* ActorAllusion: When Ned talks to Mr. Gibson, the music teacher, about wanting to be a rock star, one of the bands he mentions is Music/{{Everclear}}. Gibson is portrayed by Art Alexakis, the frontman of Everclear.
** Possible case involving Jim J. Bullock's character of Mr. Monroe. His StarMakingRole on ''Series/TooCloseForComfort'' was named Monroe Ficus.
* AdoredByTheNetwork: It was a matter of time, after obsessively rerunning ''Series/{{Zoey 101}}'' and ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' (both shows that previously overshadowed it on the main channel), it was inevitable ''Ned's'' would become Creator/TeenNick's new favorite show to rerun. Wouldn't you know it? [=TeenNick=] now is obsessed with running this show. It's the first thing they show in the morning as people wake up and the last thing they show before the nightly ''Series/DegrassiTheNextGeneration'' reruns and is shown in hour-long blocks at least twice in the afternoon hours.
* BillingDisplacement: During the first season, Jim J. Bullock was placed in the opening credits alongside the main cast despite Mr. Monroe not being any more prominent than any other teacher.
* Main/{{Blooper}}: In "Tests," Ned realizes that he has to do the opposite of what he normally would in order to beat his test anxiety and prepare for the upcoming exams, which prompts Gordy to refer to him as "Den Ybgib" (complete with Ned's name being reversed on-screen. At the end of the segment, Ned has succeeded in acing all of the tests, with help from the brainier students, and is presented with a membership card for the "Genius Exam Enthusiast Klub"...which identifies him as Den "Yibgib."
* ContinuityLockOut: As "Guide to: April Fools' Day/Excuses" rarely aired, it causes confusion as to Superintendent Brown's debuting in the former (and isn't seen again until "Principals" a season later), Cookie pushing Vanessa's grandmother down a flight of stairs in the latter (which Vanessa mentions a few episodes later in "Science Fair"), and Seth ending things between him and Moze also in the latter (which is brought up in "Jealousy" the following season), which is significant context.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: In "Reading", Ned tries to give an oral report on ''Literature/GreenEggsAndHam'' to cover for how he didn't actually read a book for English class. In it, he claims that Sam doesn't like the titular food. However, Sam likes the food, and the story's about him trying to convince the unnamed man to give it a try. This is possibly a deliberate case however due to Ned's dislike for reading.
* DawsonCasting: The characters are supposed to be 13 (7th grade) and for the most part they aimed to get actors in the realm of 12-15 to play those kids (at the start Devon Werkheiser and Daniel Curtis Lee were both 13 and Creator/LindseyShaw was 15). But the series progressed [[WebcomicTime slower than real life]] and the actors ended up pushing 17-18 when they were supposed to still be 14.
* LifeImitatesArt: Cookie's glasses are eerily similar to Google Glass, featuring computing technology and a fully functional web browser nine years before Google would bring the idea to the real world.
* OffTheShelfFX: Some of the high-tech add-ons of Cookie's glasses in earlier episodes seem to use ''Toys/{{Bionicle}}'' parts.
* TheOtherDarrin: Since ''Ned's'' is dubbed in Chile and ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'' is dubbed in Miami, the episode that featured a cameo from Cosmo and Wanda had them voiced by different voice actors in the Latin American dub.
** Same for the Italian dub, as ''Ned's'' is dubbed in Milan and ''Fairly Oddparents'' in Rome.
** Oddly, the same happened in Polish dub, in spite of both ''Ned's'' and ''Oddparents'' being dubbed in Warsaw.
* OutOfOrder: Despite being produced after them, "Excuses" aired earlier than "Secrets" and "Spirit Week". This is notable as how in the former, Seth breaks up with Moze, while the latter two episodes has them still be together.
* RomanceOnTheSet: Devon Werkheiser and Lindsey Shaw got together late in the final season and dated for about a year after the show wrapped.
* SuppressedMammaries: Lindsey Shaw mentioned in a Tik Tok that her Moze's habit of wearing hoodies and layers was actually to hide her developed breasts, since she was more developed than most middle schoolers.
* TechnologyMarchesOn: In "Video Projects" most of the advice still holds up well: immediately delete embarrassing footage or don't procrastinate. The one that doesn't, is hit the protector tab on the tape to avoid deleting your project by accident since most video projects use SD cards or are just done using cell phones.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** A number of pilots where shot that had minor differences from the final series, such as Moze having a different personality. Cookie was also originally supposed to be a white kid named Boogie, but he was changed for racial diversity, with that actor later getting recast as the character Albert Wormenheimer later on.
** Cookie's bio on the Nickelodeon website reveals that he was originally envisioned as being from a rich family but [[SecretlyWealthy chose to keep it a secret]] so that he could have [[IJustWantToBeNormal a normal middle school experience]] with his friends.
** There were plans for a sequel series unofficially called ''Ned's Declassified High School Survival Guide''. A pilot episode was shot, but Nickelodeon declined on greenlighting the series. According to Devon Werkheiser on a now privated video, while ''Ned's'' was popular, its success was less than that of everything being produced by Creator/DanSchneider, such as ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' and ''Series/Zoey101''.
** In TheNewTwenties, Scott Fellows [[https://www.avclub.com/sorry-folks-a-neds-declassified-survival-guide-reboot-1846929372 pitched a]] {{revival}} of the series to Nickelodeon/Paramount, focusing on a now 20-something Ned creating a guide to help young adults navigate the world. Despite all three leads and several of the supporting actors being onboard, as well as Creator/ParamountPlus's success with ''Series/ICarly2021'', the company passed.
* WordOfSaintPaul:
** According to a Tik Tok by Lindsey Shaw, she imagines that in the future, Moze would become the school’s shop teacher.
** Both Shaw and Devon Werkheiser have stated their belief that [[spoiler: Ned and Moze didn't last as a couple and would ultimately go back to being friends]].
* YouLookFamiliar: Creator/FredStoller appeared in the first season twice, as a school portrait photographer, then as a bus driver, before [[RecastAsARegular getting the recurring role]] of Mr. Lowe in season 2. It's not clear if they're all meant to be the same person, though.
