-->-- rule #1 of the [REDACTED] SMP

Started on by Garfilled, the [REDACTED] SMP is an analoguewell, inspired by[=/=]SurrealHorror VideoGame/Minecraft server with an ongoing plotline, containing Garfilled, Deytra, Spleep, Ludocrypt, Elixer, Queenie, [=Trouble0=], Zeemyth, Pianocat, Povertybag, Debunky, and many other content creators.

A small group of people are stranded in the wilderness, many with no idea how they got there. Despite initial assumptions, it rapidly becomes clear that Understatement something strange is afoot, as a shadowy figure watches from the distance and eyes are seen gazing out from the darkness. Despite the increasing danger, a small town begins to form around spawn.

Then, they start finding cameras in the woods. The same shadowy figure from before appears again, this time seeming to lead Garfilled straight into the outpost; a destroyed facility of a camera company known as the A.R.G, who are secretly experimenting with the worlds magic for unknown purposes. Here, they learn that Garfilled is Entity-01 "The Harbinger", a being who draws magical phenomena towards him, even across worlds.

From there, it touches upon the social ramifications of Garfilled's condition and (dangerous) attempts to cure him, Zeemyth's attempts to avoid detection contested by Elixer's investigations into the A.R.G., Povertybag and Debunky attempting to become the richest on the server, as well as assorted little bits like a vandalism investigation and cafe renovation.

Note: Unless otherwise specified, all tropes pertain to the characters, not the content creators that play them.

----
!![REDACTED] SMP contains examples of:
* AloofLeaderAffableSubordinate: Povertybag and Debunky's dynamic. While Povertybag is terse and business-focused, Debunky is energetic and seems to get along well with the other members of the server. Jerkass Neither of them are particularly respectful towards others, though.
* AppliedPhlebotinum: Apparently, blaze rods are radioactive and if you damage a lodestone, it sends energy out the side. Both of these have been used in attempts to cure Garfilled. [[spoiler:It didn't work.]]
* BotanicalAbomination: After nearly a green, plant-like thing covers most of the laboratory Trouble and Zeemyth were using. Tellingly, they choose to block it off, albeit with glass, rather then simply clearing it out of the lab.
* CatFolk: Garfilled, at least visibly. Deytra has cat ears and paws. Pianocat is just a straight example.
* TheCommandments: The [REDACTED] SMP apparently used to have a list of rules, but the video has been declared non-canon. The page quote is still from it, though.
* DiagnosisKnowingTooMuch: Apparently being pulled on the subjects with regard to the Entities, and is likely going to happen if any of the subjects survive.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Trope, but present:
** At one point, an unknown individual working for the A.R.G. calls Debunky's prank on Queenie cruel. Later(?), some of their agents were killed by Entity-14 when they objected to its work.
** Povertybag also helps Queenie find boarding despite not gaining anything himself.
* FastKillingRadiation: Trope with blaze rods as Trouble0 considered it a legitimate possibility that their device could be used as an execution chamber.
* Foreshadowing: Quite a bit, although it has yet to come to fruition. The start of Povertybag's videos tend to imply that something bad is going to happpen, and it'll his fault. The A.R.G's footage has shown that they plan to "neutralise the threat" when the time is right.
* FromBadToWorse: At first, the entities were only ghouls, Lurkers and the Observer, but over time, Shadow Entities, Pyromaniac a new observer, the static entity and Luna have joined their numbers; this is Hangingd by Trouble.
* GenericistGovernment: The town around spawn has a mayor and elections; it also has taxes and Povertybag is attempting to from a militia. Other then that, no information has been provided. Even the people living there don't seem to know much about its workings.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom:
** Lurker Entities have glowing eyes which are the only visible parts of their body.
** Povertybag's eyes are seen glowing in a FlashForward. From context, it appears to be related somehow to the void, although nothing else is currently known.
** The Observer's only feature is its red eyes, and the similar entity Pyromaniac targeting Deytra has larger eyes that burn bright enough to tint its entire body red.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: During Trouble's (consensual) attempts to cure Garfilled of his condition, [[spoiler:the 3rd experiment involved using a lodestone to send pure energy into Garfilled, hoping this would cure him because lodestones attract compass needles and therefore are connected to attraction and disattraction and that has to do something, right?]] [[spoiler:Although thanks to Trouble's heroism, they avoided blowing up most of spawn, but they did accidentally summon some kind of alien plant monster.]]
* HumanoidAbomination:
** Garfilled, AKA Entity-01 "The Harbinger", resembles a humanoid cat, emits harmful doses of radiation that are partially covered by his armour, draws entities and other supernatural phenomena towards him, but is ultimately a nice, trustworthy individual and IJustWantToBeNormal desires to be cured of his condition.
** Entity-02 "The Observer" is a strange black creature that appears, watches people, and disappears the moment somebody's crosshair goes over it. Nobody seems to have any idea why it does this, although it either led Garfilled towards the outpostā€¦ or was heading there itself.
** To make matters even stranger, a very similar Entity has been targeting Deytra through Pyromaniac arson, although it's unclear if they're the same entity or different. invokedWordOfGod on the matter is that the pyromaniac's skin that we see is a shell keeping whats beneath contained, which appears to be magma or lava.
** The Faceless is an Entity resembling a player and capable of taking the form of anyone it wishes, including clothing. It's also capable of mimicking voices, is immune to arrows, has healed from having its arm cut off in seconds (albeit with the regenerated parts starting in a Steve skin), and is heavily implied to have been working for the A.R.G.
* IconicItem: Invoked by Zeemyth with his spyglass. Played straight with Povertybag and his diamond axe.
* ImproperlyParanoid: Both Povertybag and Debunky have expressed fears of the other members of the SMP attempting to kill them. Despite Trouble's duplicitous experimentation and Zeemyth's espionage, the rest of the SMP have rarely shown any real hostilities towards them or anyone really (well, except Garfilled that one time). Except for Queenie and Debunky.
* KillerRobot: The robot the A.R.G. sends to .
* LackOfEmpathy: Debunky has sent Queenie on a months-long snipe hunt and badgered Garfilled about his DoomMagnet status. Povertybag has also demonstrated similar qualities in pursuit of diamonds.
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** Debunky sends Queenie on a months-long search for a party he made up. When she returned, Povertybag ensures that she ends up boarding with him.
** Later on, Trouble is enslaved by Entity-14 "The Computer"; guess who ends up
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Terms like 'server' and 'SMP' have been used by the players, and one of Trouble's early videos is framed as a Minecraft tutorial someone was forcing him to make.
* LightningCanDoAnything: So far, lightning has been used to make Shadow Entities visible and prevent an explosion.
* LuredIntoATrap: Very commonplace across the server, being done by both Entities and subjects alike.
** Deytra and Garfilled use Garf as bait to lure beneath some gravel in a mineshaft in order to trap it to get around its .
** Entity-14 "The Computer" sends out a signal that Trouble can pick up but needs a neural interface to decipher, which lures them to its location so it can [[spoiler:MindRape them into being its slave, as it lacks a body and had to kill off the A.R.G's scientists after they objected to its experiments. They get out of it and kills the computer, although it apparently has backups somewhere.]]
** Entity-15-A does this to by abducting dog and taking it to the PocketDimension where it sends everything it swallows. It also apparently likes to do this using Entity-15-C.
* MadnessMantra: The book Trouble finds goes a littleā€¦ overboard with assuring them that they're not crazy. Also seems to be happening with Zeemyth's orders, although why and what it means is as of yet unclear.
* NeckLift: How the new Observer Entity kills Deytra, although it appears to also have a burning touch. She gets better, though.
* NiceGuy: After Garfilled decides to stay in his house so the town will be safe from him, his OnlyFriend Deytra comes to him every day with food despite his protests. Garfilled himself is rarely anything other then polite and cordial, and is willing to risk himself if it means minimising the harm he causes.
* OurGhoulsAreCreepier: Here, ghouls are undead who rise from the ground either individually or in large numbers, albeit mainly around Garfilled. They don't appear to have any special abilities but are still considered a threat, possibly because of higher stats or just because of their numbers.
* PracticalCurrency: The server uses diamonds as currency, which, considering the medium, are also able to be crafted into some of the best equipment in the game.
* ScrewThisImOutOfHere: This was the prevailing wisdom for the early SMP when encountering Entities. Trope later on as subjects acquire more gear, experience and numbers, becoming bolder.
* StraightManAndWiseGuy: A not-insignificant part of Debunky and Povertybag's dynamic, although it is largely overshadowed by Povertybag's status as mayor.
* TrainingMontage: How Povertybag trains Debunky in PVP, which includes several actual and useful tricks.
* VillainProtagonist:
** Viewers have the option to look through the perspectives of Povertybag in his villager scamming, Greed questionable motives for pursuing office and
** Also of note is Zeemyth, who is deliberately slowing down and spying on the subjects for the A.R.G.
** Or you could just watch the A.R.G's own short videos and cut out the middle man.
* YouAreNumberSix: Trope but present among the A.R.G, who have numbered the subjects and entities, although only the Computer has been referred to as such to their face. Zeemyth has yet to refer to any subjects by their numbers, although if this is part of his disguise or a personal choice is unclear.
