''[[https://gamejolt.com/games/holofunk/754195 HoloFunk: Hololive Funkin']]'' is a WebAnimation/{{Hololive}}-themed ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'' GameMod-turned-original FanGame led by [[https://twitter.com/Codexes1 Codexes]]. Having started life as a simple asset-swap crossover mod for ''FNF'', it would go on to evolve into an overhaul mod and later an independent UsefulNotes/{{Unity}} fangame featuring the cast of ''hololive'' as opponents and cameos alike, with songs included in the Weeks being remixes of [[AwesomeMusic/{{Hololive}} the talent's songs]], remixes of pre-existing songs outside of ''hololive'' (such as Kiryu Kai Forever featuring ''VideoGame/{{Yakuza}}'' songs to {{Homage}} the game series and to serve tribute to Kiryu Coco) and original songs. Up to 8 Weeks are included in 6.0, counting the {{Crossover}} Week with ''VS Music/{{Camellia}}'' and the ([[VideoGame/NonCanonInaWeek canon]]) Ninomae Ina'nis week.

Over a year after her departure, ex-talent [[WeHardlyKnewYe Mano Aloe]] decides it's time to strike out on her own. But a problem quickly arises: how ''do'' you build your own career from scratch? She, at the behest of ex-genmate and ImpliedLoveInterest Momosuzu Nene, decides to find Tokino Sora to get some advice, but Hololive's first idol is nowhere to be found after a long tour. So the duo decides to get searching; as the rest of Hololive's quirky cast is drawn to them, HilarityEnsues.

Prior to [[ContinuityReboot 6.0]], the story of ''[=HoloFunk=]'' was [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness vastly different]] from current versions of the game, containing enough unique tropes to warrant its own page as a separate work. To see those, click [[VideoGame/HoloFunkPreSixPointZero here]].

----
!![=HoloFunk=] provides totally-seiso examples of:
* TwentyMinutesIntoThePast: Though the full assembly of the game's story began during the summer of 2021 when it takes place in-universe, 6.0.0 being released in 2023 renders the setting this trope even after its revisions. The dates align as well, with Week 1's date of July 16th being a Friday (that date was also a Friday in 2021.)
* AchievementSystem: Version 5.0 onwards, with the addition of [=GameJolt=] integration, added Achievements that are typically earned by completing songs in story mode or freeplay.
* AKA47: Botan's AK-47 rifle seen in Week 3 is labelled "SSR-47" (presumably standing for, '''S'''hi'''S'''hi'''R'''on-'''47''') on the receiver.
* TheAllegedCar: Botan's iconic [[JokeItem shopping cart]] from her ''[[VideoGame/{{Trials}} Trials: Rising]]'' streams appears in Week 4, carrying all of [[Characters/HololiveJapanGenerationFive NePoLaBo]] zooming alongside, giving their former gen-mate Aloe Mano moral support.
* AmusingInjuries: 6.0.0 "upgrades" Polka's treatment on the shopping cart with her genmates to this, with Week 4's dialogue being updated to mention her [[TapOnTheHead getting knocked out from whiplash]] and the loading screen for [[spoiler:"BIG SHOT" showing her getting hit by a Pipis and flung into the abyss of the Cyber World]].
* AnotherDimension: [[spoiler:Wherever Haachama takes Aloe/Fubuki in "Red And Black". While it appears that Haachama merely kidnapped the protagonists and brought them to her kitchen, with the implication it was AllJustADream, the Week 5 clear achievement is titled "Haachama Dimension", suggesting this trope is in effect.]]
* AprilFoolsDay: Exclusive to the version 2.1.0 build is a different collection of various "joke sprites." Examples include:
** The opening title reading "VideoGame/{{hollow knight}} FUNKY".
** Calliope getting a [[Website/{{Twitch}} Poggers]] face, just like what Calliope Mori did for the end of one stream; plastering a "Callipog Mori" image over her face.
** Ame and Gura being depicted as their "smol" counterpart, not just limited to their miss animation.
** Nene's face getting put on the speaker, with a purple [[VideoGame/AmongUs Crewmate]] twerking on top.
** Botan being a mess of various sprites; her idle glitching with her face getting the worst of it, her down pose being two of her 3D model renders in one, and her up pose / one part of her idle replacing her head with Pico. [[note]]Possibly a {{Self Deprecat|ion}}ing jab at the fact she's largely a model-swap due to all of her songs being glorified remixes of Pico's[[/note]]
** Finally Aloe herself who, while not subject to much craziness in comparison to the others, doesn't seem to know how to process any of this. Though, her losing character icon [[Memes/Jerma985 looks a little sus]].
* ArtisticLicenseGunSafety:
** Averted. Botan practices good trigger discipline while holding her Kalshnikov rifle in all previous versions featuring her prior to the redesign, in which she keeps her rifle holstered on her back while rapping Aloe and Fubuki.
** Coco also keeps her finger off the trigger of her pistol, but unlike Botan, waves it around recklessly while singing.
* ArtShift:
** There are brief moments in Week 2 where the sprites of Gura and Amelia switches to [[https://twitter.com/walfieee Walfie's]] "smol" style, punctuated with soundbytes of Ame's "'''H I C'''"s or Gura's signature "a". These elements get used again when Gura and Amelia are particularly terrified in cutscenes.
** Week 6's background and the characters appearing in it use the unadulterated art styles of several artists on the team (confirmed to be a mix of CJ, Grand Hammer 6, and [=RadioactShark's=] styles), as it's set in a video game. The result is everyone being drawn in a more {{Animesque}} manner slightly out-of-sync with the way non-SuperDeformed characters are portrayed in the ''FNF'' artstyle, Aloe/Fubuki and Nene/Mio included. [[spoiler:This naturally stops once the console breaks and Aloe/Fubuki needs to face down Korone]].
** Update 6.5.0 is set to introduce an adaptation of King Kman's "[[VideoGame/FridayNightFunkinOnlineVS Challeng-EDD]]" animation, retaining the art style used for that video.
* AscendedExtra: Mano Aloe, a short-lived retired member of ''hololive'', takes the spotlight in this GameMod as the playable character.
* {{Ashface}}: The losing sprite of Botan in the Week C features an animation of the SSRB exploding in her hand, leaving her with a blackened face with visible beady eyes staring ahead in pure disbelief.
* AssShove: Implied. One of the background images in the 4.0 main menu features art of a ''very'' excited Coco preparing one of her infamous Plug-In-Type [[FantasticDrug Asacoco™]] in front of a terrified Aloe.
* AxCrazy: [[spoiler:Haachama]] barely looks to be holding it together in her Week 2 and 5 appearances, having twitchy EmptyEyes throughout.
* BaitAndSwitch: [[spoiler:Akai Haato's song "Haachama", starts off as the peppy love song "Red Heart", before [[LettingTheAirOutOfTheBand slowing to a crawl]] and subsequently being replaced with a horror themed mix of "Haachama Cooking" with [[BossRemix elements of the former song]] slipping in later on.]]
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: [[spoiler:"Red and Black" partially evokes this trope with the battle taking place in the mysterious "Haachama Dimension." Though not fully explained whether or not it is a separate location or a mind attack, Aloe and Nene (or Fubuki and Mio) eventually do escape]].
* BossWarningSiren: [[spoiler:The "spell card time limit" warning sound from ''Franchise/TouhouProject'' is sampled towards the end of Haachama's song in Week 2, as the tempo starts to accelerate faster and faster.]]
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: Polka's outfit for this mod ditches the color motifs of her original appearance for a black bomber jacket with the letters "POL" written in large gold letters on both sleeves.
* BrutalBonusLevel: After Week 5, an additional song opens up in the extras menu detailing the immediate aftermath. [[spoiler:Aloe and Nene decide to go to an isolated grotto to practice singing, only for Rushia to show up and reveal that it's her territory. After initially threatening to kick their asses, she settles to challenge them in a rap battle over the death metal song "Killer Scream." The song in question does not pull any punches in comparison to the five weeks throughout, due to Rushia's singing (and memetic screaming) draining your health throughout the song, forcing you to get a good hit-rate [[note]]Not just hitting the notes without missing, also getting an "Awesome!" or at least "Good" hit-rate, while avoiding a "Bad" or "Yabai" hit-rate.[[/note]] to survive her verses all the way to the end. [[KaizoTrap Especially the end]].]]
* TheCameo: [[Characters/HololiveEnglishGenerationTwoCouncil HoloCouncil]] appears on a poster in the Week 5 mall.
* CameoCluster: Like the vanilla version, Week 5 features a large cast of characters watching over the holiday-themed rap battle with Takamori. The upper level includes VideoGame/{{Pico}}, A-Chan, YAGOO, [=ENMa-Chan=], Oga, Arurandeisu, [[VideoGame/{{BETADCIU}} Blantad]], Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Music/{{Camellia}}, Koefficient, [=Cr1TiKaL=], [[CreatorCameo Destiny]], [[WebVideo/VShojo Nyanners]], Towa, Roboco, Risu, [[MeaningfulBackgroundEvent Haachama in disguise]] and [[WebVideo/VOMSProject Pikamee]]. The Holo-members watching on the same floor include Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, [=IRyS=], Houshou Marine, Minato Aqua and Hoshimachi Suisei.
* CantDropTheHero: A variant; if a song uses unique assets for whoever's singing and/or doesn't use Boyfriend's voice, the playable character for it can't be replaced in freeplay.
* ContrivedCoincidence: The Fubuki Side is largely a retread of Aloe's route; meeting up with the exact cast of characters in the general same location with the same songs to accompany Fubuki's [[ExcusePlot "hunting the mysterious thief" plotline]]. Some of is at least {{Justified|Trope}} [[note]]As part of her detective work, Fubuki retraces the steps of the witnesses by convincing them to meet up in the same location they've been in, while Coco stills sticks around the clan to potentially avert any {{Yakuza}}[=-related=] catastrophe. On top of that, there's some notable differences in how the scenarios play out: Kiryu Coco's Week ends in the beverage bar she intended to go to at the beginning[[/note]], but you still have stuff like the [=NePoLaBo=] cruising through the same street on a shopping cart in Week 4, meeting up with Fubuki and Coco rapping on top of a moving limousine like Aloe and Coco did before.
* ComedicWorkSeriousScene: [[spoiler:Mio's inferred DisneyDeath in Week 5 is taken completely seriously, despite the comedic plot of the rest of the game]].
* CoolMask: Botan partially dons a kabuki-style cat mask in her Week 3 appearance. The wanted posters in the same level, as well as the initial character portraight, also features her fully wearing it.
* CoverVersion: Week 4's Cinderella is basically Coco's (drunk) karaoke cover of ''24-Hour Cinderella'', originally sung by Majima Goro in ''VideoGame/Yakuza0''.
* CreatorCameo: Destiny Omáda, the alter ego of ''[=HoloFunk's=]'' music director [=GGalactigal=], makes an appearance in the crowd alongside the many other cameos present in Week 5.
* {{Crossover}}: Received one with ''Vs. Music/{{Camellia}}'' in 5.0, with both mods receiving their own versions of "Lioness Pride," a single by Botan which Camellia had a hand in composing. On the former mod's side, the mod's cast ''finally'' meets Boyfriend in person... although there's [[IdiotHero a reason]] Kenji from 5.0 and below wasn't supposed to be him, as he doesn't register their presence until Botan is halfway through introductions.
* DemotedToExtra: Boyfriend and Girlfriend are nowhere to be found in the mod's story outside of their cameo in Week 5, and are merely a cosmetic option for Aloe and Nene in freeplay when it comes to the foreground. All content related to them outside of this largely consists of novelty trivia that has no bearing on gameplay, and they cannot be brought into any song that either does not use his voice or uses alternate character sprites. That being said, the reworked "Test" throws them a bone by being the song required to unlock them and making their use mandatory there.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: To learn of the codes used for accessing different MV songs, you must input "password" into the hidden password menu, upon which it'll ask you to input the randomly presented song code.
* DevelopersForesight: If you play as Nene in Freeplay for songs "Tutorial" and "iCarly", where she normally sings with Aloe, the singing roles will be appropriately reversed: Nene taking the lead and singing first with Aloe following suit.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** The mod as a whole started life as a simple sprite-swap for ''FNF'' in the first 'Beta' version that replaced Boyfriend with Aloe in her classic design, as it was a tribute to Mano Aloe after her unfortunate early graduation. Later on in life it would evolve into a much larger in scale mod with overhauled Weeks that feature the ''hololive'' cast as opponents/cameos, with whole new songs replacing the pre-existing ones.
** The mod's sprites originally intended to give each talent featured their original outfits from ''hololive'' proper. Aloe and Nene's redesigns for launch and later the mod's entire art direction would instead give them casual clothes they'd hypothetically wear (assuming they don't already have an urban life outfit, like with Calli).
** The first depiction of Aloe, Nene and Calli all depict them with SkintoneSclerae like BF and GF in vanilla, before the above mentioned launch would move away following the change in art direction. This minor design aspect would later be included in ''VideoGame/DokiDokiTakeover''[='=]s ''Plus'' update, presumably to match up with the designs of the characters in ''DDT''.
* EasterEgg:
** While there's little to no reason to play the untouched vanilla Weeks in the early versions prior to 5.0, trying to do so for Week 6 reveals the dialogue has changed to reference the infamous Grubhub commercial.
** Music/{{Camellia}}'s unique GameOver theme is "Seethe," a remix of "[[VideoGame/{{Yakuza}} Baka Mitai]]." However, there's a very low chance it'll replace Aloe or Fubuki's own themes upon losing in place of the original game's ''VideoGame/GitarooMan'' easter egg, which earns an achievement.
** Using the debug tools to play as Botan in Week 2 reveals that she will simply glance at her partner in [[SeenItAll amusement]] during the thunderclaps, referencing her legendary impervious to {{Jump Scare}}s.
** There is a 1/4096 chance (3/4096 with the Shiny Charm purchased) that Fubuki will start a song as "shiny," which primarily turns all shades of blue in her sprites red and references her shiny-hunting streams in ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl''.
* ExpressiveShirt: Watson wears a ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}''-themed chain that changes blocks depending on her sprite's mood during cutscenes. It starts out as a normal Grass block, but becomes a TNT block whenever she is angry or vexed.
* FailedASpotCheck: The mall Santa being held at gunpoint in Week 5 has his role filled by Ina in this mod. Why her of all people when Calli and Kiara are the week's opponents? Because Calli ''legitimately thought she was the real deal'' based only on a hat and fake beard.
* FictionalVideoGame: The setting of Week 6 mostly takes place within the unnamed HighSchoolAU themed game played by the holomembers, with its player interactive nature (to the point of rap battles in game being just as feasible like in real life) implying it to be something like TheMetaverse.
* FryingPanOfDoom: [[spoiler:Haachama carries one on her other hand in her appearance, alluding to her status in hololive as a CordonBleughChef.]]
* FunnyBackgroundEvent:
** After "RIP" of Week 1, Nene admits to starting an impromptu livestream of Aloe and Calli's rap battle, showcasing her stream with her avatars (plural) covering the whole screen to hide them both. One of the smaller details in the stream setup is the messages in chat, including a user named "[[CurseCutShort EatingMikeTyson's]][[note]]Ass[[/note]]" using superchat; asking Nene to say "[[Memes/{{hololive}} Hi, honey!]]"
** Throughout Week 4 against Kiryu Coco features the rest of [[Characters/HololiveJapanGenerationFive Generation Five]] in a shopping cart riding alongside the limo they're on. While Coco and Aloe (or Fubuki) are rapping with Botan and Nene listening in, Lamy is sleeping drunk and poor Polka's hanging on for dear life.
** Week 4's background dancers are replaced with Coco's grunts; ": ^ )"-faced people, originating from the "[[WordSaladTitle Quantum Chicken Soup Grass Big Chungus]]" meme of Coco's ''Reddit Shitpost Review'', who'd become a representation of the [[Website/{{Reddit}} redditors of r/hololive]] who deliberately trigger Coco's hatred of poorly-done Japanese with memes that feature [[PoirotSpeak Japanglish]] and StylisticSuck translations.
* FourFingeredHands: Averted; compared to the base game, which give the SuperDeformed characters four fingers, ''all'' characters have five fingers on each hand, including those who are SuperDeformed.
* GratuitousJapanese: This mod's equivalent to the "SHIT" rating [[note]]What you get for ''barely'' hitting a note.[[/note]] in the vanilla version is instead "YABAI", the Japanese equivalent of the "OhCrap" phrase.
* HomoeroticSubtext: While not making use of outright {{Ship Tease}}s unlike ''Journey to Stardom'', ''The Adventures of Detective Fubuki'' deliberately portrays Fubuki and Mio as LikeAnOldMarriedCouple in this manner.
* InformedLocation: Week 6 provides conflicting information on where [[spoiler:"D.O.O.G."]] is taking place in. [[spoiler:The dialogue suggests the room is in Korone's house, but the actual background is filled to the brim with things associated with Nene. [[WordOfSaintPaul Guest composer MAKYUNI]] suggests this was a developer oversight]].
* InterfaceScrew:
** In the second song of Week 1 ("RIP") from an earlier version, the camera zooms in to match Calli's "fuck it", and her own beatmap vanishes, leaving the player with Aloe's own and forcing them to react instead of watching Calli's verses for prompts. This did not get retained when the song was moved to Freeplay.
** The final song of Week 5 causes the arrows to sway, tilt, and shake. It also introduces broken heart notes that force a combo break should you touch them while permanently reducing your total HP.
** [[spoiler:Rushia's song "Killer Scream" features the entire screen shaking whenever she hits her death-metal notes, which also hits your hitpoints harder as well.]]
** [[spoiler:"D.O.O.G." liberally shakes the screen to show Korone's rage. When Aloe begins rocking out, the player's interface shifts to accommodate a 5th key (that the player's prompted to map before starting the song).]]
* InterfaceSpoiler:
** The third song of Week 2: [[spoiler:"Haachama"]], which is plainly listed like any other song on the Week select screen. Those unfamiliar with ''WebAnimation/{{hololive}}'' might not think much about it, but for those who ''do''...
** Averted with [[spoiler:Week 6]], as its true contents aren't shown on the Week select until it's properly cleared, [[spoiler:with the above image replacing Roberu with Okayu.]]
* KaizoTrap: [[spoiler:"Killer Scream" ends on Rushia letting out a bloodcurdling scream. The mechanics of the level will cause this ending scream to inflict a massive amount of damage, and if you haven't left Aloe/Fubuki with a great advantage by that time, it ''will'' deliver defeat mere seconds before the level ends.]]
* TheLastDance: The additional fourth song "Hands" in Week 4 can be seen as this as a tribute to Kiryu Coco, who 'graduated' from being an idol in ''hololive'' on July 1st, 2021. The stage also takes a night time appearance befitting the festive, yet somber mood. By the fifth update, it also serves as this InUniverse, as she's formally retiring from the Yakuza lifestyle to [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall move on to another life]].
-->'''Coco:''' "GOOD NIGHT, [[PrecisionFStrike MOTHER FU●KER]]..."
* LaterInstallmentWeirdness:
** For various in-universe and out-of-universe reasons, older iterations of the story drew more attention to Aloe and Coco's graduations. 6.0.0, on the other hand, is written in such a way that the issue is sidestepped entirely in favor of a more diverse set of topics.
** 6.0 makes Aloe and Nene's romantic feelings for each other less overt than 5.0, most notably replacing the UnConfession using an attempt at the "[[https://takashionary.com/the-moon-is-beautiful/ the moon is beautiful]]" stock line at the beginning of Week 3 with the two simply eating takoyaki together on the roof. However, it's been implicitly confirmed this isn't actually [[HideYourGays downplaying]] them whatsoever.
** Due to the entire fallout and subsequent rewrites to ''[=HoloFunk=]'''s lore and story, it is now ''vastly'' different compared to [[VideoGame/HoloFunkPreSixPointZero everything pre-6.0.0]]. Non-story elements from that iteration that did not transfer over include:
*** A CG after Week 2 that parodies those found at the end of Hologra episodes. Although its removal is likely because of a MeaningfulBackgroundEvent meant to reveal a major plot point in the old lore, no replacement was created. Instead, the loading screen for [[spoiler:"Haachama"]] features a similar shot drawn by Zarkion, with the obsolete details adjusted accordingly.
*** Dialogue being present at all before "Lalion"/"Run & Gun" and "Poi"/"Merc'd" in Aloe's route.
*** Week 3 in general simply being a remix of Week 3 from the original ''FNF''; 6.0 replaces them with original songs.
*** Coco's bar only being visited in Fubuki's route; both protagonists now visit it in story mode.
*** Aloe and Fubuki's routes being separate downloads: with 6.0, they are now packaged together.
** Until 6.0, the mod's soundtrack only used Boyfriend's voice for the player's vocals, allegedly out of respect for Aloe. Most songs made during and after 6.0 bit the bullet and used vocals made from Aloe and Fubuki's voices, the former of which was created by now-playtester Blantados and used by himself and others for over a year with minimal complications.
* MaximumHPReduction:
** [[spoiler:What the broken heart notes in Haachama's "Red and Black" and her EX songs will do if they're hit, along with darkening the screen. They also count as a miss for the purposes of achievements.]]
** For Week 6, [[spoiler:Okayu features her "Mogu Mogu" chibi devouring the health bar at one point in both of her songs, widening the risk of failure from missing notes.]]
* PokemonSpeak: All of [[spoiler:Haachama]]'s rap vocalizations are variations of the syllables in her name, [[spoiler: "HAA-CHA-MA"]].
* ProductionThrowback: The game features a song that is a collaboration with Saster, [[spoiler:is a heavy-metal piece, and has the PlayerCharacter randomly pull out a guitar at various points, with the strumline adjusting in key count to match. Are we talking about "D.O.O.G," or "[[VideoGame/FridayNightFunkinCorruption Discharge]]?"]]
* PsychoStrings: [[spoiler:Occurs a few times during Haachama's titular song, highlighting her [[AxCrazy psychotic nature]].]]
* RecklessGunUsage: Coco is seen waving her pistol around in Week 4 while dancing and singing. While the trigger discipline is slightly more reassuring, it's still wholly unwise, lightly putting it.
* {{Retcon}}: As this mod is in constant development, certain aspects end up changing from version to version. In particular, version 6.0 would mark a drastic case of this, wiping all crossover content in the game's story (including primary reference material) off the grid and adjusting in-game material to compensate.
* ShipTease: The Tutorial song for ''Journey to Stardom'' features Aloe blushing as she sings for Nene, with this scene preceded by Aloe being touched by Nene gifting her the Aku-Mic that she kept safe since last time Aloe's gotten into singing. Week 5 also has Nene getting handsy while helping Aloe change into her Christmas outfit, complete with heart eyes and PervertedDrooling.
* ShoutOut:
** [[https://youtu.be/pGmFXcO_-Bw The preview trailer]] for ''[=HoloFunk=]'' 5.0.0 parodies ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate's'' method of showcasing its crossovers, showing off the game's title logo alongside "Takamori" split up by an X. The latter title shortly afterward changes to ''Friday Night Funkin': Vs Camellia'', revealing the {{Crossover}} with the mod in question.
** The Freeplay art of Amelia and Gura have them posing, [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure JoJo style.]]
** The art for Week 4 select screen features a recreation of a scene in ''Anime/PuniPuniPoemi'', with Coco as Shii Asu and Aloe as Poemi Watanabe.
** Due to Calli's love for ''VideoGame/Persona3'', once to the point she spent two hours continuously begging Creator/{{ATLUS}} to allow her the streaming rights to the game '''without pause''', there are many references to ''Persona 3'' included alongside her.
*** Whenever she's encountered during cutscenes, [[PaintingTheMedium the UI completely changes to the game's own]], from the different dialogue box and font to the date and time-frame in the upper right corner.
*** Week 1's first song "Live Again" is actually a remix from ''Music/{{SiIvaGunner}}[='s=]'' [[https://youtu.be/YZLZgoU9YV8 rip]] of ''Joy'' from the ''Persona 3'' OST, which is actually a mashup of the former song and Mori's own single ''[[https://youtu.be/h-LOlueKCtk Live Again]]''.
*** The gun she wields in Week 5 is called a D.E.E.S Evoker, named after the SEES Evoker. Aloe even {{lampshade|hanging}}s that the gun name brings to mind a game series Calli likes, nearly name dropping ''Persona 3'' before being interupted.
** Week 3's loading screen intentionally bears a passing resemblance to the artstyle of ''VideoGame/FridayNightShootin'', having been drawn by the same person who created a skin mod for ''FNS'' combining the two's aesthetics.
** Coco's week one a large collection of references to the ''VideoGame/{{Yakuza}}'' series, to the point of {{Homage}}.
*** Like Calli with ''Persona 3'', The dialogue box throughout the week is styled after ''VideoGame/YakuzaLikeADragon's'', with the character portraits appearing out of the 'tears' from the sides instead of just above the dialogue box.
*** Aloe's first encounter with the henchmen, complete with the exact quote and AsideGlance, references a sequence in ''Yakuza: Like A Dragon'' where the main character encounters a foreigner who speaks English.
*** Upon making her appearance, Coco's mugshot grays out with red BossSubtitles of her name and profession appearing, just like in ''Yakuza'' whenever a major character makes an appearance.
*** After Fubuki questions Kiryu Coco about someone they've been looking for, a popup titled "Side Story: A Bumbling Detective" appears, akin to mid-dialogue side-quests in ''Yakuza''. [[BrickJoke By the end of week]], the same pop-up shows up again, this time showing "quest completed."
*** The first two songs in Week 4, "Friday Night" and "Cinderella" are direct renditions of popular songs from ''VideoGame/Yakuza0'' (''Friday Night'' and ''24-hour Cinderella'' respectively); the latter one was directly sampled from one of Coco's private-only karaoke streams. The last song "Hands" is from ''VideoGame/Yakuza6'', the final karaoke song unlockable for Kiryu; a fitting farewell song dedicated to Coco and her graduation.
** The patch notes for 4.0.0 claiming to have [[spoiler:removed "Haachama"]] brings to mind a retired RunningGag for the patch notes of ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' mentioning to have [[invoked]][[UrbanLegendOfZelda "Removed Herobrine"]].
** When Botan pulls up to the limos in Week 4 in the shopping cart, she announces her presence with the horn StockSoundEffects from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy''.
** From Week 5:
*** Aloe asks if it really is Santa Claus [[Memes/TheSimpsons at this time of year, in this part of the country, localized entirely within a shopping mall]].
*** Kiara and Calli's shirts read "'''S'''HE'S MINE" and "SHE'S CRAFT" respectively, [[VideoGame/{{Minecraft}} in other words...]]
*** Aloe getting ahold of Calli's gun is presented in the same way evidence is obtained in ''VisualNovel/AceAttorney'', with the "evidence" having its own description:
---->'''D.E.E.S Evoker'''\
A modelgun "wielded" by Calliope Mori. Why she thought it be effective - let alone lethal - is anyone's guess.
** One of the loading screens for "Paintbucket" shows Iofi drawing the "[[https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/wawa-cat-oh-the-misery-cat wawa cat]]" (real name Kotaro) as he appears in the "[[Music/ImagineDragons oh, the misery]]" memes.
** [[spoiler:There is a poster for ''Doki Doki Takeover!'' on the wall of Korone's room.]]
* ShowsDamage: If her health is low enough, Aloe will appear visibly stressed in her sprites, complete with her visibly sweating.
* SoundEffectBleep: Present in two of Coco's songs original to her, "Gangmari" and "Weather Hackers". While the latter does prominently feature her swearing for the chorus of said song, this mod's version of the song plays the vocals in the games signature [[SpeakingSimlish Beep Boop Bops]], meaning there's no real reason for the censor bleep [[PlayedForLaughs other than for laughs]].
* SoundtrackDissonance: While two of her songs avert this trope, [[spoiler:Haachama's later attempts at wanting to turn the girls into her dishes are set to groovy, catchy music such as "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l97JqSRPiAQ Red and Black]]". While her Week 2 introductory song, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGRe0dxXcPA Haachama(-chama)]]", does initially start off as a straight rip of her single "Red Heart", [[SubvertedTrope it shortly transitions into]] a horror themed song with a constantly changing tempo -- from slow and menacing to a frantic rush ridden with PsychoStrings and {{Boss Warning Siren}}s. The music that plays in the cutscene before "Haachama" is also this, as it sounds very ubpeat in contrast to Haachaama's desire to turn everyone present into her dishes]].
* TheStinger: The end of the [[https://youtu.be/RvJ0BCHQnNA Week 4 trailer]] showcases the in-game encounter with [[spoiler:[[CuteButPsycho Haachama]]]]. Except instead of singing, her dialogue is [[spoiler:the infamous [[https://youtu.be/moRb9KxcnnY "My Feet Stink"]] declaration]], followed by Aloe [[GainaxEnding suddenly]] getting {{Game Over}}ed in response.
* StreamerFriendlyMode: A variant. ''The Adventures of Detective Fubuki'', originally a route with it's own Boyfriend incarnation, was originally created to facilitate potential playthroughs of the mod by the actual ''hololive'' talents due to the main story placing the graduated Aloe front and center, which is generally speculated by the community to be a sensitive subject. With the combination of both routes into a single file, 6.0.0 plays it straight by offering an alternate build explicitly meant for use by talents.
* SuddenlyVoiced:
** Calli's first week of songs utilizes her original songs vocals.
** Coco's "Cinderella" is pulled from her singing "24-Hour Cinderella" in an unarchived drunk karaoke stream.
** Getting a GameOver against [[spoiler:Haachama]] has her act as a GameOverMan; using up to seven different voice clip quotes pulled from various sources. [[spoiler:By the final verse of "Haachama EX," Haachama says "You guys are degenerates!" to signal the sudden health drain.]]
* TokenMiniMoe: While a few of the ''hololive'' cast appear SuperDeformed in this game, Aqua in Week 5 stands out due to appearing next to the other ''hololive'' girls cameoing alongside her in the week, appearing ''much'' shorter in comparison.
* TranslationConvention: Much of the cast are native Japanese speakers, but here the dialogue is entirely in English for the audience/player to read. Though, the only indication to the audience that this is happening is with Aloe's encounter with a Kiryu Clan goon, having the former remarking that the latter is speaking English (while in English).
* TruerToTheText: Well, for a given definition of "text." Compared to 5.0.0, 6.0.0's rebooted story returns focus to ''hololive'' proper, and is stated to avoid getting other works, {{Original Character}}s, and [[RippedFromTheHeadlines possible ties to the real world]] involved.
* WaxingLyrical: Doubling as a one-liner, Calli quotes the opening chorus of "Off With Their Heads" to Aloe when she reveals she was holding back in the previous songs, before getting into the final song, which was previously a remix of said song in versions prior to 6.0.
-->'''Calli:''' Welcome to the mountaintop, senpai.
