A 2014 [[UsefulNotes/IOSGames iOS]] and [[UsefulNotes/AndroidGames Android]] game from Pixelberry Studios, the creators of ''VideoGame/HighSchoolStory''.

"Congratulations! You've just been accepted to Hollywood University, the school for stars. Pack your bags, because fame, fortune, and romance await!"

The game has since shut down on August 10, 2022 along with ''High School Story'', with in-app purchases disabled on July 20.

!! Hollywood U: Rising Stars provides examples of:
* AbusiveParent:
** Carlotta Valentine is a borderline example. She loves her daughter, but is very against the idea of letting her live her own life. [[spoiler:[[DoubleSubvertedTrope It turns out Carlotta just wants the money.]]]]
** Anders Stone alternates between spoiling Bianca rotten and making it clear she's not as good as her sister. He then threatens to disinherit Desiree if she accepts a movie offer from your character.
* AlphaBitch: Bianca makes it her personal mission to make your characters' lives hell.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: "Of Fortunes Told" is a very short quest told in the perspective of Bianca.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: InUniverse, Creator/MichaelBay's suggestion for Holly Chang's movie involves her main character's cancer being cured by having it shot.
* BadassDriver: The Stunt Drivers are this. Especially in the class quest where you're competing with other drivers for a spot in a movie, which culminates in driving through a dust storm!
* BetaBitch: Jenni and Shae are the betas to Bianca's alpha.
* BlahBlahBlah: In "Of Fortunes Told," Bianca hears your character say nothing but "Blah blah blah, everyone hates me," among other self-deprecating things.
* BrainlessBeauty: Lance Sergio.
* ChangingClothesIsAFreeAction: Some quests will require you and your friends to wear specific clothes before you begin. You can easily change back after you start the quest.
* TheComicallySerious: Let's face it, the way Thomas Hunt is so sour all the time can be pretty funny.
* CompromisingCall: In "Evildoers Beware" (the superhero help quest) your phone goes off during an infiltration, which sets off a chain of events leading to you almost getting killed.
* ContractualPurity: In-universe. Lisa Valentine struggles with this. This could be extended to her former co-star Aria as well.
* DarkerAndEdgier: VideoGame/HighSchoolStory involves you and your classmates breaking into a school and being blackmailed among other things. ''Hollywood U'' has more thrilling and dangerous adventures and sometimes gets you and your entourage members kidnapped or close to killed.
* DownerEnding: "Dead Man Walking" (the zombie help quest) has an extremely unsatisfying ending. [[BookEnds It ends almost exactly how it starts]], asides from the fact that you have made a new friend and are unwilling to leave them behind.
* ExecutiveMeddling: InUniverse, your character has to talk Holly Chang into changing the ending to her screenplay for Permanent Wound.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Emilia Ruiz and Victoria Swenson seem to be examples of this trope, based on the reactions of Didi, Addison and other girls in the game.
* EvilIsPetty: When you think about it, Anders Stone is a very successful billionaire, head of a powerful production company, yet he's trying to destroy you, a student who happened to piss off his daughter whom he doesn't even seem to care for that much.
* FanservicePack: Since this is essentially the college version of VideoGame/HighSchoolStory, the girls have a larger bust and the boys have more pronounced abs.
* GayOption: Just like in High School Story, your characters can date whoever you choose them to date.
* GirlPosse: Bianca, Jessi, and Shae.
* HandcuffedBriefcase: In "The First Action Hero," Thomas Hunt asks you and an Action Hero to deliver a briefcase, which he cuffs to your wrist. That doesn't stop Bianca and her posse from stealing it; Shae picks open the lock. It turns out that the briefcase contains a script that Thomas wants to get rid of.
* InsufferableGenius:
** Professor Hunt.
** Holly Chang, who wrote a spectacular script which was never produced because she was unable to work with any of the prospective directors.
* KickTheDog: In the New Year's special questline, Bianca mocks Addison to her face that her dying mother might not make it to the next New Year's. Then gets her, you, and Ethan arrested by security for trumped-up charges. Her father, Anders Stone, is much worse; he makes you let Bianca play the lead role in your movie, [[spoiler:cheats you out of a $25 million revenue, refuses to vouch for you and even recommends your expulsion, and tells you that your name won't be in the credits of your own movie.]]
* LateForSchool: Being late is a reoccurring theme.
* ManipulativeBastard: Brian Ratzik and Anders Stone.
* MyBelovedSmother: Carlotta Valentine.
* MysteriousPast: Addison.
** [[spoiler: You eventually find out that she had a MayDecemberRomance with an aging producer but his wife found out and he blamed her. Heartbroken, she changed majors.]]
* MysteriousStranger: The unknown benefactor who pays your tuition to Hollywood U.
* ThePrimaDonna: Bianca, Bianca, '''''BIANCA'''''. [[GiftedlyBad She can't even claim to be good at acting.]] Her character in your first movie is so [[BadBadActing wooden and dull,]] the only thing that saves you is a last-minute script change to make her character a robot.
* RevengeSVP: You, Lisa, and Addison attempt to do this at Anders Stone's movie premier. [[spoiler:He lets you in, but kicks you out when you try to take back what's yours.]]
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Bianca only gets a major role in your first film because her father funds it after things go south with a tank.
* ScrewTheRulesImBeautiful: Lance seems to think that the world works this way.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: Anders Stone is your textbook example, screwing you out of your movie, revenue, credits, and all, simply because he has the money to do so. When it comes to screwing the rules, this game has it all.
* ShirtlessScene: The male model outfits have open shirts revealing abs.
* ShoutOut: To the Kardashians, The Hunger Games, The Little Mermaid, and a constantly growing list of movies and movie stars.
* SocialMediaBeforeReason: Characters will often tweet or post about events as they are happening no matter how inappropriate. Jenni is notorious for this but Chance takes the cake. [[spoiler: Putting your twitter followers above your fiance on your wedding day by letting them pick the song she walks down the aisle to when the song was literally the only thing she cared about makes his priorities crystal clear.]] Your celebutante enjoys tweeting your arguments with Hunt.
* SorryImGay: An option when talking to a famous male movie star is "Just to be clear, I'm into girls". If your character is a female, this trope applies.
* TeacherStudentRomance: You are given the option to go on a date with Hunt.
* ThereAreNoAdults: Averted this time, adults have full models and dialogue as opposed to High School Story. Justified since this is college, meaning that all the characters are technically adults.
* ThinkNothingOfIt:
** Your Main Character frequently.
** [[spoiler:Shae during the Overshadowed Quest.]]
* ZombieApocalypse: One of the quests you get in Halloween has the school under attack. [[spoiler: It was all staged by Professor Hunt]]
