulieMcWhirter in her first starring role) is found by a teenage surfer named Corry Anders, after finding her bottle on the beach. Jeannie fell in love with Corry and stayed with him and to win his love, she tried to help him with his everyday situations. Added to the main cast are Corry's best friend, Henry, and "junior-genie" Babu. The Great Hadji, Master of All Genies, was the only other character to be reused from the live-action series.

The series has never been released on home video due to conflicts with Creator/ScreenGems (and Hanna-Barbera's plans to reuse the "Jeannie" character ended up shelved). The show is primarily known from a CrossOver with ''WesternAnimation/TheNewScoobyDooMovies''. Babu appeared in ''WesternAnimation/LaffALympics'' (Jeannie herself only appeared in the opening and in a brief cameo in one episode).

!!Tropes:
* AdaptationDyeJob: The animated Jeannie, assuming she is meant to be Creator/BarbaraEden's original blond Jeannie, is portrayed as a redhead.
* BroughtDownToNormal: Jeannie loses her powers in one episode when her ponytail gets cut.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Jeannie for Corry.
* {{Expy}}:
** Teenage Corry takes the place of Major Anthony Nelson in the original series. Henry, Corey's wisecracking best friend, substitutes for Major Roger Healey.
** Regarding character design, Jeannie, Corry, and Henry also resemble [[Franchise/ScoobyDoo Daphne, Fred, and Shaggy]], they even share the same walk and run cycles as them.
** Babu seems to have been based on Creator/BobDenver's one-shot character, Harold, from the original show, who was also a genie whom Jeannie needed to train, though he does not seem to be Haji's son. Added to that, bizarrely enough, Babu wore what appears to be a male version of the live-action Jeannie's pink costume.
* FatAndSkinny: Babu and Jeannie themselves.
* HotterAndSexier: Although this was a children's show, which the original show never was, Jeannie's costume is much less modest than the original, including transparent pantaloons. She also shows her belly button! Makes you wonder why Corry doesn't want her instead of the other girls.
* IneptMage: Babu's yabble-dabbles rarely go as planned.
* InkSuitActor: Babu strongly resembles his voice actor, Joe Besser.
* MagicalGesture: Jeannie flips back her ponytail; in one episode, she loses her powers when she gets her hair cut to impress Corry.
** In the Scooby-Doo episode, Jeannie winks as she flips her ponytail.
* MsFanservice: Seriously, have you looked at Jeannie?
* NiceGuy: Henry, normally, especially in contrast to Corry; though he develops AcquiredSituationalNarcissism in "Don Juan" and in the Scooby-Doo crossover.
* ObliviousToLove: Corry is oblivious to the fact that Jeannie loves him.
* OurGeniesAreDifferent: There are such things as "junior genies," for starters. In the Scooby-Doo episode, Babu is described as an apprentice genie — and has been so for 1500 years due to his being so inept!
** Unlike the original show, Jeannie could be filmed, [[NegativeContinuity not that the live-action show was ever consistent about that...]]
* RedGreenContrast: Playing with the trope, Jeannie has red hair and is more sensible, whereas Babu has green skin and hasn't mastered his genie powers.
* SkintoneSclerae: Everyone except Jeannie.
* SurferDude: Corey is one.
