The year is 20XX...

People are very lazy because they have Net Navis that do everything for them since even desks are controlled through the internet. Some people use these Net Navis for fighting and are called "Net Battlers". But, who is the strongest Net Battler? This new tournament will decide that.

'''''[[http://mmbn7-twt.smackjeeves.com Megaman Battle Network 7: The World Tournament]]''''' is a ''[[VideoGame/MegamanBattleNetwork Megaman Battle Network]]'' sprite comic made by Pharaoh Man (no, not ''[[VideoGame/MegaMan4 that]]'' one). Having been running since January 2010, the comic takes place after the events of ''Megaman Battle Network 6'' and focuses on a tournament, in which various Battle Network characters participate to decide who's the strongest. However, unbeknownst to most of them, a mysterious copycat known only as Regurk aims to create chaos - and while his actions and the tournament seem unconnected, they somehow intertwine at points.

!!''Megaman Battle Network 7: The World Tournament'' provides examples of the following tropes:

* AscendedExtra: [=CopyMan=] was just a bonus boss in ''Battle Network 3''. Here, he's the main villain's Navi.
** Ring and her [=NetOp=] Mary only ever showed up in the game ''Battle Chip Challenge'' and then never showed up again. Here, they're side characters, but that's more than they've received since their original game.
* BigBad: Regurk is shaping up to be this.
* BigDamnHeroes: Just when it looks like Sean and Dusk will get hacked apart by Copybot!Eraseman, he gets sniped by Copybot!Searchman.
* BigNo: Given by Lan when he finds out Soul Unisons aren't allowed in the tournament.
* BlatantLies: When asked why Lan should believe him when he states they're allies again, [[spoiler: Dusk]] claims he's "realized the error of my ways... and stuff." Lan is not convinced.
* ButtMonkey: A lot of the fodder characters, but the most notable example of the main characters is Sean. Insulted by his own navi, ignored by his friends, a girl he likes is only interested in Bass and Megaman; the guy can't catch a break.
* CampGay: Averted by ''[[DudeLooksLikeALady Viddy Narcy]]'' of all people - he's apparently so secure about his sexuality he can wear whatever he wants.
* ComicBookTime: A particularly ridiculous example: the comic has been going for over 4 years, and yet not a ''single day'' has passed in-universe until the Sweet Sixteen Arc.
* CrosshairAware: Eraseman sees the crosshairs lock onto on him right before being sniped by Searchman.
* CurbStompBattle: Several, especially the ones where major characters fight lesser opponents.
* DangerousWorkplace: Scilab, just as it is in the games, up to the point where it is attacked ''twice'' in one day.
* DoubleEntendre: When asked where Bass is by Kalinka, Sean replies "In my pants." [[spoiler: In his PET]]
* DumbassHasAPoint: Anetta is a flake here, being easily distracted by whatever animal she sees, yet she [[spoiler: is able to think of a way to track Regurk through Dark Scythe. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Baryl]]
-->[[spoiler:'''Anetta:'''You probably don't know this, but Raika put [[BuffySpeak some spy... thingy]] on your PET.\
'''Baryl:''' Anetta...\
'''Dark Scythe:''' Is that so? Eraseman, find it and delete it.\
'''Anetta:''' WAIT! We can use it! If... if you send Regurk an e-mail we'll be able to locate him! We'll be able to stop him! So please help us!\
'''Baryl:'''Wait... That's a great idea! ...Why didn't I think of that?!]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even Regurk - a guy who burned down part of Sharo and tried to have several characters killed - wouldn't steal from a kid in a wheelchair. He isn't above beating up kids who stole from a kid in a wheelchair, though.
* TheGenericGuy: The Normal Navis, the most common and basic model.
* GoryDiscretionShot: During Tomahawkman and Woodman's match, Woodman has Tomahawkman pinned down but Tomahawk is able to grab his tomahawk. Woodman is essentially a giant tree. [[{{Squick}} Do the math]].
* ICallHimMisterHappy: Lan named his Little Lan.
* ImagineSpot: Both Chaud and Sean have one concerning Baryl's reaction to them breaking an official copybot.
* InsistentTerminology: Bass isn't Sean's navi, Sean is Bass' human slave.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Dex and Gutsman have trained for a whole month, sleeping for only one hour a day, in order to get to Lan and Megaman's level. How well has it gone? [[spoiler: While they haven't fought Lan and Megaman yet, they've [[AvertedTrope fully averted the trope]] by not only curbstomping Sunayama and Desertman, but also defeating Wily and [[ThatOneBoss Drillman]]''! And later on, defeating Protoman too!]]
* HypocriticalHumor: Megaman calls Shadowman's retreating "typical ninja"... while in Shadow Soul. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Protoman.
* JerkAss: ''Everyone'' at one point or another.
* LoopholeAbuse:[[spoiler: Dr. Hikari realises in his match against Ryu & Cosmoman that Cosmoman's Infinite Cosmos attack locates the enemy and fires off an infinite number of meteors at them, but Cosmoman needs to actually ''see'' the opponent for it to work.]]
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler: Regurk is Mamoru's half-brother.]]
* MasterOfDisguise: Regurk.
* TheMole: [[spoiler: Anetta is one, having been hired by Baryl to get information on Regurk. Unfortunately, Regurk figures this out.]]
* NakedFirstImpression: Not really first impression in-universe, but Lan and Mayl's first interaction in the comic has Lan running out the front door where Mayl is waiting for him... and forgetting to put on his shorts.
* OhCrap: Regurk is at first delighted that Bass and Serenade will be facing each other in a battle to the death, as they're two of the three Navis that [=CopyMan=] can't copy fully. Then, as [[spoiler: Bass killed Serenade, he remembered that Bass' special ability was to absorb abilities from those he defeated, meaning that Bass is now pretty much unstoppable]].
* PowerGlows: When Full Synchro is used by [[spoiler: Ryu and Cosmoman]]
* TheCameo: A lot of the "original" characters include [[WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones Fred Flintstone]], [[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender Toph]], [[Anime/YuGiOh Isis]], etc.
* TheWorfEffect: In a comic with plenty of [[CurbStompBattle Curb-stomp battles]] to go around, this is to be expected.
* WorfHadtheFlu: [[spoiler: Lan was not paying attention to Mach during the start of the fight at all and tried to finish the match quickly without thinking, allowing Mach and BlastMan to take advantage of Lan's carelessness and trainwreck Megaman and Lan for the first half of the fight.]]
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Let's just say Bass isn't satisfied with simply making his opponent log out.
* TournamentArc: The whole comic: The preliminary round consists of 16 divisions for each navi type (Normal has 4 division) with 4 participants each, where the winner of each division moves on to the final part of the tournament. The only part of the comic that doesn't focus on the tournament is Regurk's side plot - thought that still intertwines with the tournament at points.
